Artist: Cyndi Thomson Single: "Sippin' Wine On The Water" Writers: TBA Label: Dreamlined Entertainment/in2une Nashville Add Date: May 16th, 2016 From All Access: From Music Row: Audio Coming Soon!So I was excited to see Cyndi return to music, then I saw that in2une Nashville would be handling promotion...that means this song will actually get more than just curiosity spins. I know her Capitol Nashville career was roughly 14 years ago but I really enjoyed her first two singles. Some may know the Gary Allan top 5 single from 2006, "Life Ain't Always Beautiful", which Cyndi co-wrote. Tagging some folks for this one: KanenrΓ‘:ke, .indulgecountry, bigfan101, Ten Pound Hammer

WHAT?!?!??!?! Best news of the week!
Anybody who is reading this thread and hasn't checked out Cyndi, please make time to do that tonight. Her debut CD (and only CD so far) is amazing. I still play it from time to time 14 years later (my goodness, does that make me feel old). I can not wait to hear this!!!

Didn't see this one coming! Lol
Really excited to hear it! I really like her album from I-don't-know-how-many-years-ago... It's a shame she was only able to get one hit single with it and then disappeared. I'm not holding my breath expecting a hit single out of her now but it is exciting hearing new stuff from her! Better late than never

Better late than never Her second single reached #21 on Billboard and top 20 on R&R in 2002, along with her third single, "I'm Gone" reaching #27 on R&R in 2002. So she had one big hit and two moderate hits. :)

I'm so so so so happy! I'm not expecting much for chart action really as long as I get to hear her beautiful voice again I'm going to be satisfied!
Now we just need Jessica Andrews and SHeDAISY back again and my three favorites from 2001/2002 will be back!

When I became aware of her as a teen (probably around 2003-ish) there was no Wikipedia or anything like that so it wasn't easy to find that type of information living in Brazil LOL. The only thing I knew was that she had a big #01 and then failed to achieve the same success, ending up as a "one-album-wonder". Since then I don't think I ever looked for more in-depth details about her chart success... I'm glad to learn she was able to achieve some sort of success with later singles, but it's still a shame she disappeared after that. Glad to see her back!

While your statement is accurate, that she was a one-album wonder, it's a much different case than many. Since she decided to not be in the limelight or release any new music, it's not like she tried over and over to match her success and never achieved it. I truly believe (but of course, I could have been dead wrong) that she could have been the next big thing in country music. She came out in a time when Shania and Faith were both taking breaks (and what turned out to be HUGE breaks) and I think Cyndi could have jumped into the role of the format's next big female artist. She had the voice, the looks, the charisma and she wrote her own songs. Glad you enjoy her too! She's one of my favorites!

I really wish that they wouldn't have taken breaks. I was actually kind of surprised to see Cyndi Thompson on here.

I am legitmately SO stoked about this...as many have said, I hope this means the return of Jessica and SHEDaisy. I think we ALL would be beyond ourselves if it happens.

I liked her back in the day. She wasn't an absolute favourite or anything, but "I Always Liked That Best" and "My World" were really good songs. I also wonder if she would have gone on to have a decent career had she stuck around, or if she would have been a one album wonder. I'll be interested to hear this when it comes out (not that I expect it to do much or anything).

I hope Cyndi Thomson sticks with it this time. Let's go back to 2001 when she landed her only top ten and only #1, What I Really Meant To Say. Right after that peaked, she released the second single from My World, I Always Liked That Best. Right when that single was charting, she shocked all of country music by walking away from the business. It did not stop the single from peaking at #21 in early 2002. She charted again with the #31 peaking I'm Gone (how prophetic). Anyway, here is the chart where she was tops:
BILLBOARD TOP TEN FOR WEEK ENDING SEPTEMBER 22, 2001: 1. WHAT I REALLY MEANT TO SAY-CYNDI THOMSON-CAPITOL 2. I'm Just Talkin' About Tonight-Toby Keith-DreamWorks 3. Austin-Blake Shelton-Warner Bros. 4. Where I Come From-Alan Jackson-Arista 5. I Would've Love You Anyway-Trisha Yearwood-MCA 6. Only In America-Brooks & Dunn-Arista 7. Angry All The Time-Tim McGraw-Curb 8. Where The Blacktop Ends-Keith Urban-Capitol 9. Six-Pack Summer-Phil Vassar-Arista 10. Complicated-Carolyn Dawn Johnson-Arista

^ I don't think we needed a video to clutter up this thread, but since it's here, she didn't walk away from the business until late 2002. Not in 2001 when, "I Always Liked That Best," was still charting.

I'm guessing in2une Nashville has delayed the release of this song since there is no sign of it anywhere online or the audio. They also just gave Farewell Angelina's new single the same add date (May 16th) as Cyndi's song, and I don't think this promotion team has enough ammo for two single releases, on the same Monday.
