Released in the summer of 1983 from his album of the same name. Topped the R&B chart for 6 weeks, and also hit #17 Dance and #40 Pop.
I love this.

One of Rick Jame's best songs despite not being as well-known as "Super Freak" and "Give It To Me". Heard this song during old school mixes on WGCI and later V103 when I was younger. Classic 80s R&B with the 808 drum.

I just discovered this song in the past year or so. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cold_Blooded_(song)Rick James began dating Linda Blair in the fall of 1982. In early 1983, she aborted their baby then informed him she had been pregnant after the procedure. James was hurt by her decision. He wrote "Cold Blooded" about Blair. "It was about how Linda could freeze my blood," he wrote in his memoir.
