Personally, I hate WinMX. I know I could probably find more mixes on there if I setup port forwarding, but I usually have fairly good success finding mixes on Bearshare, a Gnutella client (e.g., I got the Usher mixes tonight in no time). My downloads finish much faster and more reliably on this program than any other I've used, so I'd recommend that some of you check it out. www.bearshare.com/lite/

I like eMule and Overnet. Both use the same network, but I tend to get faster downloads on Overnet. eMule actually connects to 2 networks, so I tend to get better results from that program.
Dance mixes are the one thing I download feeling absolutely no guilt about. If it isn't even available on sale in the US, I'm certainly not hurting the artist.

These services do give you a better selection, but they all have some adware, spyware, and trojans (not the kind you want). :(

You can also add Filetopia to this list (and no adware either!). Lots of remixes and fast downloads...

I downloaded both LimeWire and BearShare Lite. As soon as I had installed the programs, all these "red flags" were raised by my spyware/adware programs. Thankfully, I was able to disinfect the programs and use them. I gave them a test drive. They're okay. I like Limewire's interface. I did find two super rare tracks while I was searching. You can also add Filetopia to this list (and no adware either!). Lots of remixes and fast downloads... I'll give this one a try. eMule doesn't have spyware or adware and I've never come across a trojan on that service. I'll check this out too.

Yeah...emule is great if you don't want the songs right away. You pick a bunch of songs you want downloaded..go to sleep...and by morning...most them have downloaded. It's fabulous.

I'll second E-Mule. I also like Soulseek, a majority of the users on there are dance fans to begin with. You can download it at www.slsknet.org if you're interested. Between those two, I can find quite a bit of dance (and some hard to find stuff at that). WinMX will do in a pinch, at least it's still ad-free.
