Good:
Wasn't That Drunk - I love fiddles and good lyrics
Roots - Restrained production and a glaring lack of electronics mean it's dead on arrival in today's country
Record Year - Somehow Eric Church is the most unpredictable yet reliable artist in the industry
Bluebonnets - Texas artists keep me sane
Outskirts of Heaven - Too country for the suburban soccer moms
The One You're Waiting On - Music Row will truly be dead when Alan Jackson follows George Strait into retirement
Holdin' Her - I would not have believed redemption was possible for Chris Janson, but here we are
Parachute - Radio has grudgingly acknowledged Chris Stapleton is a country artist who exists, so now they are free to ignore him
Head Over Boots - Alan Jackson had the right of it when he said Jon Pardi was one of the few new "country" artists playing country music
I Met A Girl - What did he do that Mo Pitney didn't?
Mediocre: American Country Love Song - It's better than "Real Life." That's something, right?
Church Bells - Three singles into "Storyteller," we finally get a song that tells a story
Night's on Fire - Well, I like the line about the blackbird...
Sierra - I hate songs that dance around profanity. Just use it or don't, they sound stupid the way it is
Without a Fight - Just because Brad's music hasn't declined as badly as others' doesn't mean I can't be disappointed
Middle of a Memory - The fact I don't have a viscerally negative reaction to a Cole Swindell song confuses and infuriates me
H.O.L.Y - Takes a revered place among FGL's discography as not being actively offensive to musical decency
If The Boot Fits - The Granger Smith I knew and loved died somewhere between Texas and Nashville. Luckily, Music Row's clone has a passing resemblance, if I squint hard enough
Bad:
Different For Girls - Dierks Bentley makes a record breaking fall from grace in the space of one album
She's Got a Way With Words - Blake Shelton, on the other hand, took the better part of his career to reach such a low. But perhaps I shouldn't judge, seeing as I don't think I've ever stayed awake all the way to the end of this song
Fix - "Sexhales." End of story
Lights Come On - Bad rock combined with bad country does not lead to negatives canceling out
Wasted Time - No, a banjo break does not make a country song out of a pile of electronic trash
Vacation - Stop, stop, country radio is already dead, there's no need to flay the corpse

I Met A Girl - What did he do that Mo Pitney didn't? He signed a recording contract with Warner Music Nashville. Mo signed one with Curb Records.
