At this point, I'm half expecting Closer to be the next airplay #1. Send My Love is falling faster than Cheap Thrills now and Cold Water's lead on Closer is getting smaller.

Hoping they call it a buzz track and move on. Kinda like Rihanna did with FourFiveSeconds and BBHMM 😂 It seems artists are coming out with many "first singles" these days. In other words, constantly playing revisionist history on us where if a single flops, they say "oh, that was just a buzz track, the real first single is, so and so...coming up next." It's annoying, but in many ways it makes sense and might be somewhat legit, both financially and artistically. The labels don't have to commit and invest as much into manufacturing physical copies and promoting one first single as in the olden days, so this gives them wiggle room to allow the public a taste of several different tracks before the album comes out, kind of like spewing seeds around and whichever catches on, they choose to go with. |

'Born This Way' had a week-long deal, I believe. Then Madonna had a 3-day deal with 'Give Me All Your Luvin'. I don't know of any other confirmed multi-day deals past those two (I swear Justin had one for 'Can't Stop The Feeling' but IDK if that was just radio being waaaay too enthusiastic). |

I think I said 7-day deal because I forgot that on debut weeks, when a song gains 3M AI, it actually just got that much AI that day (instead of getting 3M more than the previous day).

What is the last song that similiar to what happened to Perfect illusion? Losing 12.000+ AI is really a thing... even CSTF not losing that much in it's last 7 days.

Oh my gosh, how many times do we need to explain this. Perfect Illusion lost so much yesterday due to the 8TH DAY EFFECT: It had a radio deal its first day, giving it around 15 mil or so, but obviously during its eight day, yesterday, it didn't receive as much, so the 12 MIL loss just shows how many fewer impressions it got compared to that 1st day. So yesterday it received about 3 mil AI, which is about what its been getting everyday since the first day.
I'm not at all saying PI is a smash right out of the gate, but its not falling as precipitously as some of you might think.

- Broccoli is currently blowing up and its streaming could very well be higher than calculated, but I doubt it'll reach any higher than #10 this week.
- Treat You Better seems likely to re-enter the top 10 due to gaining much on radio and also on streaming. This will probably mess up everyone on the prediction competition thread lol.
- Also, I've currently got Perfect Illusion predicted to debut at #16 below the 13 above, One Dance, and Into You.
