This is based off the "Non-Country Songs You Would Like To Hear Covered" thread. Excuse me if it has been done but couldn't find it in search. I was just listening to Tracy Lawrence's "The Coast is Clear" off The Coast is Clear (1997) and was thinking how it would be a good song to get covered by a current country artist. Maybe Jason Aldean...???? I don't know, but was a good single and think it'd be a good cover. So what singles do you think (That may or may not have been already covered) would be good candidates for being covered by a country artist current or recent.

All the past Country songs I would like to hear covered are ones that died low on the charts and I have fantasies of bigger named artists recording them and making them become big hits, lol.
Brice Long/Chris Cagle - "Anywhere But Here" Tracy Lawrence - "If I Don't Make It Back" James Otto - "Days Of Our Lives" James Wesley - "Jackson Hole" Rebecca Lynn Howard - "That's Why I Hate Pontiacs" Sonya Isaacs - "No Regrets, Yet" Matt Jenkins - "Bad As I Want To" Brian McComas - "All Comes Floodin' Down" Halfway to Hazard - "Devil And The Cross" Amy Dalley - "I Think You're Beautiful"

I've always said I would love to hear Alan Jackson do Waylon Jennings' Rose In Paradise. Jackson would kill that one.

One of my favorite TL songs ever. Aldean recently did a cover of Time Marches On and he sounds really good on it. I think his voice is well suited to retain TL's style while having his own flair. I honestly love covers and wouldn't mind seeing one cover album for Tracy Lawrence. There's a lot of great material to use.

Won't happen in a million years cause Blake is way too big to care, but Blake Shelton doing a cover of "The Call" by Matt Kennon would be amazing. But that song has meaning to it, and an actual melody, so yeah, no way the new Blake Shelton would sniff it.

I did see his cover of "Time Marches On" and he did sound good. I could just picture him being able to cover that song and very well. There is a lot of great TL material for sure, great 90s artist.
