I picked up this album and have been eagerly awaiting the release for several years. It's a Josh Kelley album. In that I mean he doesn't stretch boundaries and sticks to what he does best. The only bad thing I would have to say about this album is that it's a bit ballad heavy. "Anywhere You Wanna Go" makes no sense to me. It feels like a filler track, with very little lyrical content. Rankings:- The Best Of Me
- New Lane Road
- It's Your Move
- One Foot In The Grave
- I'll Be Standing Tall
- Only God Can Stop Her Now
- Take It On Back
- Cowboy Love Song
- Call It What It Is
- Life's Too Short
- The Rock Who Found A Rollin' Stone
- Anywhere You Wanna Go
I wish Josh would have included his cover of "Mandolin Rain" to close out the album. However, a pretty solid album nonetheless. I'm surprised to see it labeled as "Singer/Songwriter" on all outlets. While Josh has always had a singer/songwriter quality to his music, and this album is no exception - I feel it leans towards country more often than singer/songwriter. But, that's just me.
Overall Ranking: 7.5/10
Edit: It could've been an 8 star album, IMO. I took off half a star for "Anywhere You Wanna Go" and half a star for the omission of "Mandolin Rain."
