Lately it's come to my attention that topics are being created here for songs that don't even necessarily have any dance mixes. It's leading to a lot of confusion and some members are becoming annoyed. If you could wait until you find out about any dance mixes being official before you create a new thread, that would be appreciated. Thanks.

I think the dance thread ppl do that because they wanna know "if" there's any dance remixes to the song. Its harder to find than official Pop radio remixes, so if a person knows of any, they post them in the thread. Word won't out around the board of a remix if they don't start a thread about the specific song they wanna hear remixed.

People can search on Google for remixes first.

People can search on Google for remixes first. That's true, but also sometimes no information is available in regards to what remixes exist from any source. And sometimes the sources may not be the most credible. Anyways, I'll just not do the old thing anymore.

I guess someone should just make a permanent thread concerning remixes of songs? That way it wouldn't fill everything up and everything would be in one place, right?

It could be like the Upcoming Albums thread that is in the Music News section, except this thread would be about upcoming remixes and stuff.

I really don't think threads for that are needed period. If remixes of a track are being done, we will know... this is the Internet era... nothing is kept secret. People just need to chill and stop being impatient.

No. I like the idea of a thread dedicated to this topic specifically. Good thinking people.

Who would get upset about something like this? Probably members of the board who frequent the pop/rock area? I just don't u/s why people get their shorts in a bind over something so seemingly insignificant. A chat board filled with Dance Music lovers is a far better source than Google! That can turn into quite a wild goose chase ("Buy books about GREEN DAY BOULEVARD REMIX at Amazon.com")

Who would get upset about something like this? There are people who might. I guess there is no "middle path" for this situation. Having those kind of speculatory threads may upset some, but not having them may upset others too. We'll see what happens.

I agree. Also, while there may not be official remixes out there, someone could be sitting on an unofficial remix they're either made themselves or found at some random place. I don't really see why it would hurt to ask. It just seems like whoever complained was upset because they didn't get track names for them to try and buy/download and wasted 2 seconds of their time.

We actually have at least 15 remixes (and counting) of popular songs that are not available to the public (except Jason Walker's #1 "Set it Free"). This includes Gwen Stefani's Holla Back Girl, and Deborah Cox's new "Stupid Like You". I don't see the harm in asking if there is a remix. No one will find out about these by a Google search.

Or, if you have a remix that isn't commercially available, and there's no thread yet about the song, you can start the thread. It's just that we don't want there to be threads in this section about remixes that don't actually exist.

This post sums it all up nicely. :) So unofficial mixes would be okay too, like with the Deborah Cox "Stupid Like U" one.

No one will find out about these by a Google search. Agreed, although it can't hurt to check. The turnaround time on Google can be days or weeks before internet stuff starts showing up in their search engine. Case in point, the day I got the acapella for Deborah Cox "Stupid Like You" I needed to find out some information about it, including the album version. I googled the song title and artist name, and there were literally only about 2 results! So I had to do the mashup cold, without ever hearing the album version (something I've never done before and probably will never do again!)

i searched through google, but i can't find it... there is what I believe an unofficial remix to Mariah's, "Boy (I Need You)" that I cannot seem to find.... it has an old school sample, I forget the song, but it's a very popular one...... can I post this on the regular remix page to have someone help me find it?????
