I DO TOO!!! It's in my profile on AIM because I want ppl to see who's performing. Most of my friends hate this kind of music and its so sad. But I'm going to find people who wanna go this week NO MATTER WHAT!
It's sad, Jones Beach is fifteen minutes from my house, and I'm not sure that I'm going, lol.

Great line-up! I'd go...but I don't know. So much work, and it's likely I'll be in Florida. Crap.

Before you go, especially to Jones Beach, make sure you read their updated disclaimers on their website as of today (Monday) cause I've checked everyday to see who has been added. ktu.com/pages/beatstock2005.htmlIncluding the fact that if you're going to Jones Beach like I am, Stonebridge, Pussycat Dolls, AND THE REASON WHY I'M GOING DEBORAH COX, won't be performing. Now I have a bone to pick and don't know what to do. I bought these tickets with signs posted at the box office at Jones Beach's window stating that D.C. would be there. I bought these tickets under the assumption that what the man told me at the box office was true. He said that the artist listing that was POSTED AT THEIR BOX OFFICE was given to them by KTU, and included Deborah Cox, and the PCD's (though who cares about the PCD's) - it never included Stonebridge cause they were just added. I would have just bought tickets to see them Sunday at the PNC Bn'A center in NJ to see her instead. Between this screw up and their 9 hour nonrepeat of any dance song workday, which sucks balls, I'm about to write them off.

Stonebridge'll be there? All I need is Therese and like Marly, Dannii, or Kylie to fall from the sky and I'm goin'!
Moonshadow, maybe you can modify and add any new acts to the first post? To keep it up to date.
Has KTU begun to plany "Where the Dawn Breaks"? It'd suck if they never played it, especially since it's getting old now.

Haha, you're funny. KTU sucks lately. Look at their playlist on mmr247. Does it look like they play anything new, even though W.T.D.B. isn't new.
Sasha "Dat Sexy Body" Mario "Let Me Love You" Frankie J "Obsession" ROC Project "Never" Reina "If I Close My Eyes" Mynt "How Did You Know" Alicia "Karma" Usher "Caught Up" Narcotic Thrust "I Like It" @#11
and many other recurrents that are stilled played on other stations.
But I never hear Jenna Drey, Inaya Day, Plummet, 4 Striings, Leana, Sarah Atereth, Therese, Bodyrockers, Ian Van Dahl, even the Valentin version on Mynt's Stay, and of the Killers or Rob Thomas, Natasha or other current pop artists (besides Kelly Clarkson) remixes, - Not once have I heard.
Thank God for 9 hours of nonrepetition of dance hits that really kinda suck.

I heard Anna Vissi on KTU before. It was the Valentin mix and my mother, whom is never here when I play the song in my house, knows it.

Seriously? I never heard it on KTU at all. I'll edit that out. But still I am pretty sure everything else holds true.

KTU did play Anna Vissi sporidacally throughout April and may, but dropped it quickly.
I head 4 Strings once in a mix during the house party 3 weeks ago, and it got played twice for 3 weeks.
And I'll update the first post, according to who's performing where. You have to beware, though, that it always happens that whomever performs at one location will probably not perform at another, given the huge amount of acts.
Finally...WTDB has never been added. Their newest song added was the Mynt remix of "Behind These Hazel Eyes." I keep calling to request "Fascinated," which hasn't been added either, even though Suzanne Palmer is performing at Beatstock and Company B's Fascinated gets played at least once a day (with this new no repeat business).

I guess that's from where you got the good taste in dance music! ;) My mom hates "Call Me" because she likes the original Greek version .... Yeah, typical Greek ... "no greek = no good"!

I understand that, and it might sound like I came on here just to bitch, which I did, but I mean Deborah Cox is the headliner. They could take away 5-10 of the other acts and I wouldn't be as upset over it as I would be by her not being there.
...so it goes though.

Moonshadow - you have to change/add a few things
ADD Mike Rizzo (Allie) to Saturday
TAKE AWAY Sun on Saturday, they now perform Sunday.
So every act but Allie performs on Sunday... and 6 of the acts won't be on Saturday.
To me, thats a big difference, for instance with Deborah Cox, especially when Diane Prior says "Don't worry, we're all gonna see Deborah Cox at Beatstock 2005" on the air a few days ago. :(

In the order as listed above,
Reina was effing amazing. I was soooo sad when she got off stage. Kelly Osbourne was Smelly Osbourne, as played by Speedy, Ktu's fat overweight morning show sidekick. Kelly had to cancel last minute Narcotic Thrust played one song and left! I like it was the only song, eh, it was ok. Sylver was really good, I was up in nosebleed, but putting the voice to the face, I think she was a he? D.H.T. was nothing special. They did 3 versions of L.T.Y.H., and a new single set to come out in a few weeks. Lola wasn't bad, did her sex song and left. Jenn Cuneta wasn't there. Mynt featuring Kim Sozzi was great. Kim Sozzi is a fantastic talent. They did HDYK over Hollaback Girl's instrumental, that was effing hott. Lucas Prata was good for the four minutes he was on stage, sounded just like the song. Angelo Venuto is a chubby latin guy which besides Sweet Caroline and another song sounds good with Merengue and Celia Cruz type music. He wasn't bad at all though, and closed with Sweet Caroline with the freestylers later on. Rockell was effing amazing. I loved her songs a lot, but not L.O.V.E. Coro I had no idea who he was before the show but was pretty damn good. Information Society was dreadful Lisa Lisa rocked. How many artists sample her music today? Nina Sky, the BEP, others. Judy Torres is a big girl. She was good though too. Grand Master Melle Mel & Scorpio isn't my style. Mike Rizzo presents Allie did Can't go on, and she didn't
I dont remember:
Suzanna Palmer Cynthia Lisette Melendez TKA
MC Hammer was also there, he was last up, and we were leaving the venue just as he started, not bad, just not my style.
I was shocked though, it started at 6, and all the dance artists, from N.T., Mynt, Reina, Allie, Lola, Sylver, DHT, etc took up an hour and a half at most, til like 730, then the freestyle was so heartfelt and amazing from 730 til like 945, it was really good cause there was a lotta soul put in to it. It wasn't what I thought, less Reina, I didn't find the dance as amazing as I thought, though I knew all the words, and discovered a lot of freestyle beats that were amazing. I'm ecstatic I went.

I'm ecstatic I went. btw, that's awesome that you went. Good rundown...and knowing KTU, I'm not really surprised that the dance portion of the show was the weaker one. Sucks that some groups performed only one song (Narcotic Thrust?) !!! I love a lot of freestyle music, though I'd much prefer new dance, but I think that there are a lot of KTU listeners that really enjoy the station for that genre. And chances are a lot of people paid money for Beatstock to see freestyle artists over someone like...Lola..., so that's what makes the show. I've been trying to win since 2002...but maybe next year I'll just pay the damn money and see what Beatstock is all about. Seriously though, thanks a lot for the review.

Yeah, thanks Btwny! Wow, Narcotic Thrust playing one song...wow. If I was KTU, it'd be totally different, but I'm not a radio station. Or so I hear. And, KTU was already having a commercial on air about Smelly Osbourne, so it can't be possible that Kelly cancelled at the last minute. Actually, they've had the commerical for more than a week.

Whoops, my mistake, and I also forgot that Stonebridge was at Jones Beach. They weren't supposed to, but Therese, the girl, was, she was very weak vocally.

I noted that Stonebridge and therese weren't mentioned, but I just figured they didn't go and were only coming to the one on today. Thanks for the update.

I attended Beatstock 2005 at the PNC Banks Arts Center in NJ yesterday. Missed about the first half hour of the show which I assume included Narcotic Thrust, Mynt feat. Kim Sozzi, Sun, Lola, Jenn Cunetta and Stonebridge because I never got to see them perform or maybe I missed them later on when I was walking around.
As mentioned before D.H.T. did 3 different versions of "Listen to Your Heart" which I found to be interesting because it changes it up a bit. Reina came out and did "No One's Gonna Change You", "Forgive" and "If I Close My Eyes" and as usual everyone loved her and she did an awesome job. Sylver and Lucas Prata do pretty much sound exactly as they do on the radio but Sylver really does have a powerful voice. The Pussycat Dolls did the Ralphi Rosario mix of "Don't Cha" which was awesome.
THEN Miss Deborah A. Cox came on stage opening with "Something Happened On The Way to Heaven" then "Absolutely Not" (in which the crowd went f***ing nuts) then she did "House is Not a Home" then "Easy As Life" then she walked off stage and said thank you and just when you thought she was done she came back and did "Nobody's Supposed to Be Here". People were OUT OF CONTROL when she was on and she really did steal the show.
All of the freestyle acts were really good. Judy Torres puts on an amazing performance and the crowd always goes wild when she gets on stage even though she's at just about every KTU show there is. The freestyle is always a big portion of the show and they did not disappoint.

:'( - GOSH DAMNIT!!!!!!!!!!! I woulda easily paid the money and gone the distance to go to the PNC to see her as opposed to Jones Beach.
That's one thing of probably many I forgot to mention. She was amazing vocally.
