The discussion of her in the random video thread made me think that she needed one of these of her own. In my opinion, she was a severely underrated artist and vocalist (whose work I should probably explore more outside of singles).
Top Singles:
1. Hey Cinderella 2. Outbound Plane 3. Drive South 4. Someday Soon 5. Just Like The Weather 6. Nobody Love, Nobody Gets Hurt 7. Aces 8. She Said, He Heard 9. Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word (w/ Chet Atkins) 10. Letting Go
Bottom Singles:
1. Goodnight 2. I Want To Be A Cowboy's Sweetheart
I'm not familiar with all of her singles, though. I should work on changing that.

I know that Suzy Bogguss charted before 1989. However, her first big hit did take place in 1989 with the #14 peaking Cross My Broken Heart. She scored a big hit just before Travis Tritt and Alan Jackson. She would have to wait until 1992 for her first top ten, Outbound Plane (#9). Her biggest hit, Drive South (#2 in 1993) happened just after she was named the Horizon Award winner from the C.M.A. in 1992. Here she is on the chart in 1989 with her first top 20 hit. Ready?

I need to some brushing up on Suzy (I only have working knowledge of about four of her singles), but I will say I really enjoyed the Merle Haggard tribute album she came out with a couple years back.

The "20 Greatest Hits" album is a great place to start. Terrific advice, but I actually have all of her studio albums I think, or very close to it. Just haven't yet gotten around to listening to them enough to be able to do a decent top/bottom 5. It's what I call the "so much interesting music in the world, but not enough time to hear it all" syndrome, and regrettably she's one of those artists who has fallen through the cracks for me. She's definitely an artist whose work I want to sink my teeth into before long.
