This occurred to me in another thread, and I am not sure if they specifically charted at the same time, but 1988 brought a lyrical coincidence. "Nite and Day" charted that year and of course includes "night and day" in it. "Seasons Change" charted and of course references the seasons. "Two Occasions" charted that year, too, and includes "night and day" and also goes through the seasons" so it sort of bridges the three songs.

Every song in the top 3 of the Hot 100 both this week and last (Save Your Tears, Leave the Door Open, Peaches) is in the key of C major.
I'm not sure if this has ever happened before, where every song in the top 3 is in the exact same key. Fellow music nerds, if this has occurred before, please let me know.

In the calendar year 1982, there were top 40 hits by America, Asia, Chicago and Kansas, as well as the debut of songs titled Africa and Down Under (a reference to Australia).
I wonder if, when Boston and Europe charted together in 1987, one of those other bands called them up and said, "What kept you?"

ITunes chart 5/23/2021
32 Imagine Dragons - Radioactive $ 33 The Weeknd - Blinding Lights
Maybe a sign of things to come, as Blinding Lights continues to chase Radioactive's longevity record on the Hot 100.

Olivia blocked Ariana, Megan, and Doja with her first number one hit, and now blocked a different trio - J. Cole, Morray, and 21 Savage with her second.

Assuming Butter debuts at #1 tomorrow (barring anything crazy happening), all 3 of BTS' solo #1's will have debuted there on three consecutive charts dated the 5th of the month.
"Dynamite" on September 5, 2020 "Life Goes On" on December 5, 2020 "Butter" on June 5, 2021

On today's UK Singles chart...
Good Without by Mimi Webb #10 this week #10 last week #10 peak 10 weeks on chart
Little Mix have 2 collaborative tracks directly next to each other in the top 10 (Heartbreak Anthem with Galantis & David Guetta at #8; Confetti with Saweetie at #9).
Due to the 3-songs-per-artist rule, Olivia Rodrigo's debut promoted single Drivers License returns to #6, which is the sum of the placements of her third single Good 4 U (#1) and second single Deja Vu (#5) this week.

Before You Go and Someone You Loved are back to back this week on the Hot 100 Recurrents chart. Yikes, BYG really did not age well after leaving the Hot 100. I wouldn’t be surprised if we’re in this situation next year (maybe even later this year) with BL and SYT.

^Perhaps Circles and Sunflower can manage it as well, although Circles has held up better than I thought it would.

Good 4 U by Olivia and Exhale (Shoop Shoop) by Whitney have the same chart run of its first ten weeks (1-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2) which is somehow fascinating... g4u can add two more weeks if it manages to hold on at #2 (as exhale spent 11 weeks at #2).
