From Olivia Newton-John and Garth Brooks (or should I say " Chris Gaines" LOL) to more recently Taylor Swift and Little Big Town, I guess we've seen a good amount of country artists putting out projects aimed to a different audience outside of country music over the years - with different degrees of success lol. So... my question is: what have been some of your favorites or least favorites *? *I don't mean crossover country hits/albums, but instead, material that has been created, released and promoted exclusively to a different genre/audienceOne of mine is definitely Shelby Lynne's first non-country release I AM SHELBY LYNNE (2000) I love it so much and I feel it showcases her talents way more than her previous country records. It's such a classy mixture of pop/rock, blues, soul and jazz... it's probably my favorite work she's ever put out!

That was a farce when Shelby Lynne won the Best New Artist Award at the Grammys in 2000 when she was already a signed act for a decade.
