What does that description mean? There are plenty of solo pop singers who have had more nominations. Do they just mean the Pop Solo category that Is only 7 years old? It means exactly what it says: she's received more Grammy pop solo nominations than anyone else. That isn't exactly what it says. "Pop Solo" wasn't even capitalized. Saying "the most nominated pop solo act" is no different than saying Beyonce is "the most nominated R&B female" or something, which is true even though she isn't the most nominated IN R&B Female.

WELP. There it is. I don't think it's the right choice, but I love the song. Both that and "Heat" have only continued to grow on me immensely (though I liked both from the start, particularly "Medicine"), but damn if "Heat" and those live performances aren't fire. It just feels like the better radio choice. Oh well!

I don't believe it's officially been chosen as a single yet as 1) it was taped weeks ago when they definitely weren't sure of the 2nd single 2) the press release doesn't specify "her new single" 3) we haven't heard any official radio news.
It will be an interesting test to see what the sales/streaming reception is.

Oh wait, isn't she doing "Heat" at some NYE thing that was taped, too? Maybe they'll see which gets a stronger response and go with that? THE ANTICIPATION!

They're obviously having a difficult time making a decision and they don't want to derail the era on the 2nd single so I think it's great they're taking their time to test each song out on different platforms while fine-tuning the live performances. Shows how much KC's team and Atlantic care about making this era last throughout 2018.

It feels like they've tested out Meaning of Life and Move You (and Whole Lotta Woman?) as well before Heat and Medicine. I just hope that the last single is WYCTL just to close the era with a song that combines old and new Kelly in a nice way. Speaking of WYCTL, I feel like it's MOL's 'You Love Me'. I just love her happy instrumental - sad lyrics twists! 'Hello' is also a great example.

It will be an interesting test to see what the sales/streaming reception is. It's about as official as it can be without them coming right out and saying it in a press release. I believe it was said at this taping that it was her new single and I know someone that spoke with an Atlantic rep this week at one of the radio shows that said it was.

At this point I would be absolutely shocked if it is not the next single. I prefer Heat but I don't think Medicine or Heat is going to perform that much better than the other and to be honest, I don't think either is going to fit in great at radio in the current market. Both are great songs and in the past would have been smashes but I will be pleased with top 20 for either one.

My local H&M was playing "Medicine" today and I lost it, I was dancing and lip syncing while filming myself (to send the video to my best friend who's an even bigger Kelly stan).
Highlight of my day.

I adore— ADORE— Medicine. It’s my second favorite track on the album, behind the title track, and exactly the kind of music I’ve long wanted to hear Kelly on. That being said I’m fairly surprised they’re going with it over “Heat” and over “Meaning of Life,”— and pretty apprehensive, considering how “Love So Soft” fared. Will be interesting to watch but I’m surprised that the label and Kelly decided this was the right path forward. Can’t see a hit in this given the current radio climate and Kelly’s status, but stranger things have happened, so fingers crossed!

I think Medicine is the right choice. I also think Heat or Meaning of Life would have been the right choices. I also think the next two or three singles could all peak higher than LSS.
2. Medicine 3. Would You Call That Love 4. Heat (or skip to five if we can’t go five deep) 5. Meaning of Life (GRAMMY MOMENT)

*Broken record alert* Am I the only one who sees the huge hit potential in “Didn’t I” or nah I mean, it's my favorite up-tempo of the album, but I don't trust its release given how "Love So Soft" performed. But it's been the biggest earworm of the album since we got those LQ live clips from that pre-release listening party in the Rainbow Room. I had the hook stuck in my head from that alone.

Uggggghhhh you're probably right. I keep rationing it in my head that if all of these recent left-of-center funk/groovy tunes can successfully break through on pop radio ("Uptown Funk," Passionfruit," "Feels," "Havana"), so can this, despite it being pretty deeply rooted in R&B/jazz. But I know Kelly's different considering the length of her career and the friendliness (or lack of) that T40 radio tends to show to acts who've been around as long as she has.

I'm here for "Medicine" as the next single. It's a bop and there's usually plenty of broken hearts after the holiday season. Breakup song of 2018 please.

It’s funny because I can totally see this and breakup songs have obviously been her bread and butter. But, most people won’t realize that the “breakup song” is actually referring to a label separation. I feel like this is the up tempo I Don’t Think About You.

"The Voice" Germany. It sounds like Kelly has a cold or a sinus infection. :( When she talks she sounds really stuffed up. But when she sings, it's amazing!

Guys did you see how Billboard named its top 100 awards show performances of all time and Kelly was #16 with her SUBG VMA performance? I'm so mad at myself because I didn't like it when I first saw it and now I watch it and it's truly iconic. We have been so blessed with those vocals but for that one she gave us a performance of a true world superstar. One of her top ten ever for me.

She slayed the VMA "Since U Been Gone" performance. That, the CDUSA "Walk Away" performance, and the Vh1 acoustic session performances were my absolute favs that era. "Hear Me" at AOL was incredible too.
I was stanning Kelly hard back then. All the way up until the end of the All I Ever Wanted era.

Anyway, still nice to see that performance get some love!
