So how many people have filled in for Bob Kingsley over the years, counting both ACC and CT40? Here are the ones I remember:
* Karen Dalessandro of WMIL filled in for Bob in January 2005, according to a blog post I found.
* I don't remember the name, but sometime around September 2005, there was a substitute host who talked way slower than Bob does. As a result, nearly every other song was shortened, and there were barely any "extras". It was the only time I ever heard "Hicktown" shortened on the show. I think this might've also been the show where "Delicious Surprise" was randomly faded out at 2:21, but I'm not 100% certain.
* Jeffrey Steele handled at least one week each in 2008 and 2009. I loved it when he did this, because he seemed quite comfortable, and brought out the guitar in the middle of the Top 5 to sing a cover song. One of the listener requests was "A Cowboy's Born with a Broken Heart"!
* Jack Ingram also hosted for one week, I believe after Jeffrey's first fill-in in 2008.
* Lance Tidwell of WWYZ (September 2012)
* Carolyn Kruse of WKLB (August 2013, November 2014)
Any others?

I remember a few from Texas area stations filling in around 2007-2008.
Also, Jeffrey hosted a show in 2008 in September -- I remember because I was running errands with my Dad before a Bills Sunday game against the Jaguars. I recall him saying how incredibly old "Love Is A Beautiful Thing" was before it got to Phil Vassar.

I remember Sugarland hosting one week when Lon was on vacation. I'm not sure if it was 2006 or 2008. It was around an album release. They pair more or less interviewed each other and told stories about a lot of the artists.
ETA: Some reason my mind mashed up all the countdowns when I was reading this post. Sorry for going off topic, totally a mistake. Thanks for not making me feel like an idiot for that. ha

^ Oh yeah, that reminded me when Tracy Byrd and Andy Griggs filled in for Lon in 2003 or 2004 on CCUSA.

I remember Jeffrey Steele doing it, and he announced Josh Thompson (who was number 39 or 40 at the time) as a "football player gone country".

^ Jeffrey was also one of the ones who propagated the misinformation that Phil Vassar wrote "Believers" by Joe Nichols. I have no idea how that error came about.

This obviously really bothers you since you've brought it up numerous times, lol. You should hunt Jeffrey down next time you're in Nashville to ask him. :)

It's just one of the more egregious errors I've heard Bob make... not to mention one of the most head-scratching, since Phil had almost no outside cuts after his own singing career began (other than, oddly, "The Sound of a Million Dreams").
Songwriter names are apparently Bob's weakness. He confused Brett Jones and Brett James on a recent show.

I think I've heard him confuse chart positions dozens of times. Like, he'll say "That's Jake Owen at #33", when it's really #32.

^ Getting even further off topic, I remember him playing Alan Jackson's "Home" on one show. Before he played it, he said it got to #3, then after he played it, he said it was a #1. Dude needs a copy editor.
Seems like CT40 has had at least one other substitute recently, but I don't pay attention to the names or voices, since outside Jeffrey Steele, none of them have really done anything memorable.
