Congrats to Brad on snagging the Mediabase #1, although I also have my doubts about him topping the BB chart as well. He's closing in on Blake for Mediabase #1s, so I hope he passes him real soon, since this is Brad's best single in ages IMHO.

Brad edged Jon by 200 total points on Mediabase this week. My guess is the gap on Saturday was razor thin.

Of course Brad is no stranger to being in the middle of a really close finish atop the charts; look no farther than July of 2006, in which a mere seven points and two more spins would have netted him a full month atop the Mediabase chart, and consequently denying Carrie's 'Don't Forget To Remember Me' a week in the penthouse @ Mediabase.
Nevertheless, 'The World' wound up #3 for the year at Mediabase behind 'What Hurts The Most' and 'If You're Going Through Hell (Before The Devil Even Knows)', and #2 for the year @ Billboard, trailing only Mr. Atkins' monster smash.
Absolutely delighted that 'Today' made it to #1, and I'm definitely looking forward to his next single and forthcoming CD.

This is one of my favourites by Brad! Glad to hear it's doing well, be nice to see him at #1 again! It's been awhile, right? If I remember right, "Remind Me" was his last #1 on Billboard?

If I remember right, "Remind Me" was his last #1 on Billboard?"Perfect Storm" made it to #1 on BB, too, so that was his last. "Today" hit #1 on MB, but missed the #1 on BB, which seems to happen pretty often for him (and Carrie Underwood) lately.

Brad said in his Facebook Live video today that he's told "Last Time for Everything is the next single" and that it will come out in a couple weeks. Makes sense as it's the only other song on iTunes other than "Today" and "Heaven South" to have a time listed.

^Man, that's an awesome song! If the title wasn't so weird, I'd say it'd be a great choice for radio. Kind of reminds me of "Online" and "Water".

^ That's hilarious. Kudos for Brad for originality. I totally see him releasing that to radio. People will be talking about that song nonstop. I see it making his name a lot more relevant than it is now, sort of like what Red Solo Cup did for Toby for a little bit. I bet it'll sell really really well.
Either way I'd be surprised if he didn't do this at the ACM's. Or at least some award show at some point.

"Red Solo Cup" didn't end Toby's radio career. The next single "Beers Ago" peaked even higher at radio (#6) and it was just the timing of Toby's age and Show Dog's radio promo staff struggles that was the nail in the coffin. I like the new Brad song. I think it could work at radio but the title is a problem. Perhaps they could just change it to simply "The Internet Is Forever." I don't see it being a big hit but it can definitely be something that would be timely given the social media heavy society right now. Brad's at the point now where he and his label need to choose singles carefully.

I wasn't saying that was the reason, it just seemed to be a novelty song was his last "big" song.

If anything, "Red Solo Cup" helped extend Toby's career because it gave him a temporary profile boost (that song was *huge*, even though it only barely scraped Top 10 in airplay) when he was already on a slow downward turn. Granted, "Made in America" brought him back to the top of the charts, but "Red Solo Cup" definitely added some extra time to his days on radio, imo, and we saw with the next single as sabre14 pointed out that radio didn't dump him because of RSC. I think w/o RSC he would've just been phased out a little bit quicker honestly. Also, that new Brad Paisley song is great fun. Some people were worried about the title but I knew better than to pre-judge it, lol.

I loved this song when I first heard it live on C2C, but I'm happy they didn't clutter the production too much. Probably it's a bad idea to release it as a single, but a lot of people need to hear this one
