Thanks for the heads up Orange Clouds! Hot on the heels of D.H.T.'s "Listen To Your Heart" is another Roxette track for the dancefloors. This time, the original Roxette vocal is used. This will be released on July 25 in the UK on the All Around The World label. This could possibly do well too. Here is the CD cover.

I have the song ...very much like "Call On Me" style. More vocal of the original is been used this time ... And that's great! I see this getting huge in UK but I don't see it doing that good here in US.

The radio mix I have is really good...full vocal of the original Roxette song.

C89.5 has been mixing this in their mixshows for the last month or so - usually during Richard J. Dalton's noontime sets. The original is one of my favorite Roxette songs.
MuscleClub, I'd love to get a copy of the radio mix you have, if it's not too much trouble. :)

First off, many thanks to MuscleClub for sending me this track. When I heard this in the mix, it had that novelty factor that jumped out at me. But after a week of listening to it on its own, I'm afraid I'll have to stick with the original version. Yes, more vocals are used here than you'll find in the slew of other Eric-Prydz style remakes of 80's (OK, early 90's in this case) classics, but not enough to keep me interested for very long.
Dance music already has such an image problem in the States - although songs with a built-in familiarity factor may offer a temporary solution, I don't believe the cranking out of such unoriginal product is going to help the genre in the long run.

Dance music already has such an image problem in the States - although songs with a built-in familiarity factor may offer a temporary solution, I don't believe the cranking out of such unoriginal product is going to help the genre in the long run. The whole "Eric Prydz-style" remakes have gotten really boring. There's too many of them. And considering it has only been a year since all these types of remakes started. I wish they would give it up and stop these remake. This Roxette one is okay. I like that the original vocals were used, but it's just not happening anymore. Ministry Of Sound (UK) has been releasing one remake after the other. First it was Eric Prydz, the Uniting Nations, then Cabin Crew, and let's hope it stops there. And then a lot of the other labels have gotten into the act too. Thankfully, there are many more quality records than this. During the last year there have been those amazing records from Shapeshifters. They have really taken us "back to basics." Their style of music is more mid 70's disco with some modern elements. Those type came in moderation, and I am still liking those today. Then there's all those remakes of old songs. Like cover versions or remakes of songs from a couple years ago. Again, MOS seems to be releasing only those. Little original stuff has come on their label. Like the Dana Rayne, Studio B featuring Romeo and Angel City ones. A couple of the Angel City ones had just been released a couple years ago and they are covering it already! The Dana Rayne one was quite good. The original versions were different from the new ones. And it was great track. The Studio B one had also come just a couple years ago too. I hope some new types/styles come about. I'll step off of my soapbox now.

Dance music is making a comeback, thanks in part to the huge 80's revival. One of the biggest sources of the dance comeback is also the most unlikeliest source: Hip Hop. I had gotten so used to hating hip hop that it's been difficult for me to see, but consider Nina Sky's "Move Ya Body," Destiny's Child's "Lose My Breath," Missy Elliott's "Lose Control" just for starters. These songs didn't need to be remixed (though I'm greatful they were) in order to be dance songs. There is a new show from the makers of "American Idol" coming in July on FOX called "So You Think You Can Dance." Should be interesting...

All the Ciara, new Missy Elliot, Nina Sky, and those kind of songs were ready for the clubs without remixes. The remixes took it to the next level. This could possibly a new sort of revival.

This just got added at KTU. I liked it enough over the summer, but I'm hoping for it to get big, cause it's so damn catchy.
