What do you guys think of this compilation? Seems sort of random, older and newer. Im sorta thinking of buying this one. Didnt know Hani remixed Kelly, maybe its an error. "Since U Been Gone" (Hani remix), Kelly Clarkson "Diary" (Hani remix), Alicia Keys "This Love" (Junior Vasquez remix), Maroon5 "Sunrise" (Peter Presca remix), Duran Duran "World on Fire" (JXL Club remix), Sarah McLachlan "White Flag" (Al B Rich remix), Dido "Milkshake" (DJ Zinc remix), Kelis "Toxic" (Armand Van Helden remix), Britney Spears "So Gone" (Scumfrog remix), Monica "Dreamlover" (Dave Morales remix), Mariah Carey "Naughty Girl" (Victor Calderone remix), Beyonce "Get the Party Started" (Pink Noise Disco remix), Pink "It's All Good" (Nate Skaten remix), Fantasia "It's Not Right But It's OK" (Thunderpuss remix), Whitney Houston "Waiting for Tonight" (Hex Hector remix), Jennifer Lopez "Beautiful" (Peter Rauhofer remix), Christina Aguilera "I Wish I Didn't Miss You" (HQ2 remix), Angie Stone "Unbreak My Heart" (Soul Hex remix), Toni Braxton "Nobody's Suppoed To Be Here" (Hex Hector remix), Deborah Cox www.billboard.com/bb/daily/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1000847680

I'm definitely gonna get that!!! Hott set!!! Although, if I must say something....some of these mixes are WAY overused...for example the remixes of "Un-Break My Heart", "Beautiful", and "Nobody's Supposed To Be Here"....I wish they'd put other remixes of these songs rather than the ones they chose.

It is, it's the Jason Nevins mix.

There is already a thread for this in Music News.
Anyways, the line up of songs is pretty good. I have heard all of the remixes on here. It's a good collection for those who have not purchased or downloaded these tracks already. And for those who don't want to look for all the mixes individually.
The only potential problem with the compilation I see is that the compilation may not be entirely unmixed the way a normal album is. Like the songs may segue into each other. The Totally Dance and the This Is Ultimate Dance! collections were like that. It made me so freakin' mad! I spent $18.95 for each one and neither CD was unmixed. The reviews and the websites said they were unmixed.
I have most of these mixes so I could just seek out the rest and burn my own one in the same order.

Expect this comp to be delayed. If you look at the cover, it lists Lisa Stansfield and Luther Vandross, yet they are nowhere on the track-listing.
And the claim about "all songs previously unavailable in commercial format" is a BIG FAT LIE. And I'm only counting US releases, since it would be unfair to count international releases.

Technically, the 12" singles for all these songs were available in the U.S. I think the Lisa Stansfield and Luther Vandross tracks were either cut or added at the last minute.

I'm not going to bother to list all of them, but I'll list one: Maroon5's "This Love". The remixes were only available on the promo vinyl maxi. Maroon5 did not want to be associated with dance music either, that's why the remixes remained unreleased. I'm shocked that they are being released.

That Maroon 5 remix by Junior Vasquez was pretty good. It helped them get another audience. I wouldn't have found out about them otherwise. It's a shame some artists just don't want to be associated with the dance music. Oh well, we can't make them change their stances.

Didn't Nate Skaten remix "Truth Is", not "It's All Good"? Maybe he did both, i'm not sure.

Wow... thanks for posting this, I don't have time to visit every other forum on the Pulse boards, so I'm glad I got to hear about this.
Personally, these are the type of discs I like to see in the stores and buy. A quality selection of successful dance hits, single/radio edits (not long, drawn-out, 10 minute club versions that will drive you nuts in the car as you listen to the disc track-by-track) and it's NOT mixed. Not that I have a problem with mix CD's - I'm a DJ (that would be messed up, huh? LOL).
Here you've got a nice selection of songs on a disc that's totally listenable, beginning to end, anyplace off the dancefloor, and it doesn't get too repetitive or monotonous. At the same time, they're mostly songs that most Top 40 listeners ought to be familiar with. I think dance music would sell a little better, maybe even gain a few more new fans if the labels were open to marketing more music like this.

They may have edited the songs down so much that they may feel like they are being forced to be shorter. The majority of the tracks on this compilation have Radio Edits already. The Kelly Clarkson, Alicia Keys, Duran Duran, Kelis, Mariah Carey, Monic, P!nk, Whitney Houston, Jennifer Lopez, Angie Stone, Toni Braxton and the Deborah Cox have edits that have been done already. I don't know about the others, but mixshow edits might be better for those. The Sarah McLachlan one is originally 12 minutes long. I wonder what the edit would be like. It sounds like it's difficult to edit without taking out the good parts.

Wait...Swede...how do you know that it is a mistake, saying the Clarkson track was the Nevins mix and not the Hani mix? I know there are some mixes that haven't been released yet. Wasn't someone else remixing "Since U Been Gone?"

Wasn't someone else remixing "Since U Been Gone?" Did you not read my post earlier with the press-sheet from Sony/BMG, with the correct track-listing? (And no, only Jason Nevins has remixed "Since U Been Gone". I wouldn't be surprised, however, if 19/RCA/BMG UK commissions new remixes for the UK market. But, by the time this compilation was announced, no UK remixes had been completed yet). Also, in regards to the Lisa Stansfield/Luther Vandross discrepancy, I've been told that the artwork and the track-listing are not final. This could very well change before the release date.

I think everybody else would've thought the same. That's why I asked if you have read it. If you would've indicated the picture-link was not working for you, I would've written down the info, but you didn't. And no, no 'tude this time either. Simmer.

Looks like the record company looked at what was current that might attract buyers, then found out that it would only attract dance music lovers, and looked back on what was hot over the last decade to attract a more commercial audience.
So it's an odd mix of tunes, most are very good though. But out of the ones I've heard, I would have put on Hex Hector's mix of "Wish I Didn't Miss You" instead and would have nixed "Milkshake" completely.

Lenny Bertoldo, Felix Da Housecat and Armand Van Helden were the official remixers. would Peter Rauhofer be added to that list? I know his mix wasn't released, but I'd still call it official

would Peter Rauhofer be added to that list? I know his mix wasn't released, but I'd still call it official I guess it would fall under the Unreleased category. The Bloodshy & Avant Mix was also released in some territories.

They have changed the cover art. Lisa Stansfield and Luther Vandross are no longer listed.

I got a copy yesterday. Some of this is just so old, I'd rather have had a compilation of all newer stuff.
