This looks like it's a followup to "Stay." The Lee Cabrera mix is the good one here. It's a nice laid-back, summer type house song. Check it out. 12" vinyl - UL 1312-6 A1. Lee/Cabrera Main MixB1. Mixshow Edit B2. Lee/Cabrera Dub

:o I absolutely LOVE Mynt (and Kim Sozzi) and I'll definitely check this out...tomorrow. G'night!
Do you know when it's being released here, Disco Dude? I'll try searching it later.

I wish Mynt saw more success with "Stay." It probably did better on the other dance stations, but KTU has kept it in low rotation and still plays the hell out of "How Did You Know?". That said, I'm excited to hear this. I like their sound.

I feel your pain - despite my repeated requests, Energy San Fran only gave "Stay" a few mixshow spins and never added it into regular rotation. I believe EnergySF was the only Billboard dance radio panel reporter not to add it. A shame, really, as it achieved moderate success at almost every other station it touched - high rotation at Sirius and Energy98, medium rotation at C89.5, EnergyArizona, and the dual Divas. Anyway, from the clips of "Back in Love," it didn't hit me as immediately as HDYK? or Stay, but it has potential...

I wish Mynt saw more success with "Stay." ... Yeah. At first, I absolutely loved the song since I knew how much I loved "How Did You Know?" (#1 of '04!! I never get tired of saying that! ), but it eventually started to get bland on me after a while. I really wish it would've done better, but I guess I can understand its moderate success.

I don't understand why Mynt would come out with an ok song like "Stay" after an unbelievable power house hit like like H.D.Y.K. It makes no sense. I have to agree with the #1 of 2004 statement about H.D.Y.K. Then I heard "Stay", and though H.D.Y.K. is a much older song then "Stay" obviously, there is a reason why it is still doing so well on KTU and even better then Stay.

That's just a pretty sad truth in the dance realm sometimes...hits come and go and artists have something huge and can't repeat the same level of success. It sucks. But on the bright side, HDYK will always be a good track...#10 of 04 for me.

I like "Stay," but the massive success of "How Did You Know?" may be due to the fact that Mynt covered the original Kurtis Mantronix version. At least, I'm pretty sure K.M. did the song first - their version was released something like six months before Mynt's, if I recall correctly.

I remember seeing that name when I was searching for the mp3 of "How Did You Know?". I knew they covered the song, but I didn't know it was from them.

The two versions are fairly similar. The vocals on the Kurtis Mantronix version are a little more subdued.
Energy Arizona/Energy 98 was totally on the Kurtis Mantronix version when it first came out, and they (stubbornly) only played that version of H.D.Y.K. - even after the Mynt version blew up and became absolutely huge.
Also, Kurtis Mantronix did a video for the song, so my local video bar often plays that. I'm sure most of the people in the bar can't even tell the difference or probably just think it's a remix of the Mynt version.

Then I heard "Stay", and though H.D.Y.K. is a much older song then "Stay" obviously, there is a reason why it is still doing so well on KTU and even better then Stay. Could it be because their version of "How Did You Know (77 Strings)" is a cheap, tacky cover of the Mantronik Presents Chamonix original? I still can't believe Mynt's cover got more attention, since it's nothing but a second-rate, cheesy, tacky cover. Kim's vocals cannot simply compare to the far superior vocals of Miriam Grey (billed as Mim on the single). At least it was a Top 20 hit in the UK. I definitely think Kurtis' version would have fared better if it would have been on a bigger label... or at least Ultra. Kurtis Mantronik Presents Chamonix - "How Did You Know (77 Strings)" Released on 09/06/2003 Label: Southern Fried Kurtis Mantronik and vocalist Mim jam on it, Southern Fried style, with a pumped up, disco vocal excursion that has the floor foaming at the mouth - and not just because water is £3 a bottle these days. Already popular with Messrs Tong, Fontaine and Jules, this is a clear contender for dance-friendly radio hit of the season. Mim warbles and yodels her way through 'How Did You Know' in much the same way as the lush vocal on Rui Da Silva's 'Touch Me', but the general vibe (lifted by all 77 strings of course) is brighter, lighter and quite simply a hit waiting to happen. Flip it and the '77 Viva Miami instrumental' does exactly what it says on the can. Give it a good three minute edit and you're looking at a record that could soon be annoying you from your clock radio to your car, from the check-out queue to the gym and from the football coverage to your dreams. No joke. by DJ Paulette

I admit that I do like the Kurtis version better. The beat was what intoxicated me not the vocals though. All the other ones haven't had that same feel for me.

Any word on the status of a forthcoming Mynt album? Can't wait! Anyone knows? This interview doesn't mention it either, but here's some info on it: You also produce remixes. Tell us what projects you've completed lately and if there are any new productions we should be looking out for. The last couple of weeks, my partner Albert Castillo and I have been recording our first album project MYNT with vocalist Kim Sozzi. The follow up single to "How did you know" called "Stay" was just completed and we are about halfway down with the album. However, we remixed for Joss Stone, Janet, Dido and recently Anna Vissi who is the Madonna of Greece. Taken from: stantondj.com/v2/artist_riddler.asp

Hmm. Thanks for this. It's pretty old since "Stay" was released some time ago...but still pretty cool. I wonder what they remixed of Joss Stones...maybe it was under the Al B. Rich mix...I remember seeing a recent Al B. Rich remix of Joss Stone's first single off her latest album. One of the guys from Mynt makes up part of Al B. Rich, correct?

Sirius has recently added this in rotation on The Beat.
I heard it completely for the first time, and it's good, but "Stay" is better.

The #3 most requested on Sirius' The Beat. I've really grown into this now.

Anyone know of Still Not Sorry is with Kim Sozzi on vocals? I can't tell. Might it be the next single?
