Hot off the heels of the Eric Prydz, Red Kult and Uniting Nations records which are based on a repeated classic sample comes this new record which recreates Irene Cara's smash "Flashdance...What A Feeling."
I just heard this on Energy 92.7 and this track is just really amazing. The vocal on the track resembles Irene's original. According to some rumors I heard, there are several copycat versions of this same track out right now that use the actual Irene Cara vocal. Apparently, no sample clearance was given for the track so a re-creation had to be done instead.
No word on labels yet.

Funny that you mention the Global Deejays one. I just heard the Global Deejays one. It's exactly the same. I am downloading that one right now. In its Clubhouse Mix, it is the same exact track. I did a Google search and both versions come up. They played this track on Energy 92.7 about 30 minutes ago and the DJ announced that it was by Digital Offspring. I immediately did a search for it. There might be two versions just like there were multiple versions of "Call On Me", "Dare Me" and "Out Of Touch". Some of these records are pretty good while a bunch of these work your last nerve.

IMHO, "Richard Grey pres. Gate 54 - What A Feeling (Make It Happen)" is the best. The Antoine Clamaran Remix is VERY hot! I've been spinning that at the club ever since I got the promo a few weeks ago, and it tears up the floor everytime. I also have the Global Deejays and Groovelickers CD maxis, and they also get an honorable mention!

I just heard this song on Music Choice's Dance channel via cable, it's been on my mind ever since then. I think it's a very catchy remake.

I wish someone would remix Irene Cara's "Flashdance...What A Feeling." Not a cover. But the original vocals with a new beat added. And it could have that same sort of intro that is in these sample tracks. I may actually give it a try when I have some time.

By the way, does anyone know if any of the versions actually used samples from the original Irene Cara track?
And are there any dance mixes of the Irene Cara track available? Like full vocal mixes that aren't covers.
