I can not find the fresh buzz songs. Predictions: Work will drop big soon. HTM will not be number one. I do a bad job predicting where Selena Gomez's songs go. 7 years will enter the top 10. 2-5 songs will leave. I hope AT40 has a 2 for 1. I hope Panda gets number one on Hot 100 next week.

Do you think they will mention Prince's death and do a tribute for him like they did for David Bowie?

Do you think they will mention Prince's death and do a tribute for him like they did for David Bowie? If Prince had died earlier in the week, then I'd imagine they would. Failing that, it may have to wait until the following weekend. Not sure how Michael Jackson's death was covered on AT40 (since they both died on a Thursday and Michael died later in the day).

I'd bet on something for next week's show. Most likely, a montage of Prince's biggest hits.

"Hey Mama" - The Black Eyed Peas I heard earlier today that it's actually from David Guetta/Nicki Minaj/Bebe Rexha/Afrojack, and not B.E.P.

Ryan did a tribute to Prince in the first and last segments of the show as heard on the U.S. version running on the iHeart channel. The international version that ran on Virgin Radio Dubai had the regular segments with no Prince reference. I'm not sure if AT40 updated the U.S. version but not the international version, or updated both but Virgin Radio Dubai didn't get the update in time.
In the original last segment, Ryan had a listener intro #1. He said it's the first time ever someone other than Ryan or Casey Kasem or a guest host did that.
Alas. No one remembers Shadoe Stevens.

- So two debuts this week which is not surprising to me. One of them is not Demi Lovato's Stone Cold, and there's a really good chance it will not make the countdown. This makes me sad because I believe this is Demi's best song in terms of vocals. I've seen her perform that song three times on television, and she killed every performance. I also felt this way for Skyscraper.
- Again, I will mention that there's a pattern on Ms. Lovato's American Top 40 catalog. All of her singles that made AT40 went into the Top 10. Whenever she is a featured artist, she only makes the Top 30. If she struggles to get airplay (Skyscraper and Made in the USA, for example), she won't make it.
- Welcome back Panic At The Disco, after almost a decade. I thought they would never come back. Has anyone ever thought that they sound very, very similar to Fall Out Boy?
- Ryan throws in that random Yeah extra in the middle of the show. Um, no. It's just unnecessary. You can't just throw throwback hits that we still hear a lot every day in the middle of the countdown for no reason. Also the case for Hotline Bling, the week after it fell off. Like, we've had enough of that song.
- Don't worry, guys. Stitches will leave next month. That's for sure.
- What could have been nice is that if AT40 still had the 2-For-1, maybe they could play Maroon 5's hit after Robin Schulz since they have the same title, since M5's Sugar was the first optional extra.
- I really wish LDDs would be back. Instead, we have this Tell Me Something Good segment, which has nothing to do with music. I will accept that it's upbeat and positive.
- Speaking of Long Distance Dedications, what songs do you guys think would be good choices for LDDs? I'm curious.
- I want to give my opinion on Rihanna's Work, and I say, this is really not her best song. I'm kind of annoyed that it has also spent nine weeks on top of the Billboard Hot 100. When she sings the chorus, she sounds like an infant half of the time. Let's see how her latest pop hit sounds soon.
- Anyone looking forward to possibly Pink's first hit on here in almost three years? I hope it makes it.
- Yesterday, we just learned that the iconic musician, Prince passed away at age 57 in his hometown of Minneapolis, Minnesota. I was very flabbergasted when I received the news just when it came out. He shall be missed dearly.
Phew, that's quite a lot of blurbs.

^The extras such as "Yeah" do have a purpose. They fill up time. Each hour is supposed to come out to a certain time (the clocks for all the different shows at Premiere are listed at their website). As for what songs are "right" or "wrong," that's subjective. Obviously stations that still air songs such as "Yeah" would prefer music that matches up to their own playlists.

Ryan did a tribute to Prince in the first and last segments of the show as heard on the U.S. version running on the iHeart channel. Yeah, I listened to the revised version. Ryan kicked off the show by mentioning Prince's passing and how, hugely, influential he was to pop music. Right before playing #1, he talked about Prince, again, and played a montage of his nine #1s on the pop chart (going by R&R chart history): When Doves Cry (4 wks, 1984) Let's Go Crazy (4 wks, 1984) Purple Rain (2 wks, 1984) Raspberry Beret (1 wk, 1985) Kiss (1 wk, 1986) Batdance (1 wk, 1989) Cream (1 wk, 1991) Diamonds And Pearls (2 wks, 1992) The Most Beautiful Girl In The World (2 wks, 1994)

Seacrest said that Stitches was the longest running for most weeks since Macklemore - Can't Hold Us did.
Funny that I realized that Nelly sang Die a Happy Man, is a cover by Thomas Rhett. Both in current countdown CHR and HAC respectively

Both in current countdown CHR and HAC respectively According to Wikipedia: "Die a Happy Man" was covered by American rapper Nelly in 2016 and released as a single on February 5, 2016 Link to the Wikipedia page: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Die_a_Happy_Man#Nelly_version
