This was the first single from 2009's The Element of Freedom. She wrote and produced it with frequent collaborator, Kerry "Krucial" Brothers. It peaked at #14 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, #60 on the Hot 100 and #8 in the UK. I didn't like this at all. This is definitely when her music started to take a turn for the worse.

A sad attempt to recreate the success of "No One." Just an average okay song, not a station changer for me. Her follow-ups from this album were obviously better.
It does have one of the worst lyrics ever written IMO ("Cause I don't want no pie if I have to cry"). Seriously, ugh, that's right up there with "Hi my name is Bob and I work at my job."

Bad and blatant attempt to recreate "No One".

Yah, this is a rehash if I ever heard one. It was just OK to me. Came and went.

Extremely disappointing when I first heard it. Amongst the bottom of her singles and the second worst song on that album after the Beyonce collaboration.

I always enjoyed the instrumental of this one. It was a sing-along one, but it drags on. Definitely shouldn't be a lead, however, I enjoyed when she performed this live though.

Low key bop, but it was mad similar to "No One".

I really liked this when it first came out and still do. Although the album had much stronger songs/single choices.

From my understanding, this was a label's choice.
All I know when "...Broken Heart" was released, she forgot about this one completely. She didn't have one care at all to perform it like she did before.

Shame on the label for such a stupid move.

Disliked this a lot. Her career has never been the same after this (but I did love Try Sleeping with a Broken Heart).

Shame on the label for such a stupid move. Sadly anything could have worked as a single beside this, the Beyone's track and "Distance and Time". I remember a poster mentioning "Love Is Blind" should have been a lead single with a feature rapper, in which I agreed to. It would have shown a different side of Alicia while still a good side of her. It was a statement song from her current situation at that time. I think this lead single made it impossible for "...Broken Heart" to be a big hit that it should have been if it was lead. Luckily, "Unthinkable" was too good to ignore it with good success (even though it should have been a top 10 at least on Hot 100, imo)
