I was just reading Taste of Country's ranking of every one of Blake Shelton's singles and it reminded me that there were so many of his hits IN A ROW that I despised. And I like Blake a lot, I just am not a big fan of much of his recent collection of singles. It got me to thinking who has had the longest string of commercially successful (I'm using Top 10 as my definition) singles that were either great radio songs or flat out crap?
My choices:
WORST - Blake Shelton
1. "Mine Would Be You"
2. "Doin' What She Likes"
3. "My Eyes" (featuring Gwen Sebastian)
4. "Neon Light"
5. "Lonely Tonight" (featuring Ashley Monroe)
6. "Sangria"
7. "Gonna" 8. "Came Here to Forget"
My list would have been 3 longer but "Boys Round Here" (which I applauded for being different) interrupted the snoozefest that was
"Drink on It”
"Over"
"Sure Be Cool If You Did"
BEST - Tim McGraw
1. “Indian Outlaw"
2. "Don't Take the Girl"
3. "Down on the Farm"
4. "Not a Moment Too Soon"
5. "Refried Dreams"
6. "I Like It, I Love It"
7. "Can't Be Really Gone"
8. "All I Want Is a Life"
9. "She Never Lets It Go to Her Heart"
10. "Maybe We Should Just Sleep on It"
11. "It's Your Love”
12. "Everywhere"
13. "Just to See You Smile"
14. "One of These Days"
15. "Where the Green Grass Grows"
16. "For a Little While"
17. "Please Remember Me"
18. "Something Like That"
19. "My Best Friend"
20. "Some Things Never Change”
21. "My Next Thirty Years"
22. "Grown Men Don't Cry"
23. "Angry All the Time"
24. "The Cowboy in Me"
25. "Unbroken"
26. "Red Rag Top"
27. "She's My Kind of Rain"
28. "Real Good Man"
29. "Watch the Wind Blow By"
30. "Live Like You Were Dying"
31. "Back When"
I know many of you have may stopped your Tim McGraw list way earlier, perhaps at "Red Rag Top" or "She's My Kind of Rain". Or maybe way earlier?
Agree? Disagree?
What's your list of best and worst Top 10 hits?

I love Alabama's streak of top ten hits-42 in a row between 1980's Tennessee River (#1) to T.L.C. A.S.A.P. in 1994 (#7). The first half were all #1s. Streak was broken by the #13 peaking The Cheap Seats in 1994.

gonecountry, I COMPLETELY agree with your Tim McGraw list. I love basically every song that he released during the period you highlighted. He has gotten less consistent for me in the past 10 years, but basically everything in the first 2/3 of his career was exemplary!! I'll come up with a list of some kind later :)

I actually hate every Tim McGraw song released. I like Sam Hunts songs. This is the country forum, and Sam Hunt is barely country. And this doesn't have anything to do with the thread.

Again, has nothing to do with this thread. But back to the thread... Worst streak, tie between FGL and Sam Hunt. Reba had a really good streak of top tens between the mid 80's and early 90's.

I was commenting on Kat calling Sam Hunt noncountry.

Carrie Underwood had a really bad streak for a while, starting with "Just A Dream" and "Good Girl". Literally every song is either a snoozer or so unbearable I change the radio station ASAP.
