I was actually quite upset when she didn't put O Holy Night on Wrapped in Red. I wanted a full on orchestrated, traditional version to rid my mind of that off key, faux-gospel rendition she did on that Idol CD back in the day. This new version somewhat makes up for that. ;)

I can't wait to get in my car and listen to the new recording of O Holy Night. I will be interested in hearing it now vs. 15 years ago. I do find it interesting that she decided to record a song that she had previously recorded as opposed to some other classic that she had not done before. Knowing Kelly, she doesn't remember recording O Holy Night before. lol I would appreciate if you could post your thoughts :)

I wish it had a grander instrumentation but it’s probably perfect for the movie. Her voice is just so much better now. More nuanced, more lived in, still nailing all the big notes with ease. I prefer this to the old one, for sure. By the way, my husband hated WLW the first time he heard it. Thought it was so cheesy and silly and after carpool karaoke he is obsessed and asking me to play it non stop. If you only knew what a big deal that is. So even if the video doesn’t go viral, it has done wonders for WLW and my mind is absolutely open to a single push towards the end of the album run. Get that Bruno Mars feature and it could absolutely blow up.

As next single, how do you guys think about "I Don't Think About You"? This is one of the poweful and well-recorded ballad tracks by Kelly Clarkson and I think it's great single material. Atlantic Records and Kelly haven't announced anything yet but they seem to concentrate on next single on Grammy season next year.
Heat or Medicine is good to choice but I Don't Think About You is best choice from Grammy performance if she gets there.

The new version of "Oh Holy Night" is divine. How is WIR selling this holiday season thus far?

you guys think about "I Don't Think About You"? Average song, sung above averagely, with a super strong message to the 0.6% of people listening to it who know what it's about.

I really wish it had been the first single bc the vocal is a show stopper! This is going to be a really hard song for Kelly to flawlessly sing live, so I'm not sure I would be comfortable with a Grammy performance of it.

My feelings on the song are a bit more generous than this lol, but I don't think it's single material in the slightest and, while I think it's a good song, it's in the bottom tier of the album for me.

I there any place to track the weekly sales of 'Wrapped in Red'? As of 9/10/17, Billboard reported it having solid 942k copies in the US- wondering if it will cross 1 million by year's end. In my search for this information, I came across some cool reminder stats about 'Wrapped':
-Best-selling Christmas album of 2013 (22nd best-selling album of 2013) -First American female artist to have a #1 Christmas album in the Soundscan era -Best-selling Christmas album on Amazon -6th best-selling album of 2013 on Amazon

Mariah's house in LA and now Kelly's house too. Must be Stella the now fired vodka bag lady looking for Christmas classics to pawn on some defunct reality show.

Call me a non-believer, but I just don't hear what y'all are hearing when she performs "Meaning Of Life." Is it a great performance? Absolutely. But with a history of incredible performances, I wouldn't rank this song live anywhere near the top. The second chorus is nice, but it's no "Why Don't You Try" showcase, and the bridge is cool too (I'm glad she held the note a little longer tonight, that helped), but overall I just don't find this song very show-stopping live. I love it, and I'm happy to hear it live, but I'm bummed I'm not as taken by it as some of you are. There's a chance my opinion of this song live could be based solely on her mic not being loud enough in these performances, but I digress. Spoiled and petulant! Oh kidding. But seriously performances like that are a dime a dozen in this industry we can't expect perfection all the time when most these singers don't even use a mic (they use a Toys R Us prop). Turn up or down the hearing aid and let the music and vocals soothe your soul! I get so emotionally attached to her deliverance Everytime she sings live. Nobody sings live like that , nobody!

I noticed that the first two songs on her albums are always singles.
On All I Ever Wanted, Stronger and Piece by Piece they are released in the same order.
So I'm guessing the singles from Meaning of Life should be:
1. Love So Soft
2. Move You
3. Heat
4. Whole Lotta Woman/Meaning of Life (or both)

WLW is one of those songs that translates really well live (I've enjoyed every performance of it so far), but I absolutely cannot stand the studio version.

I think Move You is the Piece By Piece of this album. The Grammys would be a perfect venue for that, and reach a lot of people that don't keep up with Kelly or watch Late Night tv.
Someone start a poll. I think for the casual listener, Move You is more captivating than MOL.

"Move You" and its list of similes can sit in the corner. It had its brief time in the limelight with a high profile performance or two. Time to display all that this album has to offer. A true GRAMMY moment would be the title track with the full band, or something huge and big band-ish like "Didn't I."

Someone start a poll. I think for the casual listener, Move You is more captivating than MOL. Yes you still love Move You, no people still aren't biting. Again, a lil Music Industry 101. Typically if a label throws a song out along with, or shortly after the lead single (I know the boogie woogie experimental one you and the anti conformists so vehemently dislike), it's relegated to "instant grat" status. Whereby the artist and team will treat it as largely disposable but fit for purpose ("to show a different side"). As has been pointed out to you, Move You has had the most promotion outside of the radio single, and this magical Piece By Piece moment is yet to happen (keeping in mind I believe Piece By Piece's actual 'catch fire' performance was its first televised performance). Move You has no way near the personal echoes, nor any kind of specificity to the artist or the consumer, that Piece By Piece had. The achingly broad, junior high metaphors have had more than enough time and opportunity to set the world alight with a singular performance (as your diagnosed predecessor to it had) and that hasn't happened.

Move You is the worst song on the album by a mile, and it’s 100% because of the lyrics. Piece By Piece was the best song on that album by a mile, and it was 100% because of the lyrics.

I think if you replace PBP with the IDOL version, then it becomes the best song on the album. I never liked the production on the album version.

Kinda wishing she'd done a snippet of Underneath the Tree during Carpool Karaoke....would have been a good reminder this time of year, and a potential catapult.

I think Move You is the Piece By Piece of this album. I don't agree that Move You is the PBP of this album, but I really think that I Don't Think About You could be and I'm confused by the hate the song has been served on this board. I can see this having a viral moment later on after the second single has died down. Maybe on the finale of The Voice? Kelly has said that IDTAY is the most personal song to her on this album so i can see her getting emotional while singing it which the general public seems to really love.

I think you guys are seriously underestimating the power of the Piece By Piece performance if you think she can just get a moment like that again each era as long as she cries in front of a piano.

But why does she always have to get emotional while singing for the GP to appreciate her? Can't they pay more attention to the legend that Kelly already is?

I want to add that I wasn't suggesting she should get emotional as a stunt for promotion or publicity. I was simply stating that if any of the songs on the album had the power to impact in a way that PBP did that I think IDTAY is that song. I think you guys are seriously underestimating the power of the Piece By Piece performance if you think she can just get a moment like that again each era if she just cries in front of a piano. Also fair to say.

My MOL CD is skipping already! :tears: can’t remember the last time I burned a hole in a CD so quickly. Calling it now: 2019 GRAMMYs Album of the Year!

I was at a Christmas party last night and someone ruined my entire night by saying they weren’t into Kelly’s new album. Like, it doesn’t have to be your favorite. I get that for many kelly fans and people of a certain age there will never be anything better than Breakaway. But to not even like it? I just feel bad for him.
