No mention for Lindsey Stirling? Her last album hit #2 with 56k 2 years ago.

Great numbers for Dolly.

hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=302579Saturday, August 20, 2016 FRANK OCEAN BRINGS A BLONDE TO THE PARTYIn the wake of his video album, Frank Ocean has dropped a "proper" full-length, Blonde (or Blond, as the cover art has it), which has dutifully flown to #1 at iTunes (all tracks are locked for album purchase only, and a store takeover is in effect) while also streaming on Apple Music. The 17-song set features single "Nikes," for which a video appeared this morning.

Frank Ocean's 'Blonde' Album Heading for No. 1 Debut on Billboard 200 Chartby Keith Caulfield Frank Ocean is set for his first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart with his new album, Blonde, according to industry forecasters. The album was released on Aug. 20 exclusively for sale through the iTunes Store and to stream via Apple Music. www.rap-up.com/2016/08/22/frank-ocean-blonde-first-week-sales-predictions/FRANK OCEAN’S ‘BLONDE’ SET TO DEBUT AT NO. 1Frank Ocean is headed to the top of the Billboard 200 for the first time ever thanks to Blonde. According to Billboard, industry forecasters predict that the album, which dropped Saturday (Aug. 20) exclusively through Apple, will sell 225,000 equivalent album units in its first week. By comparison, Ocean’s previous album channel ORANGE sold 131,000 copies in its opening week back in 2012. It debuted and peaked at No. 2. So far, Blonde has garnered rave reviews. Rolling Stone gave it a 4/5 star rating, Adele called it better than channel ORANGE, and Kanye West says he has the album “on repeat.”

Pretty much expected #s for Frank. Blonde will also easily surpass the traditional sales of CO, the question is will it spend several weeks at #1 and/or reach platinum status?

Frank Ocean (Boys Don't Cry) 265-290k SPS, 225-240k album First week sales of Blonde will likely double the first week sales of Channel Orange, which opened with 131k in July 2012. Since the tracks are currently album-only at iTunes, presumably just for the first week, Blonde’s SPS additions will come solely from streams. In Blonde’s exclusive, abbreviated first week at Apple Music, streams from the album could exceed 50 million. ( HDD)

Is Barbra really expecteed to do 150+? I think maybe 80-120k at best. Maybe britney will eclipse 100k if she's lucky but it will be a struggle.

Great numbers for Frank. I expect him to crash next week since it's a pretty cult-y thing going on but it's still a great opening. Hopefully SS will sustain a little as tracks are released for individual purpose and the Apple exclusive ends.

I forgot how big Barbra was for her last release, but it was a widely publicized album featuring high profiled duets. Her album before that sold much, much less (but still very respectable). Is there buzz around this release? Is she doing massive promo?

Tory Lanez (Mad Love/Interscope) 35-40k SPS, 25-30k album Dolly Parton (Dolly/RCA Nashville) 20-25k, 20-25k I highly doubt it, but are those numbers for Dolly Parton good enough for her to nab her seventh #1 country album?

There is an album/ticket promotion for Barbra Streisand's album, so that will boost the numbers somewhat (even though she did a rather small number of shows).
Spears' lead single sold less than 100K in its first week, so can the album top that figure? An observation: the previous two albums' lead singles sold more in their first weeks than the albums did. Maybe this album will reverse that trend.
Florida Georgia Line may be the one to beat.

Very possible - Justin Moore would have to drop 50% and Blake Shelton would have to not increase. So actually pretty likely

Nick- yes. Did you not notice the other posts that mentioned the 8/26 releases? :)
For this particular week, though, Frank Ocean's numbers are very impressive. And the Queen of Country should land herself a top-10-selling album. Cray that it will be only her second such solo effort to do so- and even crazier to think that many of her early albums didn't even crack the top 200.

You know I love discussing possible estimates. I had forgotten about BJ's lowly 106k. I think she could do a bit better, but her first single is over at radio.

I know pretty much nothing about Amos Lee except for the record he held until last year (the worst-selling #1-selling album, dethroned by Descendants). I thought Cake held that record after Amos Lee. Maybe not tho. They held the record in the opposite order. Cake had it on 1/29/11 with 44k, then Amos Lee took it two weeks later (2/12/11) with 40k. Also, just to clarify, Descendants took the record for lowest pure album sales for a #1 album since the Billboard 200 started tracking SPS (30k), and if the BB200 were still being calculated based solely on sales it would have taken the lowest-selling record outright. But its sales with SPS factored in (42k) were just enough so that Amos Lee technically still holds the dubious honor. Rihanna/Anti now holds the record for lowest number of pure albums units for a #1 (59k SPS its first week, with 17k being pure album sales), I think? I don't recall if Views' album sales dropped that low.
