Damn at "Needed Me" falling out. I really hope "Love on the Brain" or some new song/collab is able to keep Rihanna's top 10 streak going. Hopefully she'll be able to beat her 45 streak back in 2010-11. She's been in the top 10 since "Love Yourself" went number 1.

www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/7511322/the-chainsmokers-closer-hot-100-dj-snake-justin-bieberThe Chainsmokers Top Hot 100, DJ Snake & Justin Bieber Bound to Top 109/19/2016 by Gary Trust "Closer" reigns for a fifth week, while "Let Me Love You" surges from No. 12 to No. 6. The Chainsmokers lead the Billboard Hot 100 (dated Oct. 1) for a fifth week with "Closer," featuring Halsey. Meanwhile, DJ Snake hits the top 10 with "Let Me Love You," featuring Justin Bieber. As we do every Monday when the chart is refreshed, let's look at the Hot 100's top 10 and more. Highlights of the airplay, sales and streaming-based Hot 100 post on Billboard.com each Monday, with all charts updated each Tuesday. "Closer," released on Disruptor/Columbia Records, and the first Hot 100 No. 1 for both EDM duo The Chainsmokers (Drew Taggart and Alex Pall) and featured alt/pop singer-songwriter Halsey, spends a sixth week atop the Digital Songs chart with 170,000 downloads sold (down 15 percent) in the week ending Sept. 15, according to Nielsen Music. "Closer" tops the Streaming Songs chart for a fifth week, with 39.5 million U.S. streams (down 2 percent), and the audio subscription services-based On-Demand Songs streaming chart (23.3 million on-demand clicks, down 4 percent) for a sixth frame. On Radio Songs, "Closer" jumps 9-4, drawing 113 million in airplay audience, up 24 percent; it wins the Hot 100's top Airplay Gainer award for a third week. "Closer" additionally tops Billboard's Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart for a fifth week. Twenty One Pilots' "Heathens" holds at its No. 2 Hot 100 high, as the duo (Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun) keeps at its best rank; its "Stressed Out" peaked at No. 2 in February. "Heathens" remains at No. 2 on Streaming Songs (21.7 million, up 5 percent); drops 2-3 on Digital Songs, but with a 7 percent gain to 91,000; and hikes 15-11 on Radio Songs (82 million, up 21 percent). It logs a sixth week at No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Rock Songs chart. Major Lazer's "Cold Water," featuring Justin Bieber and MO, is stationary at No. 3 on the Hot 100, after reaching No. 2. It stays at No. 3 on Streaming Songs, where it spent its first three weeks at No. 1, with 19.6 million U.S. streams (up 2 percent) and slips 3-4 on Digital Songs, which it led for a week (upon its debut), but with a 27 percent gain to 71,000 sold (helped by a 69-cent price tag in the iTunes Store during the tracking week; as of Friday, Sept. 16, it went back to the regular $1.29). It rises 4-3 on Radio Songs (115 million, up 7 percent). As previously reported, "Water" takes over at No. 1 on the Pop Songs radio airplay chart. Notably, while an official lyric video was released for "Water" on July 21, a new "dance video" for the song arrived Sept. 15. The new clip could help the song's fortunes on the Hot 100 going forward. (Keep reading for more Bieber news …) Sia's former four-week Hot 100 No. 1 "Cheap Thrills," featuring Sean Paul, is a non-mover at No. 4, while remaining the most-heard song on U.S. radio, tallying a seventh week at No. 1 on Radio Songs (134 million, down 6 percent). Additionally, Sia's new single, "The Greatest," featuring Kendrick Lamar, soars 52-24 in its second week on the Hot 100; it takes top Streaming Gainer honors, fueled by its 177 percent streaming increase, to 10.2 million, following the Sept. 5 arrival of its official video. Rounding out the Hot 100's top five, The Chainsmokers' other song in the bracket, the No. 3-peaking "Don't Let Me Down," featuring Daya, stays at No. 5. (Thus, the top five is identical to last week, marking the first such repeat since the June 18-dated Hot 100.) DJ Snake's "Let Me Love You," featuring Bieber, reaches the Hot 100's top 10 in its sixth week on the chart, vaulting 12-6. The track retreats 4-5 on Streaming Songs (14.6 million, essentially even week-over-week) and falls 5-10 on Digital Songs (which it led upon its debut on the Aug. 27 chart), down by 10 percent to 41,000, although it charges 25-18 on Radio Songs (57 million, up 27 percent). DJ Snake scores his third Hot 100 top 10, following two No. 4 hits: "Turn Down for What," with Lil Jon (2014), and "Lean On," with Major Lazer and featuring MO (2015). Bieber lands his 11th Hot 100 top 10, and his fifth song to rank in the region in 2016, pushing him past Drake for the most top 10s by any act this year. (Having notched his first top 10, "Baby," featuring Ludacris, in 2010, Bieber boasts the third-most top 10s among male artists this decade, after Drake, with 15 in that span, and Bruno Mars, with 12. Bieber is in sixth place among all acts this decade; Rihanna leads with 17 Hot 100 top 10s in the 2010s.) Calvin Harris' No. 3-peaking "This Is What You Came For," featuring Rihanna, holds at No. 7 on the Hot 100, and Shawn Mendes' "Treat You Better" roars back to the Hot 100's top 10 at its peak (13-8), first set on the Sept. 24 chart. It bumps 8-5 on Radio Songs (104 million, up 10 percent) and 18-15 on Streaming Songs (10.6 million, up 1 percent). It tumbles 23-33 on Digital Songs (23,000, down 19 percent, following its second week back at $1.29 in the iTunes Store following its earlier 69-cent sale run). Capping the Hot 100's top 10, Twenty One Pilots' second song in the Hot 100's top 10, "Ride," descends 6-9, after reaching No. 5, and Adele's "Send My Love (To Your New Lover)" drops to No. 10 from its No. 8 highpoint. Find out more Hot 100 news in the weekly "Hot 100 Chart Moves" column and other posts later this week, and visit Billboard.com tomorrow (Sept. 20), when all rankings, including the Hot 100 in its entirety, will refresh.

How in the nine hells is TYB back after freefalling so far in sales? It sure isn't gaining in streaming by now, and radio doesn't count for that much. Is Billboard giving more points no non-discounted tracks now? At least the top 10 still doesn't contain bith Shawn Mendes and Charlie Puth, but the sooner TYB goes away, the better.
Anyways, looks like the top 2 is locked for the next few weeks. Cold Water's falling in sales, and the videos didn't go viral. It's beginning to look like LMLY will probably be the one to replace at least Heathens, but not for a while.

She got 3 top 10 hits already this year so she has the momentum. Unfortunately she won't get to break the consecutive weeks in the top 10 since TIWYCF will fall out in a few weeks and LOTB won't have impact at least a month from now.

Into You at #17 on Week 18. Hopefully it can become her longest lasting song on the Hot 100! Currently that title is held by The Way with 26 weeks (or if you count Bang Bang, 31, but I can't see it beating that)

"Starving" is at #33. Why the sudden hate on for Treat You Better? Or is it a case of 2 people who've decided to go on and on about how much they hate it? Most likely the latter. Also, if I were to express my opinion on that song here, that would make it 3 people.

Why the sudden hate on for Treat You Better? Or is it a case of 2 people who've decided to go on and on about how much they hate it? You know that creepy asshole who wants to get with someone so badly that they're actively trying to break them up and convince them that they're soooooo much better? Yeah, this is the musical equivalent of that. It didn't work for Old Dominion, and it doesn't work here. That's why I personally hate it, at least. Not sure about anyone else here.

www.yahoo.com/music/chart-watch-a-not-so-perfect-debut-for-lady-gagas-perfect-illusion-211609589.htmlChart Watch: A Not-So-Perfect Debut for Lady Gaga's 'Perfect Illusion'by Paul Grein, Writer September 19, 2016 Lady Gaga’s “Perfect Illusion,” her first single after a three-year hiatus from pop music, enters this week’s Hot 100 at #15. That debut chart ranking is right on “The Edge of Glory,” to cite the title of a 2011 Gaga hit, but it’s but not quite there. Nine singles so far this year have debuted in the top 10. It would have been reasonable to expect Gaga’s first single after a long layoff to follow suit. It’s especially disappointing given Gaga’s track record. The first singles from her last three major solo pop projects all debuted in the top 10. “Bad Romance,” the first single from her EP The Fame Monster, debuted at #9. “Born This Way,” the lead single (and title track) from her second full-length album, debuted at #1. “Applause,” the lead single (and title track) from her third full-length, debuted at #6. “Applause” was a major hit (it spent its first 14 weeks in the top 10), but the second and third official singles from Gaga’s Artpop album (“Do What U Want” and “G.U.Y.”) fell short of the top 10. “G.U.Y.” peaked at an embarrassing #76. Faced with resistance at pop radio for the first time in her career, Gaga wisely pursued other things. She recorded an album with Tony Bennett, Cheek to Cheek, which hit #1 and won a Grammy. She recorded an Oscar-nominated song, “Til It Happens to You,” for The Hunting Ground, a documentary about campus rape. This is second time in the past two months that a female superstar has debuted disappointingly with her first single after a long layoff. Katy Perry’s “Rise” debuted and peaked at #11. Last week, the ballad, which was tied to the Summer Olympics, dropped from #53 to #62 in its eighth week. To be clear, a #11 record is nothing to be ashamed of. But it was disappointing given Perry’s hit-studded track record. “Perfect Illusion” is the first single from Gaga’s fifth full-length studio album Joanne, which is due Oct. 21. Gaga’s song enters Top Digital Songs at #2, behind the Chainsmokers’ “Closer” (featuring Halsey). “Perfect Illusion” sold 100K copies in its first week. “Closer” sold 170K in its seventh. Trivia note: “Perfect Illusion” is the third “Perfect” record to make the top 20 on the Hot 100. It follows Huey Lewis & the News’ “Perfect World” (#3 in 1988) and One Direction’s “Perfect” (#10 in 2015). Top SongsThe Chainsmokers’ “Closer” (featuring Halsey) tops the Hot 100 for the fifth straight week. It also heads the U.K.’s Official Singles Chart for the third week. And it heads Top Digital Songs for the sixth week. The entire top five remains in place from last week. twenty one pilots’ “Heathens” holds at #2 in its 13th week. Major Lazer’s “Cold Water” (featuring Justin Bieber and MØ) holds at #3 its eighth week. Sia’s “Cheap Thrills” (featuring Sean Paul) holds at #4 in its 31st week. The Chainsmokers’ previous hit, “Don’t Let Me Down” (featuring Daya), holds at #5 in its 31st week. DJ Snake’s “Let Me Love You” (featuring Justin Bieber) jumps from #12 to #6 in its sixth week. It’s DJ Snake’s third top 10 hit; Bieber’s 11th. This is Bieber’s fifth top 10 hit so far in 2016, which is more than any other artist. Drake is in second place, with four top 10 hits so far this year. Incidentally, this is the second song titled “Let Me Love You” to become a top 10 hit. A Mario song with the same title logged nine weeks at #1 in 2005. Calvin Harris’s “This Is What You Came For” (featuring Rihanna) holds at #7 in its 20th week. Shawn Mendes’s “Treat You Better” returns to the top 10, jumping from #13 to #8 in its 15th week. In “Treat You Better,” Mendes urges a girl he likes to ditch the bad boy she’s seeing and give a nice guy a chance. Mendes sings: “I know I can treat you better than he can/And any girl like you deserves a gentleman.” Ne-Yo brought this rather old-fashioned word back into modern usage in the title of his 2008 album Year of the Gentleman. Two songs round out the top 10. twenty one pilots’ previous hit, “Ride,” drops from #6 to #9 in its 27th week. Adele’s “Send My Love (To Your New Lover)” drops from #8 to #10 in its 18th week. Two songs— Rihanna’s “Needed Me” and Charlie Puth’s “We Don’t Talk Anymore” (featuring Selena Gomez)—drop out of the top 10 this week.

I hope Adele releases one last single from 25 before she totally goes on hiatus again, please keep the album's presence until the holidays please or even the Grammys but all signs point that she's done with the era :( ...what signs? Also, she hardly has to be present to keep the era going. Releasing singles doesn't need the artist. Her label knows what they're doing and knows how stupid it would be not to keep the album going up through the Grammys to maximize sales. Not accepting the super bowl invitation (even though NFL denied giving a formal invitation), reports saying she'll accept a Las Vegas residency and will not tour anymore to focus on her family. I really hope she gives one last hurrah for 25 if she really plans to go on indefinite hiatus to focus on raising her child

It is completely bizarre to me how little effort both Drake and Adele have put into follow up singles after huge lead tracks. You could argue they don't have to but it certainly wouldn't have hurt. Baffling.

I really hope she gives one last hurrah for 25 if she really plans to go on indefinite hiatus to focus on raising her child She denied the halftime show because she felt she doesn't suit the stage, which is pretty true. The halftime show features performers that put on theatrics or usually perform in big arenas. No matter how big Adele gets, she will always be the type of artist who just prefers giving simple performances that connect with the audience in a personal level, which is very hard to do with the halftime show. And as far as going on tour hiatus, that is vastly different from promoting an album. Especially the current one that shows no signs of being over. Promoting an album takes a few trips spread out over a few weeks with the occasional performance for later singles. That's completely manageable with a family life. Touring requires months upon months of travelling and being away from your family. Plenty of artists have successful albums without large tours, and if there is anyone who can pull it off, it's Adele. She hardly needs to tour to tell people she has new music. Also, just because she says she wants to take a touring hiatus doesn't mean she will. At least not as long of one as she mentioned.

Baffling. How much effort exactly did Drake put in any of the previous singles from this album? He didn't even bother shooting videos for them and I could be wrong but I don't remember him performing them on TV or stuff like that.
