Starboy!!! Also really happy to see 24k Magic with that big jump! Closer in top ten RIP ITAPII's run in the top 10... Great chart as always! Thanks for the comment! Starboy is definitely gonna be at #1 for awhile, and 24k Magic is looking to enter top 10 soon! Closer is also going to make some significant gains with the video and EP drop! I saw the video, My House and Back to December both said "Last Week #42" ihu,ilu pls be top #40, great jump to False alarm!! This Girl top 20!! Rooting for ihu, ilu, ITNOL, Different for girls (pls jump!) HFTW, Gold (pls top 10 pls pls pls) and for the amazing top 10! Ain't My Fault debuts! Great chart as always (top 50 ) Ahh! So many mistakes this week! My House and Back to December had the rare occasion of tying in points last week for #42 and #43, but Excel placed My House above BTD because it was higher two weeks ago (so MH was 42 and BTD was 43 last week). For some reason, I never bothered to change the rank for BTD on my Excel spreadsheet to 43, so when I used the excel formula, both MH and BTD turned out as "Last Week: 42" and for some reason I didn't even notice it lmao. I'll probably just add an annotation later on my video that corrects this. Thanks for pointing it out though! :) Glad to see my top 10 being immensely popular ihu, ilu, False Alarm, and This Girl all should still be far from their peaks (ihu, ilu only flatlined this week since it dropped out of top 10 on BB), but sadly, HFTW and Gold seem to be peaking. But maybe they can bring it back? DFG can go either way, it still hasn't grown off me yet but it isn't gaining as much as the previous few weeks. Thanks!

The Weeknd f/ Daft Punk (2) Chicken077's Personal Chart - Week 98 (October 29, 2016):
Italics songs denote former or current #1 song Bold songs denote the song received a bullet this week Blue songs denote the song has spent 26 to 51 weeks in the top 100Red songs denote the song has spent 52 to 79 weeks in the top 100 Purple songs denote the song has spent 80+ weeks in the top 100 Green songs indicate a new or returning entry to the top 100
Welcome to the return of my formal chart! You guys might have all missed the interesting font and color scheme I use for my formal charts. This week, it's back! And also, this week is the first in a while I'm posting my chart on a Saturday (I live in the Pacific Time Zone, so it may already be Sunday for non-Westerners/Mountainers ). I kinda want to start releasing my charts on Saturday now that I don't have that SAT class anymore and since my chart is actually dated on the Saturday. (Also, I feel my videos get more views when released on Saturday. We'll see if my inference is true ). But I still may be busy, so I guess I'll still be leaving my chart release date pretty flexible :)
This week was very interesting both personally and on my chart. Personally, it's definitely not a good week but I just really can't say it's bad. Though there were many things going on, the most notable was that I got my SAT score back. My parents and I agreed on this one score that above the line, I will not retest, and below, I will have to take it again. Guess what... I scored right on the line... But I'm sure none of you are here to listen to me talk about my life, so let's dive right into this week's chart!
This week is one of those very deceptive weeks. Looking at my top 15, it's easy to dismiss this week off. But once you peak down into the lower teens, one may get easily overwhelmed. Up at the top of the top 5 stranglehold is The Weeknd and Daft Punk's Starboy, easily taking a 2nd week at the summit and a 5th week in the top 10. It gained big time this week, breaking the 25k points line, being the first song since I had a point system (since April 2016) to do so. If I assigned points to the pre-point system #1s, the last song to score higher than 25k points will probably be Stitches back in November 2015.
Under Starboy is Hailee Steinfeld's Starving (the Stars are ruling the top 2!), which also gained big time, but its points are dwarfed by Starboy. At 22k points, Hailee is now over 3k points under Starboy, and that's not good news for her. The song will keep gaining and is currently a very strong pseudo-#1, but sadly, there's only three ways it can hit the summit: 1) Starboy takes a massive hit, Starving gets some insane boost, or Starving somehow outlasts Starboy and no song gains enough to pass the two. But in all honesty none of these three possibilities have a high chance. But we never know, weirder things have happened. Starving spends a 7th week in the top 10.
Kelsea Ballerini's former 9 week #1 Peter Pan scores a 20th week in the top 10 (congrats Kelsea! Just the 18th song to do so!) and continues its super slow fall, but this week it fell a little more than the past few weeks since it fell out of the BB Hot 100. Under Kelsea is Daya's former 2 week #1 Sit Still, Look Pretty, which rebounded 5 - 4 from a small recovery from last week's massive hit due to the album craze dying down. SSLP spends a 21st week in the top 10. Then comes twenty one pilots' former 4 week #1 Heathens which slid 3 - 5 not from losses itself, but due to Starving gaining and SSLP recovering. The Suicide Squad soundtrack spends a 12th week in the top 10.
The top 5 is in a stranglehold that may be broken by The Chainsmokers soon due to their EP release, but it would be only temporary. Point values for the top 5 are literally roasting the rest of the chart right now, and even if EP release boosts The Chainsmokers' songs up into the top 5, there is bound to be an album die-down period, and given that Peter Pan, SSLP, and Heathens are refusing to lose more than 50 points every week, I simply don't see the top 5 being broken until some massive song runs up the charts (more on that later...). The Chainsmokers' two songs that are set to receive a temporary boost and temporarily enter/reenter top 5 are former 4-week #1 Don't Let Me Down featuring Daya at #6 (31st week in the top 10! Passes Take Me To Church to become the 5th longest run in the top 10 of all time!) and Closer featuring Halsey at #7 (up from #9 due to video release, 2nd week in the top 10). On a side note, it's so crazy to think that DLMD may actually reenter top 5 in November when it peaked way back in June when it was competing with I Took A Pill In Ibiza, Better Place, and to a degree even Stressed Out, My House, and 7 Years!
Kelsea Ballerini's breakthrough single Dibs slips 7 - 8 not because of its own loses, but due to Closer getting a boost. Scoring a 29th week in the top 10, it's just one more week before Dibs becomes just the 7th song to score 30 weeks in the top 10! Continuing down, Hailee Steinfeld's collab with DNCE Rock Bottom subsequently falls 8 - 9, scoring a 13th week in the top 10. This lost a bit more points than Dibs this week, but is still holding on well enough to maintain a stranglehold.
This is where things get interesting and things are not in a stranglehold anymore. We Don't Talk Anymore beings its decline this week as it lost most of its gains from last week. This was the perfect opportunity for Gold and Hymn For The Weekend to hit top 10, but sadly Gold also peaked last week and also began its decline this week, allowing even former 6 week #1 Stressed Out, which is currently on a super slow downward fall, to pass it. HFTW continues to gain, but it's only enough to pass Gold. And with When I Think About You and I Took A Pill In Ibiza blocking HFTW's way, it's not good news, especially when Coldplay is looking to peak in 1-2 weeks. So When I Think About You scores a lucky 7th week in the top 10 by reentering 14 - 10 fueled by a small gain in points. The rest of the top 15 falls in naturally: I Took A Pill In Ibiza continues its slow fall and clings onto #11, WDTA falls 10 - 12, HFTW maintains at 13, Stressed Out takes advantage of Gold's weakness to move up 15 - 14 (just as an idea of how strong SO is: it was #1 in January 2016. It was the one that knocked Hello from #1. And it's still in top 15), and Gold drops 12 - 15.
This all looks like things are getting so static in the top 15 it's kinda boring. But once we take a peak into the low teens, we see three songs that gained massively this week and is eyeing on the top 10 in around two weeks. Leading the pack is Kungs's This Girl, rising 20 - 17 despite this losing quickly on the BB Hot 100. The two other songs are faring a bit better on the charts. Zooming 26 - 18 is The Weeknd's follow up of Starboy, False Alarm. Then is Bruno Mars's follow up (sorta) of Uptown Funk, 24k Magic. I'm counting on these three songs to break the stranglehold of what is now the top 10, and maybe top 5? Maybe even top 2??? Perhaps even challenge Starboy?????
Things get even more complicated as we look lower, but I don't have time for that. The two big gains this week are debuts last week: Alan Walker's Sing Me To Sleep, zooming 66 - 31 and has a potential to join the "breakthrough of the stranglehold" challenge. Next is a guilty pleasure of mine, Maroon 5's new Don't Wanna Know, rocketing 75 - 40. The potential of this song is a bit questionable though, since I still much prefer Maps and Animals.
Only 3 drop outs and debuts this week. We say goodbye to Demi Lovato's Body Say, dropping out from #98 and peaking at #34. The song took a huge hit from the 40s down to the 80s, which was a bit surprising. But it still had a good enough run to make the 2016 YE chart, but it's position? We're gonna have to wait to find out. The other two dropouts are pretty major as well. Desiigner's BB #1 single Panda says farewell from #91, formerly peaking at #23. The other one is a biggie. Former #2 way back when Style was #1 and #58 on Week 1 on my chart American Dream makes its final departure from #97 with a whopping 94 weeks on chart (it didn't score a full 98 weeks because it actually dropped out before for 3 weeks before actually reentering and having a second life). This was one of my favorite late 2014-early 2015 songs that really gives me nostalgia of how great HS freshman year and 2015 was when listening to it. So many memories are rejuvenated when I listen to it. I love the message conveyed in this song and the video is so inspiring. Definitely the best thing MKTO has done thus far and will score high on the coming all time chart (possibly the highest non-#1 song?). I guess I'll send off this song with an anecdote... The line "'Cause Jack left Diane 30 years ago" is special to me. I know J&D was an 80s song, but it's greater importance was if you have followed my posts in the random thoughts thread, you know at the end of 8th grade (mid-2014) something really bad happened to me. So freshman year started with me literally having nothing and literally no friends (I was basically the school bully lol...). Late 2014 was the process of me developing new friends and an interest in music, hence why I started a personal chart in December 2014. One of the first new friends I made was named Diana, and she really was the one that helped me atone from the horribleness of 8th grade, and I thank her a lot for that. So the line "'Cause Jack left Diane [Diana] 30 years ago" just always reverberates in my brain... and especially because I first heard this song when I became friends with Diana... (And no, this Diana girl is not my crush... but I actually became friends with Diana and my crush at the same time. That's a story for another time). The loss of AD is a huge loss on my chart. RIP another awesome song... you will always be remembered.

The upper regions of your chart are just about as impenetrable as mine right now! It's crazy how the big hits always seem to get there at once. Thrilled to see Maren Morris entering the top 50! "80s Mercedes" is EVERYTHING!

Thanks for all the replies! Glad to see Starving as a popular #2 and people loving Alone, Sing Me To Sleep, and 80s Mercedes!! :) So I had a pretty bad week academically and socially. So much that this week's top 10 reflects it (I did the calculations in my free period today, and what happened in the top 10... I think it's the first time on my chart this has ever happened). Also, I have an SAT Math 2 subject test tomorrow as well as an essay to cram for that's due Monday (in addition to the usual workload over the weekend). This week's chart is probably going to be posted Saturday night, but don't be surprised if I post it on Sunday morning. And btw, don't forget to turn back clocks one hour this Sunday (for most of us)! Finally, for those of you that haven't already, check out my other thread for information regarding my upcoming countdown and video! All information regarding the upcoming top 200 songs of all time video/countdown will be posted on that thread. pulsemusic.proboards.com/thread/159106/chicken077-chart-songs-june-2015?page=1&scrollTo=5846598

The Weeknd f/ Daft Punk (3) Chicken077's Personal Chart - Week 99 (November 5, 2016):
Italics songs denote former or current #1 song Bold songs denote the song received a bullet this week Blue songs denote the song has spent 26 to 51 weeks in the top 100Red songs denote the song has spent 52 to 79 weeks in the top 100 Purple songs denote the song has spent 80+ weeks in the top 100 Green songs indicate a new or returning entry to the top 100
I don't even wanna talk about how bad this past week was for me. So I'm not going to. Hopefully the bad things that were proposed at the end of this week don't come true next week. But even if it doesn't, this past week was terrible. Well I guess today was the best day of this week though it was still quite tiring. I took the SAT math subject test and I felt that it was quite easy (I'm a really math/sciencey guy), and I came home and spent almost the entire afternoon working on my 6 page essay due on Monday. I just got finished, but I still need to make some finishing touches and do the works cited page, but I'm just too tired so I'll do that tomorrow.
This week's chart is pretty much similar to my week. Terrible. First, the top 10. There was literally one movement in the top 10. Yes, the only thing that happened was two songs switching positions. If I recall correctly, this is the week with the least movement in the history of my chart (and it's so weird cause it's week 99... just one week from week 100). I remember we had a week in the 80s (July 2016) in which the only major movement was Can't Stop The Feeling pushing 10 - 8, but that pushed two songs back, so I guess there's less movement this week. I do recall, that the week after these super static weeks are usually really hectic, so I'm really expecting that next week, especially with 24k Magic and This Girl approaching the top 10.
I'm so tired with words right now from the essay that I'm going to make this overview very short... in my standards (I usually write super long overviews lmao). Starboy (6th week in the top 10) easily holds onto a 3rd week at #1, still surging in points and not showing any signs of slowing as it leaves Starving (8th week in the top 10) in the dust. At this rate, Starboy could be a potential holder of many records, including most weeks at #1, currently held by Peter Pan, which scored 9 weeks at #1 from July 2016 to September 2016. And as an incredibly strong #2 (kinda like Thinking Out Loud on the BB Hot 100 back when UF was #1), Starving may soon break the record for most weeks at #2 without hitting #1 (unless it gets a crazy boost or another song gets a crazy boost), a record currently held by Dibs which scored 5 weeks at #2 under Peter Pan from July to December.
Speaking of Peter Pan, it holds at #3 on its 21st week in the top 10 as it continues to lose in points extremely slowly. Former #1s Sit Still, Look Pretty (22nd week in top 10) and Heathens (13th week in top 10) tag right behind Kelsea at #4 and #5, respectively.
Then comes our only movement in the top 10. The Chainsmokers' newer song, Closer (3rd week in top 10), moves past their former #1 song Don't Let Me Down (32nd week in the top 10). The former reaches a new peak at #6, while the latter slips to #7 but ties with Take Me To Church for the 4th longest run in the top 10 (only topped by Stressed Out, My House, and Style). With The Chainsmokers' EP out, both songs are expected to get boosts next week, with DLMD potentially reentering the top 5 (crazy!!). DLMD is definitely a contestant for the top song of 2016, but it does have a disadvantage against Stressed Out and My House because it debuted a bit later in the year. But still, it's gonna be a close YE chart! Also, it's gonna be interesting to see whether or not DLMD is going to break the Style record.
The #8-10 positions are all static. Dibs holds at #8, but much more importantly, Dibs becomes just the 7th song (and the first country song, the second song by a solo female) in my chart's 99 week history to score 30 weeks in the top 10!!! TAYLOR SWIFT - STYLE (38 weeks in top 10: 1/24/2015 - 8/8/2015, 12/5/2015 - 1/30/2016) FLO RIDA - MY HOUSE (36 weeks in top 10: 11/21/2015 - 7/23/2016 - longest consecutive top 10 run) TWENTY ONE PILOTS - STRESSED OUT (34 weeks in top 10: 12/26/2015 - 8/6/2016, 9/3/2016) HOZIER - TAKE ME TO CHURCH (32 weeks in top 10: 12/20/2014 - 7/25/2015) THE CHAINSMOKERS F/ DAYA - DON'T LET ME DOWN (32+ weeks in top 10: 4/2/2016 - Still in top 10) SHAWN MENDES - STITCHES (30 weeks in top 10: 7/25/2015 - 2/13/2016) KELSEA BALLERINI - DIBS (30+ weeks in top 10: 1/16/2016 - 2/27/2016, 6/4/2016 - Still in top 10) Fun fact: Dibs actually peaked at #7 in February 2016, and almost dropped out of the top 50 before Peter Pan came out and I got interested in this song again. Kelsea had a great surge in performance in June 2016, bringing this song back in the top 10 and a new peak of #2! And because it lasted since the beginning of the year and it's had such good longevity and peak (it's a "pseudo #1 like Starving), it's also gonna challenge the top of the YE 2016 chart. And if it becomes #1 of 2016, it will become the first non-#1 song to top a YE chart!! Rock Bottom holds at #9 with a solid 14th week in the top 10, and with a nice peak of #5 (very nice in an era of high competition) and pretty substantial longevity for songs of its size, it's looking to score pretty well on the YE chart as well (though it also debuted a bit late...) Kelsea Ballerini's unreleased When I Think About You scores a very lucky 8th week in the top 10 by holding at #10 while holding the same amount of points as last week. It's actually quite far off in points from Rock Bottom, and with new songs surging this week, it looks like this is gonna be it's last week in the top 10. Still, superb for an unreleased song, shows how dominant Queen Kels is on my chart.
Lots of activity under top 10, but I'm just too worn out to talk about it. As far as dropouts go, it's a pretty bad week: saying goodbye My Church and 7 Years sure wasn't fun. I'm more ambivalent on the other three, especially because All Time Low is probably going to return soon. But still, the loss of the two big ones might not add up to the loss of American Dream last week, but still can be considered a pretty sad week.
Debuts this week pretty much gave an idea of how bad the chart and my life was this week. I was forced to debut probably the second song in my chart's 99 week history that I thoroughly despise (the first being Watch Me), Juju On That Beat (TZ Anthem). I mean I hated Work earlier this year, but at least it's somewhat tolerable and I actually somewhat liked the song for a week or two. My school used Juju for the entire length of the VB, and that plus it hit top 10 on BB, so it barely gathered enough points to debut at #99. Pretty sure it's goodbye by next week... unless it continues to blow up at school. The other four debuts are pretty disappointing as well, not cause I don't like them - they're good songs, it's just that 3 out of 4 are below average for songs I debut (since I like/love most songs I debut). Good Grief finally grows on me and debuts at #100, but it's old so I don't see it getting really far. DNCE's Body Moves makes a #97 debut, and although I enjoy it for now, I don't see this will perform as well as Rock Bottom, Cake By The Ocean, or even Toothbrush. Nowhere near as far, actually. Black Beatles impressed me for actually being a non-atrocious song by Rae Sremmurd, so it got a few listens from me and debuted at #86. But still, I don't see me getting anywhere close to thoroughly liking the song, so it's probably bye bye in a few weeks. And finally... something good I can talk about after 7 days of horrible horribleness: Jillboard's intro song In My Mind really grows on me this week as it takes hot shot debut at #73 as Maty Noyes scores her first entry. Unlike the previous four, this song has potential. It looks to be eyeing on top 50 soon (it got quite a few plays yesterday and today) and may actually be headed up.
I'm wayyy too worn out to talk about more. I mean I promised a short overview but my usual interest in this kicked in and made my overview just a bit shorter than average. So yeah, let's hope next week gets better on my chart and in my life... at least next week's WEEK 100!!! and for once, a 3 day weekend because of Veterans Day.

the two "stars" continue to slay I do hope somehow Starving will get a chance to be #1 too :( and I've always been a math/science guy too (well mostly math, though I did pretty well in physics and chemistry in high school as well). I'm actually majoring in statistics since math comes so naturally to me :) hopefully you killed it on your test! great chart as always!

So my original video had a very small booboo in it. It's so minor none of you probably realized, but the entire video is actually considerably softer (sound wise) than my others. Being the perfectionalist person I am, I just had to correct the video with a reupload, so here you go! Also, I didn't get a chance to watch this corrected video from beginning to end since I'm super busy, and given how buggy WMM is, please find if there are any mistakes with transitions here, since WMM sometimes randomly changes my transitions. I'm pretty sure the audio is correct this time, but again, given how buggy WMM is, there is a chance that audio is still softer. I will check tomorrow

Sadly, on this 100th week, I have two exams to study for tomorrow, and I pretty much spent my entire Friday calculating points for the Top 200 of all time chart and half of Saturday making this video, the other half finishing up homework. I didn't get any studying in so far, so I gotta start right now. So I won't be writing an overview for this week or the formatted chart. But because this week is so interesting and is the historic week, I'll try to post a formatted chart sometime next week :)
So until then, enjoy the video and stay tuned for my top 200 countdown on the other thread starting Tuesday 11/15!

Wait, it's November 2016 and there's more than 5 Taylor songs on?!?! Including my all time top 3, "Back To December" , "Style" , "Wildest Dreams" ?!?! YOU HAVE TO ADD ME TO YOUR TAGS LIST Great chart, I shouldn't start writing all of the songs I like/love here because that's probably 99/100 (aka every song except "This Girl" which I hate)

As always, great chart! I am sad to see "I Could Not Ask For More" falling off (after all, it is very close to being my favorite Sara Evans song!), but there is lots to celebrate! "Infinite Love" has really gained some life after falling for several weeks. Kelsea Ballerini continues to slay. "80s Mercedes" is doing better and better! I am so excited for the future; congratulations on 100 weeks!!!

The Weeknd f/ Daft Punk (5) Chicken077's Personal Chart - Week 101 (November 19, 2016):
Italics songs denote former or current #1 song Bold songs denote the song received a bullet this week Blue songs denote the song has spent 26 to 51 weeks in the top 100Red songs denote the song has spent 52 to 79 weeks in the top 100 Purple songs denote the song has spent 80 to 99 weeks in the top 100 Pink songs denote the song has spent 100+ weeks in the top 100 Green songs indicate a new or returning entry to the top 100
Note: Song names are not bolded because I accidentally edited this post instead of creating a new one for the next week's chart. I'll bold the song names if I have time later.
A bit late this week. Although it's Thanksgiving Break, I've been working on the top 200 countdown and having some other stuff to do so I wasn't able to post this on time. Welcome, guys, to the first edition of my chart past week 100, my first chart in the second hundred weeks of my chart. I'm very excited to see what happens next on my chart!
Starboy easily maintains a 5th week at #1 and a 8th week in the top 10, gaining massively in points with two promotional singles released despite that only contributing to one day of the tracking period. Expect both tracks to debut next week, and with the album release soon, this song, False Alarm, and perhaps his promo songs are probably not going anywhere soon!
Of course, that's bad news for Hailee Steinfeld's Starving. Despite staying in the top 10 for a 10th week, it's held back by Starboy by over 6000 points (I changed my point system a bit this week so that I won't have to do any more conversions when adding points to songs on the all time chart anymore. In general, all song's points are multiplied by 2), and given The Weeknd's album release, it looks like Hailee needs a super boost to catch up. It holds at #2 for a 4th week, and is now just one week behind the record for most weeks spent at #2 without hitting #1 (record is Dibs with 5 weeks)
Below Hailee at #3 is Kelsea's former 9 week #1 Peter Pan, holding a 23rd week in the top 10 and a 21st week in the top 3. I don't have any top 3 records just now, but I believe Peter Pan is the only song that has spent over 20 weeks in the top 3! (Many other dominaters like Stitches and Wildest Dreams and Stressed Out tend to spend a mid-teen number of weeks, around 15 ish, in the top 3). So congrats to Kelsea! What an achievement! Also, it's holding so well, barely losing any points, so this will stick around for a long time!
Last week, The Chainsmokers EP release caused their two songs to rebound/bound into the top 5. But that rise proved to be short lived. One week later, Sit Still, Look Pretty and Heathens, the very song that they ousted to hit top 5, rebounded back, kicking both Chainsmokers songs out. It's not really because SSLP or Heathens gained anything, it's more because sadly, The Chainsmokers's album craze didn't prove to have any longevity. SSLP holds a 24th week in the top 10 as Heathens holds a 15th.
The older Chainsmokers song, Don't Let Me Down, had a smaller hit than the newer one, Closer. That's not really due to Closer's weaknesses, but more because the longevity of Don't Let Me Down is so strong compared with the latter that it really seems as if DLMD is going to outlast its successor. DLMD got pushed back 5 - 6 on its 34th week in the top 10, tying Stressed Out for the 3rd longest run in the top 10. 2nd place My House is just 2 weeks away, and the record Style is 4 weeks away. Can DLMD do it? It's holding pretty well at #6, but with new songs rising quick, I feel like it's gonna be close. Closer stumbles 4 - 8 as it spends a 5th week in the top 10, and sadly, isn't gonna last much longer.
Bruno Mars's comeback 24k Magic pushes 8 - 7 on its 2nd week in the top 10, above Closer. I didn't get a chance to listen to his album yet, but once I do, this song is going to blast up the charts. I'm seeing this finally breaking the top 5 stranglehold (and this time, probably permanently unlike The Chainsmokers). But top 3 is a little out of reach just yet; Peter Pan is holding up way too well. But we'll see, Bruno can probably do it in around 2-3 weeks at its current rate.
Kungs's This Girl is sadly starting to stall out at #9 also on its 2nd week in the top 10. Next week, it's probably going to pass Closer, but there are other songs coming up, so it's sad to say, but it looks like #9 will be This Girl's peak. I do see this lasting a bit at #9 and #10, however, and this song might actually be the final determining factor on whether DLMD breaks the record. If small gains by this song lasts long enough, this probably will eventually pass DLMD when it is at around #9/#10, preventing it from breaking the record. But if this falls short, then DLMD may outlast This Girl and perhaps break the record. The number of songs rising, weeks it is looking to take them to rise, and DLMD's path over the next few weeks looks perfect for this matchup...
Alan Walker's Sing Me To Sleep is the frontrunner for these up and coming songs, entering the top 10 by a 14 - 10 leap and gaining quite a bit in points. It's been gaining pretty quickly up to now, and looks like potentially a future challenger of the top 5, 3, or even #1!
Kelsea Ballerini's breakthrough single Dibs gracefully bows out of the top 10 this week after a phenomenal 31 week run in the top 10. It debuted on the same week Hello and Stressed Out did, but ended up outlasting both songs, at least in the top 10. It first entered the region back in January, but only peaked at #7. It dropped out with only 7 weeks in the region, almost dropped out of the top 50 before recovering in late April to May, blasting up the charts with its sister song Peter Pan back into the top 10 in the summer. It went as far as to spend 5 weeks at #2, but unfortunately, was blocked from #1 by Peter Pan. As the fall approached, this song died down slowly to make room for Heathens and SSLP's rise, but it maintained well in the bottom half of the top 10. It hit the 30 week mark two weeks ago, becoming just the 6th song in my chart's 101 week history to do so, before dropping out of the region this week. What a phenomenal run! This debuted a little late to score too high on the top songs of weeks 1 - 100, but definitely look at this to dominate the 2016 YE chart as well as the YE chart for June 2016 to May 2017!
Other movements on my chart/debuts/exits: eh... a little to tired to go in depth. The only notable exit is Rachel Platten's former 3 week #1 and 22 week top 10 song, Fight Song. Another song with such amazing memories that I don't really have time to talk about now lmao. But definitely look for that to score high on my all time chart in my other thread, and I'll talk about memories about this song there! But I still think that the loss of Fight Song is a major loss here, and it definitely deserves a moment of silence from us, despite being bashed by critics for being generic. Fight Song, you will be remembered throughout the future of my chart for being one of the greatest songs of summer '15 (especially the first half) and for being the 7th ever #1 on my chart (also of course, for lasting 22 weeks in the top 10 and for it's amazing #____ position on the all time chart from weeks 1 to 100)....

Another week a bit late. I was busy tying some loose ends together Saturday and Sunday and preparing to come back to school. Interesting how most of the members here that started posting our charts on Pulse had a Saturday release schedule at first, then most of us changed to Sunday, and now we're all posting on Monday lol. Since official chart date is still Saturday, I'd still like to attempt to post my future videos/posts on Saturday.
Such an important week on my chart, but sadly, I don't have much time to talk about it. Here's just a few real quick takeaways: -The Weeknd and Daft Punk's Starboy logs a 6th week at #1 and widens its lead over Hailee Steinfeld's Starving, and is expected to increase more next week thanks to the album release occurring on the first day of the tracking week. Starboy is just 3 weeks from tying the Peter Pan record and 4 weeks from passing it! With a massive point lead, it may actually become the second song in less than half a year to break this most weeks at #1 record! In addition, The Weeknd debuts 2 promo songs: Party Monster and I Feel It Coming, both at strong positions and will surge next week due to album release. -24K Magic surges 7 - 4 fueled by Bruno Mars's album release (it was a bit late for the album to grow on me). It seems to pose a challenge to Starboy, but with the album hype dying down, it won't break the top 3 stranglehold until at least two more weeks (Week 104), and from there, we'll see if it has the staying power to outlast Starboy. -What does have a chance, however, is Alan Walker's Sing Me To Sleep, continuing to bound 10 - 8 and is expected to continue rising over the next few weeks. I have a gut feeling that in a couple of weeks, it'll be a 3 way battle between Starboy, 24K Magic, and Sing Me To Sleep for the summit. -Kungs's This Girl starts slowing down, but not as much as Closer is falling, making the latter vulnerable to a top 10 takeover by False Alarm, which rises 14 - 12 this week and is likely to enter top 10 next week due to album release. How long it will last in the top 10, however, probably will depend on how The Weeknd's singles perform after the album hype -Don't Wanna Know cracks the top 20 this week. With its points gaining pretty fast, it's looking to leap frog First Time soon and enter the top 10 before the latter... and may prove to be the song that ends Don't Let Me Down's marathon top 10 run (which reaches its 35th week. It's just 3 more weeks from tying the Style record and 4 more weeks from breaking it, so its fate lies upon how quickly This Girl loses its traction and how quickly Don't Wanna Know bounds into the region, as First Time is really taking its time on its rise, not to mention top 10 is still in question for that song as it's just an album track from Kelsea - top 15 status is already amazing for it. -Maty Noyes's In My Mind cracks top 25 and is making a heck of an attack on the top. 80s Mercedes continues to rise to #26, but is looking to run out of gas soon. Can Maren outpeak her own My Church (peak 21)? It's looking to be close. Yeah Boy, Alone, Words, Mercy, All Time Low, Shout Out To My Ex, and last week's hot shot debut Chase You Down continue to make substantial gains. -7 debuts this week - all super strong ones! 2 of them are The Weeknd's promo tracks (see above) and 2 others being Bruno Mars's album tracks Versace On The Floor and Finesse. The Weeknd singles may have another week of strength due to album release, but I don't know how Bruno Mars's singles will fare. I really like Versace On The Floor a whole ton, like around the same level as 24K Magic, if not better, and I'm glad it's gonna be his next single. This may be a potential top 10. Other debuts are also VERY strong, the hot shot debut going to Britney Spears and Tinashe's Slumber Party at #52, just 2 spots above Party Monster, and is looking to have a very similar run as Make Me... (relatively unstable run at first but later surging to the high teens and has a chance of cracking top 10). Chris Young debuts his second single on my chart with Vince Gill with Sober Saturday Night, and is looking to be the head of the next generation of country songs high up on my chart (although it's been peaking on other charts, at least I think... could be wrong). The final debut goes to Machine Gun Kelly and Camila Cabello's collab Bad Things. I didn't even hear this song until mid Thanksgiving Break, so it didn't get a lot of points. However, I REALLY like this song and it's gonna make a huge rise next week and may actually be part of the next generation of dominaters. Dang, what a strong week for debuts, with 2 songs (Versace On The Floor and Bad Things) on track to hit top 10 and almost all the rest of the songs looking on track to also make major gains over the next few weeks!

The Weeknd f/ Daft Punk (7) Chicken077's Personal Chart - Week 103 (December 3, 2016):
Italics songs denote former or current #1 song Bold songs denote the song received a bullet this week Blue songs denote the song has spent 26 to 51 weeks in the top 100Red songs denote the song has spent 52 to 79 weeks in the top 100 Purple songs denote the song has spent 80 to 99 weeks in the top 100 Pink songs denote the song has spent 100+ weeks in the top 100 Green songs indicate a new or returning entry to the top 100
Again, sadly not enough time to make the spreadsheet format and color the songs. Here's what my chart looks like this week. I have a ton of work this weekend because we're finishing up our last units in school before the final. Since I have horrible short term memory but astonishing long term memory (I visited this psychologist back in the very ends of middle school in 2014 after the May 16 Incident that said my long term memory is legendary but that comes at a cost - my short term memory is one of the worst out there...), I tend to not study for finals and do pretty well, but everyday work/studying for tests get me very stressed. So next week I'll be done with all my exams and studying for finals won't take as long for me. I'll probably make spreadsheets for this week and last week's charts by then.

So this week is the first week of the 2017 Chart Year for my chart. As some probably know, my YE chart for 2015 ran from the last two weeks of December 2014 (week 1 and 2 on my chart) up to the last week of December 2015. This year, I am changing my tracking period, so from now on, the YE tracking period will last from December to November (another tracking period, the mid year tracking period, lasts from June to May). Expect a 2016 YE chart soon! Probably after I finish the top 200 songs of all time countdown over on my other thread.
And with the beginning of 2017, I have introduced a few new features on my chart. First, I am keeping track of the top songs of the year and of all time as time goes by, and not just all at once in the end (that's just too much work). So I will post the YTD top songs chart in a spoiler below the video every week. I will not post all time top songs so far until my countdown finishes, and I will not post Mid year 2016 - Mid year 2017 YTD so far, because I've changed point systems quite a bit in between and I haven't thought about how I will mix and match the point systems just yet. In addition, I changed the format of my videos. I finally switched away from Windows Movie Maker to a nonlinear video editor. Since I'm not that experienced, the video didn't turn out as well as I expected, but at least it's something for now. I like the captions much better (it's inspired by Testee and Jillboard lol), but the screen size is a tad bit too small (it won't let me size it up to 856x400, which is optimal for my videos. It always makes it be a 848x400 video. 8 pixels may not be much, but given that I'm a perfectionalist... it's too much for me lol). In addition, the transitions audio wise aren't the best, but idk if that's just me being too used to my old audio transitions or because they are not that good... Idk, I might try to get used to these new transitions for a few weeks and if I can't, I may have to try to program the video editor in a way so that it mimics WMM.
And man, this week is crazy. Short-ish summary/takeaways:
Starboy easily spends a 7th week at #1, and we've gotta admit, it's gonna take the record for most weeks at #1. The closest challenger at this moment is 24k Magic at #4, and that song is over 10k points off. I don't think it's gonna take over anytime soon... Ladies and gentlemen, we might have our first double digit weeks #1 song here! And of course, bad news for Starving as it continues to get held back at #2. It still gained, but it's slowing down as it spends a 12th week in the top 10 and a 6th week at #2, officially breaking the Dibs record for most weeks at #2 without hitting #1. Peter Pan continues to fall super slowly at #3, spending a record breaking 23 weeks in the top 3 and 25th week in the top 10. It does face competition next week, however, from Bruno Mars's 24k Magic, which falls a bit in points this week at #4 but that's only because album hype dying down. It spends a 4th week in the top 10 as it eyes on Peter Pan and Starving soon. The top 3 has remained static for the past 6 weeks, the longest it has remained static for in the history of my chart. Back in late 2015, however, the top 3 has been composed of the same 3 songs for 11 straight weeks (The Hills, Stitches, Wildest Dreams), though the positions have changed in between those 3 weeks.
Heathens gets a bit of a 6 - 5 recovery due to SNL performance on its 17th week in the top 10, but sadly, I don't see this lasting much longer. It faces competition next week from Alan Walker's Sing Me To Sleep, rising 8 - 6 on its 3rd week in the top 10 and likely challenger for the summit soon. Then we have Daya's Sit Still, Look Pretty, dropping 5 - 7 and holding a 26th week in the top 10. Can it last for 30 weeks in the top 10? It's looking to be close...
Then we have the battle for Don't Let Me Down breaking the most weeks in top 10 record currently held by Style at 38 weeks. DLMD spends a 36th week in the top 10, just 2 weeks from the record and 3 weeks from breaking it. But it faces a challenge from the slowing but not stopping until probably 1 or 2 more weeks This Girl, holding at #9 for a 3rd week. Next week, it looks as if both DLMD and This Girl might hold top 10, with Don't Wanna Know this week at #11, probably leaping them both. So that means the lower song between DLMD nd This Girl will have its fate depend on False Alarm, this week rising 12 - 10 due to album hype and if the hype continues, it might oust one of the two songs out of the top 10. If it doesn't both songs are safe for another week in top 10. But the week after it looks possible that two songs may enter top 10: First Time (not really likely tbh) and In My Mind (very likely). If both songs enter, then DLMD will gracefully exit the top 10 with 37 weeks in the region. If only one enters, then it depends if DLMD has the ability to outlast This Girl... Breaking the record is actually harder, since it's too tough to predict what will happen on DLMD's prospective 39th week in the top 10... And of course, that's assuming False Alarm will die down after Starboy hype ends... It's not looking good for DLMD, but hey, anything can happen...
Not a lot of time for the rest of the chart, but it's a very interesting week! And be sure to check out the video for some very interesting chart moves in the top 50 and the chart above for some even more interesting moves in the top 100!
