The craziest thing is that of all the songs besides Drake, the only one thats close to Dethroning Closer isn't Starboy or 24k, it's a cover of Hallelujah by Pentatonix.

It's kind of far behind "Closer" on YouTube and not on Spotify's chart at all so it's really behind there. I don't think it poses a threat at all.

While I am happy that 24K Magic is gaining, I'm worried that it'll suffer the same fate as CSTF in peaking too quickly and tumbling before it really gets the chance to hold its steam. Someone please tell me I'm not alone in thinking that

According to Kworb Closer will remain at #1 on DSS with 86k. That sum will be the lowest for a #1 song since 10 full years ago, when Lips Of A Angel sold 75k on the issue October 28th (Irreplaceable sold close to the former figure at 88k on the last issue in 2006). About time sales fell to lows!!!!

Drake's Fake Love has unseated Starboy as #1 on Spotify US!
1 NEW Drake - Fake Love 1 1 (x1) 1,483,440 2 -1 The Weeknd - Starboy 34 1 (x8) 1,407,532 +45,948 3 -1 The Chainsmokers - Closer 89 1 (x70) 1,335,194 +35,618
The song is basically Hotline Bling 2.0 slash rumored Rihanna diss, so it'll be interesting to see it potentially hold off Closer in the coming weeks. I mean yes, we'd prefer Starboy or 24K Magic at the top any day, but it's assuring to see atm that Closer wouldn't be getting any closer to One Sweet Day's record.

Drake just needs to have this biggest amount of weeks at #1 this year, doesn't he
Luckily I don't mind "Fake love", if it knocks "Closer" out of that #1 spot I'll be ok with that

Why did Drake release on a Monday? Because in honor of his birthday I think. If he had a full week a top 10 debut would have been possible too.

Wow Pentatonix actually passed closer on itunes. And the discount on Million Reasons makes me think that that's the 2nd single.

Lady Gaga's Million Reasons is now at #3 on iTunes US, ahead of Closer! ...In before this hits #1 out of absolutely nowhere...?! Nah, the hype will probably have died out before the discount is off. And on a different note, wow at Heathens still gaining. Maybe it can out-peak Shut Up and Dance?!

"Million Reasons" was used prominently in Lady Gaga's Carpool Karaoke. Couple that with the discount, and that explains the large spike. The Karaoke also explains the spike for the rest of her material as well. (I don't believe "A-YO" was used, but it still is getting an increase since people go to the album page to download "Million Reason.") BTW: Perfect Illusion 0:35-1:43 (#19) Bad Romance 2:33-4:31 (#159 & #383) The Edge of Glory 5:50-6:38 (#112) Born This Way 7:55-8:37 (#136) O-Town's "Liquid Dreams" 9:42-10:12 (#---) Poker Face 10:12-11:07 (#125 & #1363) Million Reasons 12:36-14:44 (#2 & #342 & #636) Totally jacking Adele's style of not performing her actual second single.

Apparently Vine is shutting down? Don't know why, but it means that we might not see viral dance craze songs on the chart anymore.

Apparently Vine is shutting down? Don't know why, but it means that we might not see viral dance craze songs on the chart anymore. Maybe not as frequent, but they'll still appear. YouTube still exists and the biggest viral dance crazes of the streaming era comes from there: Gangnam Style and Harlem Shake.

The only huge Vine hits I can really think of are Nasty Freestyle and Hotline Bling, and that one had Drake behind it. There are a few minor ones as well, but not on the same level as Gangnam Style, Harlem Shake, Watch Me, Hit The Quan, and Juju.

Live iTunes US Sales 1 Drake - Fake Love 1.0000 3 The Chainsmokers - Closer (feat. Halsey) 0.6542 Not a fan of Drake, but amazing sales here! Also go home Chainsmokers lol I doubt it will be a smash, while i might not like one dance it atleast has a catchy chorus, it has a decent beat, but it only has 12 bars and the (pre) chorus put me to sleep. So as a song i don't see it having a lot of appeal, let's just hope people are interested in the rihanna diss and ignore it when they first heard it.
