What are some Country songs that have heavy usage of the steel guitar?
A few off the top of my head; I'm sure I'll add more later: :)
Jace Everett - "Nowhere In The Neighborhood" (please go listen to this -- never charted, from 2006 off Epic Records Nashville) Lady Antebellum - "Downtown" Aaron Lewis - "Forever" Steve Holy - "It's My Time (Waste It If I Want To)"
A massive amount of George Strait songs, lol.

Jamey Johnson: Stars in Alabama.
The steel in the chorus is haunting. Gives me chills every time.

Literally anything by Sam Outlaw on Angeleno. I've had the pleasure of seeing him live twice and his music focuses predominantly on melody, fiddle, and the steel guitar.
I'd start twith "Keep It Interesting" and go onto "Ghost Town."

Sawyer Brown - "Mission Temple Fireworks Stand"
Yes, that's a steel, not an electric.

^ "Look at Us" is also a great example of John Hughey's "crying steel" method of playing. Always loved that.
