What are some songs that you think could've/should've been a duet? I was listening to a song tonight and I've always envisioned it as a duet. Also add the artist that first comes to your head. I can only think of a couple for now but I'll add some more.
"Cold Beer Conversation," George Strait (w/ Kenny Chesney) "On A Bus To St. Cloud" - Trisha Yearwood (w/ Garth Brooks or Clint Black) "Tell Me Why" - The Mavericks (w/ LeAnn Rimes)

"Drunk On A Plane" f/ Kacey Musgraves
I could see them swapping the second verse for the females take on the story, with Kacey giving backing vocals during the chorus.

I've always thought "Travelin' Soldier" would work well as a duet, with the male taking the verses (playing "the soldier") and the female singing the choruses. Not sure who I would peg for the duet.

"Guilty" by the Warren Brothers seems like it could be a duet with a female artist. It'd certainly make a better duet than "hey, let's have Sara Evans sing half a line on 'That's the Beat of a Heart'".

"All These Years" by Mac McAnally (covered by Sawyer Brown). Could easily envision a female artist singing the wife's part. Mary Chain Carpenter maybe?

Although amazing on its own... "Meanwhile" by George Strait (w/ Lee Ann Womack) I am still baffled at how I have no recollection of ever hearing "Meanwhile" on the radio, yet I remember stuff like "Slave to the Habit" or "Are Your Eyes Still Blue". "Meanwhile" is a beautiful song. Another one that's amazing on its own, but wouldn't hurt as a collab, is "Big Dreams in a Small Town" by Restless Heart. No idea which female they could have put on it though; maybe Rosanne Cash?

Because they both recorded a version of it I would've loved to hear Jason Aldean and Shannon Brown record a duet version of "Why".
