Sometimes I try to dowload from Rapidshare and it says that my IP already has another file downloading, which I do not. The file listed is always something that I have never downloeaded too! This is worrysome. Has this happened to anyone else w/ Rapidshare? I wonder if I'm getting hacked. ???

You're not the only one. If you download a file that's more than a certain size, it won't let you download another file for 60 minutes. Your computer hasn't been hacked or anything. Hopefully, it hasn't.
But since you are a "free user" of the service and don't pay for premium service, you'll run into this sort of stuff regularly. I use the free one too. That is one of the pitfalls with the service but the good things about it outweigh the bad things. I know waiting can be a pain, but at least the files to be downloaded cannot be deleted by anyone else except the original poster of the file or the administration at RapidShare if something is wrong with the file and people complain about it.

Got ya! I didn't know that. I tricked Rapidshare by clearing history and rebooting. It let me download immediately. Don't know if it would be worth the hassle for most people though!

I have noticed that if I just reboot it'll work for me. I'm on a dial up connection, so sometimes disconnecting and reconnecting solves the problem.

New problem. Does it give you the message: The connection to www.rapidshare.de has been refused. ? I have been getting that message all day.

seriously though, i have some problems with rapid share also. it's making me miss all these cool songs i want to download. the problem would be solve if everyone would just stop using rapid share and start using yousendit or youshareit.... that aside, i still appreciate everyone for making an effort to share their tracks even on rapid share ;)

It's really efficient, but it takes a lot of time to learn how to use it. This one guy who emailed me at the address posted on my blog asking me if I wanted any Despina Vandi tracks turned me on to the service. Basic membership is free. It took me so long to learn how to use it, so I gave up. I'm searching a little everyday for a different site. But YouSendIt and YouShareIt are the simplest to use, but the limit is the only thing that stops me from using it. AOL Instant Messenger's file transfer is really fast. Just last night I used it for the first time with an mp3. It took about 8 minutes to recieve a 3.2 MB file. By the way, that's on dialup. I had been having so many problems, I didn't think it would work. But maybe, we can use that as a last resort. I'm on really often now.
