I think it'll be Toxic winning, although I'd like to see BOMT get it since Toxic won the singles DZ.

Also one of the biggest worldwide hits ever. There's so much I could write about “...Baby One More Time”. I can't stress this enough – this song was a HUGE moment in pop history. Britney Spears brought something to mainstream pop that had been missing since the 80's ended. The rise of the Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC in the late 90's showed there was a market for teen pop. But so far, it had just been a bunch of nice-looking boys for young girls to drool over. There wasn't a role model for those girls. Britney was the teen pop girl they could relate to. This image quickly proved to be too overwhelming to maintain, but that's how she began. To say her success boils down to her breaking through at the right time is oversimplifying things though. It takes a certain something to be as goddam ubiquitous as this woman was in the early years of her career, and to last as long as she has/did. A lot of it comes down to her voice, as robotic as it is. Britney often uses this bold commanding tone that sells hooks really well. Her voice has the ability to sound empowered in some songs and vulnerable in others. She brought us lots of iconic music videos and live performances. She was a dancer too! But let's not forget the man responsible for this song – Mr Max Martin. “...Baby” was his first Hot 100 #1 and his first of 38 (!!!) CHR #1's. He brought a fresh sound to pop with his dramatic DUN DUN's, which are all over “...Baby” and many of Britney's early singles. Fun fact: this song was originally offered to TLC... this does not fit their style at all.

K bye at everyone knocking "Lucky", "Break the Ice", "Work Bitch", and "Slumber Party" out so early. "Everytime", "Hold It Against Me", "Stronger", and "I'm a Slave 4 U" can gladly sliiiiide out~
"Toxic" is a good winner though, I can live with that.

1. Toxic [759 points]Hot 100: 9 Pop: 1 (4 weeks) TRL: 1 (16 days) – 52 days on the countdown UK: 1 (1 week) Australia: 1 (2 weeks) Germany: 4 Standard Deviation: 4.4423203989 Average: 5.05 Individual Rankings: 01 ry4n01 Juan Carlos01 Ky01 Codex01 zaclord 🌈01 trustypepper02 nick6402 when the pawn...02 Leo ✔03 Sambalada04 jtd Thee Stallion05 Leaf05 rgreen062506 born08 .indulgecountry08 @mirza 12 Az Paynter12 Baby Spice12 Kanenrá:ke14 aerodynamiteGoddam at those rankings. 16/20 put this in their top 10. 6 people at #1. Not a single ranking lower than #14. And it's 102 points ahead of the runner-up. I think this might be the biggest runaway winner in all of these rankdowns so far. Britney's fourth album, In The Zone, saw her work with a whole new team of producers. It was her first studio album after the much publicized break-up with Justin Timberlake, and it's the point of her career when she sheds her teen popstar image forever. One of those new producers were the Swedish team Bloodshy & Avant; aka 2/3 of Miike Snow. Bloodshy is also half of the duo Galantis. I know, I was shocked to find that out too. You can definitely hear the Euro-dance influences all over “Toxic”. There was nothing quite like this on US radio at the time. The song put her back at #1 on CHR, her first top 10 on that format since “Lucky”. It was a huge hit all over the world too. The video is also one of her most well-known.

Who should I do next? I was thinking of Beyonce & Destiny's Child's singles, although we just did a Lemonade ranking. Some other ideas not already taken: Justin Timberlake + *NSYNC Christina Aguilera (I don't think this'll have much interest but hey) Kelly Clarkson One Direction + their solo efforts so far Demi vs Selena (just their singles obviously) I'll go with whatever has the most interest.

JMO but I don't like the idea of mixing Destiny's Child and Beyonce together. I'd rather do separate rankdowns for each of them. Same for if we did JT/'Nsync and 1D/solo efforts. It's just not the same.

I think a gaga rankdown the top 2 would be obvious. I did pink rankdown cause it's not obvious what the winner would be. It was somewhat obvious for Britney too. I think beyonces can be obvious too but I could be wrong. Kelly clarkson probably breakaway era will do very well too. Anyways I would like a JT rankdown too.

I wanna try a rankdown of Australian songs (no particular artists, just hits on the ARIA charts by Aussies). IDK how much of an audience that would have though, 'cause there'd be a LOT of listening required 'cause most of the songs would be virtually unknown to people.

What happened to the Aussie Canadian England mix of songs charting there that didn't make billboard hot 100 of 2016. I liked that idea. :(

IDK, that could still happen. But I also wanna give more exposure to Australian music since we have so few international breakouts. :(

I suspected "Oops" and even "...Baby" to be a little lower, despite their iconic status. I thought it'd be between "Toxic" and "Slave," although I knew "Toxic" would win pretty easily. Lol Jordan why'd you tank 'Everytime'? As for 'Crazy', some of ya'll clearly don't know what's up. :sip2: At least we do. :sip2:

Down for Demi vs Selena (do all ex-acts) and One Directikn Can you believe that I was actually thinking about doing a Demi vs Selena Rankdown?! Wow! I don't think I'll be able to host though. I'm happy with the results, I just wanted "Lucky" to make the top 10. Also, wth is HIAM doing in the Top 10?!? I love all of your ideas so far, especially Kelly and Beyonce. I don't think there's a problem with Bey since she has some iconic singles and we only ranked "Lemonade" which is one of her weakest albums.

Has anyone thought of a Kelly Clarkson rankdown? I might like to host that one, I think doing an artist-specific rankdown might be better for my first time doing one, and I think there's enough people that there'd be some interest there.
