I think Ed won't return to #1 until 2/25. Migos is still 5k points ahead of SOY.

If Scars to To Your Beautiful tops airplay but misses the Hot 100 Top 10, will it be the first time that will happen, #1 airplay but not in Hot 100 top 10?

It happened with four songs I'm pretty sure. I know one of them was Give Your Heart A Break by Demi Lovato. See the Scars To Your Beautiful thread in the CHR forum for the complete list. ETA: disregard this... I thought you were talking about pop airplay. Nevermind.

Radio seems especially stagnant nowadays! I've especially been hearing Let Me Love You a TON. I swear, if i didn't follow the charts at all, I would think that song has been #1 for like the last 4 months.

Also, I don't know about you all, but "Closer" wasn't THAT big on radio where I live. It definitely felt like a #1 hit, but not for three months.

Well, it won't be the first ever, but it will be the first since airplay-only singles were allowed to chart. The first instance I could find in reverse chronology of a radio leader not in the top 10 at all was: Torn / Natalie Imbruglia - Airplay-only until end of run (#42) (1998)

Don't Wanna Know was #11 on the January 14th chart while being #1 on radio...

^ I think the statistic refers to an airplay #1 that will end up never peaking inside the Hot 100 top ten during its entire run, not just during an individual week (DWK has of course peaked at #7).

Excluding those airplay-only anomalies (Torn, Fly, Men in Black, Don't Speak - and to a certain extent the Rembrandt's I'll Be There for You) = none of which are really fair to consider, based on the irritating chart practices of the day - yes, Alessia Cara may be the first Radio Sings #1 to miss the Billboard Hot 100!
i.e.: Nothing missed in the 80s or early 90's...

Top 10 in the US and UK haven't been this different for months! Only 2 mutual songs - "Paris" and "Shape Of You".

Nobody wants to guess how many Migos songs will debut next week? I never understood why people like when one artist has so many debuts from one album, and usually those songs all drop off the next week. If more than 3 songss are selling that well all points should be shifted to album sales. It's horrible to own a billboard book that shows an artist with 50 hits and 40 of those all spent 1 week. Glee is the most irritating.

Glee is the most irritating. Thank the lord that abysmal train-wreck of a show is gone. 2009-2012 was unbearable for the charts, I am pretty sure we got a new Glee song every week. It was the Drake of it's time. Let's hope that train-wreck also leaves soon. The only good thing to come out of Glee is the show making Somebody That I Used To Know a hit. But that's all.

Also, I don't know about you all, but "Closer" wasn't THAT big on radio where I live. It definitely felt like a #1 hit, but not for three months. Same. The single is obviously massive on the Hot 100, but for Airplay, I barely hear it. Despite going #1 on Pop Airplay and the fact that I listen to mostly pop radio stations. I still hear Don't Let Me Down like 5 times a day, compared to Closer, which I hear like once a day and sometimes none. It's weird. Closer is the bigger song and is still Top 5 on the Hot 100, you'd think I'd hear it more often. Hm...

Plus a song (that you don't like) reaching the top is no grounds for depression. You should walk a mile in the shoes of people with real problems to experience what sadness and depression actually is.

Easily the most depressing Hot 100 week of 2016 for me, only because of the new #1. I still remember how sad I was. This was my least favorite song of the year until "Treat You Better" came along. Uhhh..really? I am sure worse songs have topped the Hot 100 compared to this one. Plus a song (that you don't like) reaching the top is no grounds for depression. You should walk a mile in the shoes of people with real problems to experience what sadness and depression actually is. First off, this is my opinion and the way I feel about a particular song. Just because you disagree doesn't mean I'm wrong and vice versa. Also I actually struggled with actual serious depression through 2015 and 2016 so thanks for insight.
