This was the second single from 2013's ARTPOP. Originally, "Venus" from the album was slated to be the second single. However, this was featured in a Beats by Dre ad, igniting digital sales. Interscope then shelved "Venus" and released this. There was a video filmed, but it was never released, due to the controversy surrounding it. However, TMZ leaked a clip of it a few months later. It peaked at #7 at CHR/Pop, #9 in the UK and #13 on the Hot 100. This is one of my favorite singles of hers. Great pop song.

My favorite single and track from the album.
God awful video - glad it got nixed and remains largely unseen by the masses.
Lots of opinions about R Kelly these days - mostly negative due to his personal life and legal troubles. I personally can separate the two, and I think he adds something that only he could to this song.
It's pretty darn perfect.

I love this song! Definitely one of my favourite Gaga songs ever. I wish it had had a proper video release (with a different video, ofc) and gone higher on the Hot 100, but definitly still did very well

IMO, this is a prime example of a single that could've been way bigger than it ended up being. It's interesting to ponder as to why it wasn't huge. I think the backlash against GaGa probably hurt it the most.
This song is hot AF. I love it and have loved it since the snippet or whatever. It's in my Gaga top 5. It reminds me a lot of that 80's Alphaville song "Big In Japan".
I love the bridge and final part of the song. Gaga's part slays. R. Kelly's part slays. The version with Xtina is a campy ass mess. I WISH WE WOULD GET TO SEE THE VIDEO IN ITS ENTIRETY!!!

I still love this song, played it the other day. I am still disappointed with this song's performance & era in general.

I love this. Applause and this are the only good songs on that album, and this one should have been bigger.

Gaga and Kells on the same track seemed inconceivable at the time. I was surprised Christina joined her on the remix and that they were on the same song together. It's still a hot song.
I didn't know it peaked that high on the charts. It's better than what I thought originally.

This was easily her best single this side of 2010. I don't think the collaboration was that far out as some might have thought at first, but either way it was a fantastic union of their strength. The album would have been exponentially better had it used this as its main basis instead of the bootleg mashup stuff that it did.
I was surprised that it didn't do better and missed the Hot 100 top 10 altogether, but it was still an ace move by Jimmy Iovine to muzzle her on the single choice between this and Venus.

I love it and it's one of her best songs. The production is well executed and Gaga sang her ass off.

The best -if not the only good- song of the album.
Even though it seemed to be a mess, I'm still curious to know what the video would've looked like.

Probably one of my favorites from her, if not, my actual favorite.

Definitely the highlight of ARTPOP. In fact, it's really the only song on the entire album I liked... seems as if I'm not the only one who shares this opinion though!
The lack of a video is what killed it. It's initial release was successful, it went #1 in a bunch of countries' iTunes, but the only thing that really kept it afloat in the long run was radio, which in the end, didn't end up pushing it to the Top 5 of the charts.
If the general public wasn't so Anti-Gaga during ARTPOP, she probably could've had a lot more success with this and possibly squeezed out a third single. GUY, however, was an atrocious pick and the whole "Artpop Movie" was probably a huge waste of money -- that video looked so damn expensive lol.

I still love this. Should have smashed. She sounded so good with R. Kelly (although I wish she had worked with someone else, she opened up an unfortunate can of worms with him). Love the bridge.
And I'll forget that Christina Aguilera remix ever happened. It was just sad to watch.

This is Gaga's best single since "Bad Romance"; what a phenomenal song! I wish it did better.

The song made this AMAZING performance happen, they slayed it from the vocals to the theme

I'm a big fan of the original, and never cared for the remix. As such, I didn't like how once the remix started getting attention, radio acted like the original never existed. (I've seen that trend with other songs as well.)

Can we make it official that this song literally made for some of her best live performances?

Awesome song and one that I believe has influenced a lot of other songs this decade. One of her best for sure.

I love this one. Great production, hot lyrics, love the R.Kelly feature. Definitely the best song on 'ARTPOP'.
I really wanted this to be a hit, but then came "Love Me Harder" and "Style" which made up for it.

I just heard this today after a long while and was reminded of its greatness. It grabs me and doesn't let go until it's over. And I love R. Kelly's vocal on it. Write what you want - say what you want about that. But c'mon. So good.
Fave from the album, and one of her best songs overall, imo.

It really is a great song. Reminds me of Love Me Harder by Ariana Grande and The Weeknd.
