That is way too long 2 wait I hope in the meantime she will change that horrible cover seems she is doing all just to sell as little as possible albums her album is/was finished in january...in february we had love... april lust for life july is ... but I'm confident she will get that # 1 They're still working on the album, honestly. My friend conducted the Dazed interview with Courtney Love, and the topic of Stevie came up and Lana had never even met her at that point. There was definitely no collab done at the time.

Can we all just hail the queen ! Краљица Лана Дел Реј ! I don't know who are 1 & 2 but I can imagine they may be Shania Twain and Alanis Morissette If someone knows...comment #1 is Adele's 21 (326 weeks) and #2 is Carole King's Tapestry (318 weeks).

The 3rd longest running female album on the Billboard 200 Damn that is actually really impressive given that the album only really 1 chart-wise successful single and only that happened cause of a remix The album never even reached the summit of the Billboard 200 either, peaking at #2

#1 is Adele's 21 (326 weeks) and #2 is Carole King's Tapestry (318 weeks). King's album is from 70's / 80's ? It was released in 1971 but obviously it hasn't been charting consecutively since then.

UV is still her best album. I love the summer vibes it has.

Woof, I'm the exact opposite. Outside of two or three songs, I pretend UV doesn't exist.

Eh! I'm pretty sure her entire career qualifies as "cult classic." That's pretty much her entire shtick at this point, she has a rapid base that worships everything she does. Including that meandering, tuneless dirge of an album. I'll be too busy listening to her good albums to care about any masturbatory reevaluation that album gets (like it needs it in the first place, it's the album where critics finally took her seriously as an artist and it's fairly loved by her base already).

You nailed it, "Old Money" is THAT CUT on that album. Gorgeous. And "West Coast" still remains epic. "Money Power Glory" and "Fucked My Way To The Top" are cute. UV is so damn languorous to me. Love the instrumentals, but the melodies don't stick, her vocals drag, the hooks don't pop like they should. She definitely got it back together with Honeymoon for me.

Sorry to ruin the anti Ultraviolence party but I love it! To me it was the record she needed to make to widen her sound. I love all her albums in individual ways!

I can't rank her albums but Paradise is definitely my least favorite. I even like her Lizzy Grant album more cause I'm really into the 3am-at-the-trailer-park mood it has. BTD has the best hooks and carries tons of personal nostalgia, Ultraviolence is perfect for a night ride and includes her best song (West Coast) and Honeymoon is refreshing af. It's even harder to make a songs top 10 aside from the top 3 which is pretty clear to me (West Coast radio mix, Kill Kill, Diet Mtn Dew in that order).

Nah, the first five tracks of Ultraviolence are by far her strongest sequence so far and dwarf the whole of Born to Die.

Ultraviolence is immaculate. I loooove that album. My ranking:
Ultraviolence Born To Die
Paradise
Honeymoon (though "The Blackest Day" was my anthem).

I think Honeymoon is her best album. It brought together the hooks from BTD and the stronger concept/cohesiveness of UV together. HBTD / Freak / Art Deco is my favorite sequence on any of her albums.
As much as I loved it at the time (I was so obsessed), BTD is probably her weakest album overall.
High By The Beach / West Coast are just perfect Lana.
f**k I love her.

Her albums are excellent. I'd probably rank them:
1. Honeymoon 2. Ultraviolence 3. Born To Die 4. Paradise
"The Blackest Day" is her best song. Just so phenomenal--atmospheric and emotional.

Agree with you – BTD was everything to me then, but now it feels so... easy? compared to the others. Like it was the beginning of an idea she since refined so much. Truly she's been getting better with each album for me, and I couldn't love her more.

While I'm at it with unpopular opinions – I think "Honeymoon" is her best song
Those harmonies on the chorus :'(

Wow. That lineup is even better than the Chicago Lollapalooza! Too bad it's such short notice or I would have planned to go because I am already planning a trip back with a friend of mine who was studying abroad with me when I was there back in 2001-2002.

Two new tracks (apparently "Summer Bummer" and "Cherry"?), alongside the pre-order of the album, will be available on July 12.
