Ack, this is impossible to rank or narrow down. I could honestly do a top 50 and would still have to leave off tons of great songs. I'll just post the first 10 songs that pop into my mind as being among my very favorites. Given that he has such a ridiculously huge discography, I'm sure I'm going to overlook some great songs because I haven't heard them in a while or they're on the odd album I haven't heard yet.

I know Merle is an icon in country music but I must admit I don't listen to his albums much. One that I love is "Chicago Wind." Love the title cut, you can feel the chillness of the wind just by the way Merle sings it! It just shows what a stellar artist he is.
