I felt like saying "JAMBO" a lot while listening to this. Ya'll better get into this Tropical Country Pop "We Are the World" mashup!

Wow they're releasing an album so soon! So I guess it is a side project then (thank god)...

In all seriousness though, Little Big Town gives me no reason to be concerned about upcoming music from them regardless of who wrote or produced it. I'm definitely very excited for this! I was not expecting a new lead single so soon! I used to feel that way too.... then this song happens. I guess LBT is no longer in my 'buy before listening' artist list.

Why am I not surprised that this song sucked! Oh right I didn't care for Pain Killer overall as a whole. Really I am not surprised even if this is a side project, I still can care less for this song.

Shows what I get for presuming! Not really a fan of this – another example where I don't really mind artists branching out from their home genre, but only if they do it well, and this is kind of bland. (That artwork gives me major Graffiti6 vibes, though! *sheds a tear*) The operative word is "well". Their performance of this on The Voice was lackluster and uninspired. Poor job all around- lackluster performance of an uninspiring song.

Is it bad that I didn't know that they released their first album in 2002? I thought "Pontoon" was their debut single lmao.

Please let the proper follow up with Jay Joyce at the helm be the saving grace following this song. I can't. I just...can't. How are they planning on rolling out two albums. sabre14 do you think we will get both this year? If so, the lead single for that album would come shortly after this side project gets released, correct? Unless, they do this for the second album, too.

All the HDD article said was that they're "working on it"...that could mean anything. We don't know exactly how far into the process they are. My guess is that we'll have to wait until at least the summer for the radio single from the Jay Joyce album -- it might be later even, who knows. I do know there's no way we'll see a full-promotion of a song from this Pharrell album -- Country radio won't play any song like 'One Of Those Days" -- maybe other formats take it but not Country radio. My guess is that we'll have to wait until later this year for their next Country radio single and the Jay Joyce produced album comes out Q1 of 2017. That's just a guess though.

Now that I think about it, that collaboration with Justin Timberlake could be for this album since they were in the studio with Pharrell during the same time.

I'm sorry, but I couldn't make it all the way through this. I'll hold out some hope for the album.. But this is a dumpster fire IMO. That production is just.. Painful, and the vocals aren't much better.

I've only listened to this once and I didn't really care for it. I'm glad that it's a side project. I knew it would be -- there's no way this could be an actual country radio single. It would bomb, and I think the band is well aware of that.
One thing that I find rather alarming is that Billboard has allowed this to chart on their Country Digital Songs chart, even though Little Big Town has said that the song (and the Wanderlust album) isn't country. I don't care if enough people buy it or stream it to allow it to chart on various Billboard charts, but it should only be eligible on Billboard's all-genre Digital Songs and Streaming Songs chart, not the country-only versions of those charts. Little Big Town may be a country artist but that shouldn't matter when it comes to a situation like this.

Isn't this listed as country on iTunes though?

Isn't this listed as country on iTunes though? I don't know; it probably is, but Apple probably just did that since that's where LBT fans are most likely to check for new LBT music. This isn't being marketed as a country album though (it's not really being marketed at all) so Billboard really shouldn't let any of the songs (or the album itself) chart on any of their country charts.

I honestly think it's just automatic if it is listed as Country on iTunes. There's cases for the rock chart too considering non-rock songs make the hot rock charts because they're listed under Alternative (even if they're not considered it). On the contrary though, SafetySuit (shameless promo lol) gets added to Rock charts as well despite their songs/albums being under Pop on iTunes. Their debut and first two singles to their sophomore album were listed as Rock though. So it might just be where they charted first (LBT charted on Country first, so they stay there; SafetySuit first started on Rock, so they stay there; etc.).
