WKJC makes a lot of their own edits:
* They went to the trouble of editing the reggae-rap bridge out of "Stuck Like Glue" themselves. They are still the only station I've ever heard that had an issue with that part of the song.
* They censor all instances of "ass" in "Toes" by Zac Brown Band by covering it up with the first guitar chord in the song (to their credit, it's a pretty seamless edit). Oddly, they don't touch "roll a big fat one" at all.
* They cut "ass" out of "Drunk on a Plane" by Dierks Bentley. They don't mute it, they cut it out entirely, so it goes "I'll call her up and tell her kiss myCause yeah, I'm drunk on a plane". The edit really is that close-cut.
We also have a station out of the Thumb called WCZE that promotes "positive country" and apparently targets a more conservative audience. To wit:
* In "Dirt" by Florida Georgia Line, they edit "corn field whiskey" out of "build your corn field whiskey bonfires on it".
* They edit "Sometimes I drink too much" out of "Hard to Love" by Lee Brice.
* They edit "And we got children walking around with guns / And they got knives with drugs and pain to spare" out of "Love's the Only House" by Martina McBride.
* Surprisingly, they don't cut "nice long toke" out of "Wagon Wheel".
When WWTH was still a Dial Global affiliate, they did a lot of weird edits to songs, probably for time constraints:
* For some reason, they took nearly all of the second verse out of "Back to December", so it went from "I go back to December all the time" to "And then the cold came, the dark days..." It made no sense whatsoever. I know the song's five minutes and doesn't have an official radio edit, but come on.
* They also edited out most of the round at the end of "Already Gone" by Sugarland and just let it fade out there.
* Their recording of "I Cross My Heart" was slowed down about 5%.
Finally, I don't think I've ever heard WATZ play an edit of their own before, as they either play songs uncensored (they still play the "I'll tell mine you're gay" version of "Picture to Burn") or use official edits (they used to play "Toes" as-is, but now play the official "toes in the sand" edit), but last week, I heard them play a version of "She's Got a Way with Words" that cut out "She put a big F.U. in my future" entirely. (The only station I've ever heard play the "She put the SOL in 'solo'" version is WBCT Grand Rapids, also the only station I've ever heard play the remixed version of "Beautiful Drug.")
