In the footsteps of the "most forgotten hits from X year" threads, I thought I'd put a twist on things. Of the #1 hits from 2016, what do you think will be the most forgotten 5 years from now?

I think One Dance will disappear from public conciousness sooner than later because of the insane amount of other Drake's hits in that period, and it never had a video. "Panda" and "Black Beatles" are also likely to be forgotten

It's between PILLOWTALK, Panda and Black Beatles. The "viral" aspect of the latter two allowed them to be successful without establishing much long-term ubiquity, thus making them easier to forget.
That said, we may remember those songs AS quick, viral #1s -- much in the way we still remember Harlem Shake. And insofar as the songs were really big on audio streaming (it wasn't just viral videos), they had more resonance than your Harlem Shake type song...and thus may have more staying power.
PILLOWTALK had the big first week, but the reaction from that point forward was more "indifference" than anything, in part due to ZAYN having such an aloof, low-key presence. So I could see it being forgotten. It would probably depend on where his career goes over the next five years.

Definitely "Pillowtalk." "Panda" is a decent answer, but I feel like it'll show up in those throwback playlists way more often than "Pillowtalk" will.

Right away, I can eliminate Hello and Closer.
Purpose was an important album for Bieber, of which Love Yourself and Sorry were the highlights, so not those.
Drake is a big presence right now, and One Dance was his most significant song in 2016. Work is up there for both him and Rihanna.
CSTF and Cheap Thrills are fairly unremarkable, but they'll still get airplay on Hot AC for awhile.
So that leaves Pillowtalk, Panda, and Black Beatles. I'm tempted to say BB given the brief shelf life of meme songs, but at least it has felt like a #1, which is more than I could say for Panda. It could easily be Pillowtalk, especially if Zayn's solo career goes nowhere.
I'll say Panda, though, because it feels more like a relic of its time than anything that stands out in any way.

Definitely "Panda", although I could also see a case for "Black Beatles".

I agree with "Panda". I can't even remember how it goes, and didn't hear much of it even when it was on the chart, so to me it never seemed like anything resembling a #1 hit, let alone something that will be replayed much in the future. And the lack of a significant followup hit for Desiigner thus far only makes it less likely to be that. ("Black Beatles" at least feels more widely present in pop culture, and more memorable musically.)
"Pillowtalk" got a lot of votes but I think will be more widely remembered, even as only a sidebar to One Direction.
