With such minuscule daily updates, is this going to fall out of the Top 50 on the 8th day? If it keeps up like this, absolutely. raylatch98 has a good point about this being the weekend, but if Tuesday's update shows less than 30 new spins again, I would think it will for sure fall out on the 8th day.

"Today" indeed falls out of the top 50 on today's update. It will definitely return at some point though (quite possibly even tomorrow) as its spins picked up throughout the week.

Why does Brad Paisley still keep his bullet on the airplay chart when Today lost 332 spins and 4.4 million in audience impressions? Yet, it fell from #25 to #37. Thanks.

I take back my previous post. This has really grown on me. The first thing that caught me is that it doesn't quite follow the usual verse-chorus-verse-chorus structure.

This is indeed much better than 'Without A Fight', and I hope it eventually reaches #1.
Hard to believe it was exactly a decade ago this week that the downright wonderful 'She's Everything' began a 3-week run at #1, replacing Sugarland's two-week charttopper 'Want To' in the process.

I kind of forget that this one is still plugging away. I can see it making the top 10 (and probably the top 5), but I have a hard time thinking that it will get all the way to #1.

Yeah this is is going to get the album out but I'm not sure if this can go all the way too the top. Outside of Chris Young and Granger Smith, Brad Paisley has the worst sales in the Top 20. Also Luke Bryan is going to be soon approaching along with the back and forth with Eric Church/Rhiannon Giddens leaves Brad Paisley in an intresting spot, he's at 13 weeks old and the album will be released in early March so I wouldn't be shocked if this did make it all the way to #1 but this songs chart climb has been rather uneventful as a whole.

Yeah, this will at least get the album out, but I don't see #1 happening. Brad is at the stage of his career now that it will take a really special song and big hit to make it all the way to #1.

Top 5 is a bloodbath right now and I think "Today" could become a causality. Let me explain.
LBT are #1 this week and ran a Power Up add in Billboard Country Update Weekly, indicating their desire to stay at #1 for another week. It's a strong song and the album doesn't even come out until Friday, so they shall receive their wish. Next up is Chris who will be maxing the week after and is riding high off his two giant hits. "Sober Saturday Night" took a long time to get started, but it has been performing well recently and the only way I see it not reaching #1 at this point is if LBT choose to push for 3 weeks. But even still, I think Chris is in great shape.
Next, Brad is surrounded by two songs that are absolutely surging right now. Both "Think A Little Less" and "Dirt On My Boots" have been posting crazy updates (both increased over 4 million in audience this past week alone) and have strong sales and callout scores to boast. Hard to imagine either one missing out at #1 at this juncture. Which leaves us with "Today". "Today" isn't doing bad either, but its currently sandwiched between two young studs on the charts. Brad's already at 20 weeks on the chart, which is normally about how long his songs chart for, especially considering this song is practically serving as a lead single. Jon should make the pass next week unless he suddenly halts his updates. Can "Today" continue to post steady updates and wait out 4 songs the next 4 weeks while holding at already pretty high numbers? It remains to be seen, but if I had to bet on an odd-man out at this point, I'd put my money on "Today". Thinking a #2 peak might be whats in store.

Chris Young is maxing this week, I'd guess Ray, Pardi, and Brad all get #1 in some order. You also have a huge gap between those three songs and the next group.

Sony is maxing "Sober Saturday Night" this week, as evidence by this "max" ad in Country Aircheck tonight. Doesn't look like a very optimistic ad. I mean, it might not say much they didn't mention anything but they're maxing it, but usually a label likes to spice it up with some extra text like "for #1!!" Stations probably don't feel like sticking with Chris' song past this week and like you mentioned, there are three songs behind both Chris and LBT that are looking to peak sooner rather than later. UMG ran a Power Up ad for "Dirt On My Boots" this week and they will max Jon's song next week or the week after. It looks as if Chris' song will bite the bullet after this upcoming weekend though. There's just not enough time for all the songs in the top 5 right now. Sarcastically, my mind is wondering "well, you guys are master manipulators, so surely you can organize a way to get some MB or even BB only #1's out of this over the next 3-4 weeks to make everyone happy?!" Brad's song could be in tough soon though. We'll know more over the next 1-2 weeks.

Brad and Chris are in the same situation ... good songs, but with low sales, low streaming and little appeal for listeners ... in my view two numbers # 2, not # 1

Not every song has to get to #1 though! I know that's not the world we live in, but I would just appreciate if Brad/his label (and radio) just recognize "Today" for the #4 song it really is (and even that is somewhat generous).

Apparently the label thinks not, as there's a Max Spins Next Week ad for "Today" in today's CA Daily.

Sony probably thinks they need to take advantage of Brad's gains in momentum and they know UMG has a big one with "Dirt On My Boots." Warner might go toe-to-toe with Arista but we'll see how big Brad's gains are next week.

Even though this one wasn't the most deserving song to go to #1 (but it's also not a farce, either), I'm glad it's getting there because this is one of his best singles in awhile, definitely since "Perfect Storm" at least imo (which was coincidentally his last to hit #1 and the only one he's had on BB in the past 5 years), and Brad Paisley's at the point in his career where it's perfectly possible that every #1 hit he gets now could very well be his last.

This song really has no business being a #1 song. The sales have been lukewarm throughout its chart run and there really isn't much buzz around this at all. Making the top 5 should have been enough, but it's 2017 so everybody gets a turn at the top. I hope Warner tries to block this. "Think A Little Less" has been a bigger hit and will be more remembered of the two.

Let the ridiculous push start. It's up 149 spins and 734K in AI today :( I saw some talk that Pardi looked to get #1 this week but I knew Sony would rally with one of these updates and today was a good indicator that the label will go all out the next few days. Brad was only 400 total Mediabase points from Pardi as of Sunday and Arista's staff was waiting for mid week (when many stations turn over their playlists) to start their huge push. It's pretty easy to convince stations to give you overnight spins for just 5 days and since UMG will push "Dirt On My Boots" through the 26th of March, my money is on Brad getting to #1 on Mediabase with "Today." We'll see how Billboard shakes out.

If this reaches #1 Brad will become the 22nd artist in country music history to have 20 #1 singles. He will be the 17th male artist to have 20 #1's. Theres only 3 females, 1 group and 1 duo that have 20 #1's.

"Today" gets to #1 on Mediabase after a spin differential of 184 spins between Brad and Pardi in today's update (164 spins gained vs. 20 spins lost for Jon). I knew Brad was extremely close yesterday and today's update did it. Looks like UMG let Sony have it this weekend. I don't see Brad grabbing #1 on Billboard but we'll see how tomorrow goes. Sony Music Nashville wanted Mediabase though.

So I do expect "Today" to be a MB only #1.

Watch out for Michael Ray on BB, he's sneaky close in audience & hosting CC USA this weekend I think Jon Pardi cancelled it out as he was the hottest song of the week so it is still even. Jon Pardi and Michael Ray have been dead even in gains so I think Jon Pardi has the edge for the Top spot on Billboard.

If Today does peak at #2, it will be Brad Paisley's ninth runner up hit and I will move him from #12 to #9 on the list of those artists with the most #2s. Pretty impressive. Yes or no?
