"Verano": "Ain't No Little Girl": I assume both of them are geo-restricted? Why isn't "Kamikaze" in the playlist tho  Added all three to the playlist. "Verano" wasn't geo-restricted when I clicked the link, but I remember looking it up without any results. Hmm. "Ain't No Little Girl" was geo-restricted for me (which I assume it is for the US at least?). I just simply forgot "Kamikaze".  I think there are a few more missing that I must have just skipped. Let me know when you spot those so I can add them. I won't be using the playlist, so I won't be looking for it. |

Exhibitions - Set 1
Hello and welcome to our first set in our exhibition round! We have a total of 224 songs to vote through, so this should be a nice lengthy process to crown our winner! In this round, you will be seeing seeds 2-8 facing off against each other. Because not everything added up correctly, all #1s get a bye week, while a few #2 seeds get one as well (congrats to wheatsquares33 , bigfan101 , Web , and @antigonerising for your #2s getting chosen for bye!). There are 96 matchups this round, and we will vote 8 each day, so the exhibition round will take (hopefully) 12 days. You will have approximately 24 hours to vote for each round. Matchups were mostly random, but I switched things around to make sure same seeds weren't facing off against each other, users didn't face off against their own songs, as well as helping out the discovery songs by not placing them against big songs to the best of my ability. Ties will be broken by seed in the exhibition and regular seasons. Afterwards, they will be broken first by total votes, then by seed. Votes in the first round will not count towards ties since we have songs on bye for the round, which would make it unfair. If you're wondering how to play, all you need to do is pick a winner for each matchup: it's that easy! Make sure they're on matchups. Don't just pick your 8 favorite songs out of all of them. Picking two winners on one matchup doesn't go over smoothly. A remind for everyone since this was brought up during the selections last tournament: please listen to every song, even those you are unfamiliar with. There are quite a few of us (myself included) that put songs for people to discover, so throw us a bone by actually listening to our selections. Scared to Be Lonely is pretty good too, though. I like Dua Lipa a lot, and even Martin Garrix's electronic hook is less annoying than it usually is. Still going for my song, though.
Japandroids - "Near to the Wild Heart of Life" (Daryl, #8) vs.
Volbeat f/ Danko Jones – “Black Rose” (dm2081, #2)
Black Rose is one of the few Volbeat songs that I actually kind of like, but it's up against a tough matchup. Near to the Wild Heart of Life was a #1 on my chart for like 3 weeks.
Vaults – “One Day I'll Fly Away” (KDA Remix) (lyhom, #7) vs.
Kris Kross Amsterdam & Conor Maynard f/ Ty Dolla $ign - “Are You Sure?” (James, #5)
This is kind of a weird matchup. I mistakenly listened to the original Vaults song and was blown away by it and thought it was in the bag. Then I realized that a remix of it was in a tournament, and I didn't like the remix at all. It ruins the tone of the original song. I like Are You Sure a lot.
Bonobo f/ Nick Murphy - "No Reason" (Juan Carlos, #3) vs.
Pentatonix – “Hallelujah” (Az, #5)
There are enough Hallelujah covers to give one to every family in America. Granted, Pentatonix are super talented and their version puts a new spin on it, though it's overly melodramatic. I like how mellow the Bonobo track is.
Hey Violet – “Guys My Age” (gravey, #4) vs.
LP - "Lost on You" (Leo, #2)
Both of these are pretty solid, and I hear them on the radio all the time. I tend to get more excited for LP though.
Jennifer Nettles - "Hey Heartbreak" (bboat11, #8) vs.
Ed Sheeran – “Shape of You” (zaclord, #4)
I have mixed feelings about Shape of You. I hear it at least three times a day on the radio, sometimes I'll listen to it, sometimes I won't depending on my mood. It's alright. Can't say I was too into Hey Heartbreak though.
Ryan Hurd – “City Girl” (bigfan101, #3) vs.
William Michael Morgan - "Missing" (Kanenrá:ke Stacey, #8)
City Girl was pretty cool sounding. Missing is eh.
Jon Bellion ft. Elmo - "Hand of God (Outro)" (YotamTS, #6) vs.
Sigrid - "Don't Kill My Vibe" (Juan Carlos, #2)
Hand of God is better than All Time Low (although it takes a lot of effort to be as bad as ATL), but the electronic hook part sounds pretty bad. I like the vocals and string section in the later half though. While I think Hand of God is inconsistent, I like its best parts more than anything in Don't Kill My Vibe.

- I wasn't really feeling "Seeing Stars". His vocals were a too bit monotone to my liking. The beat was nice. "Scared to Be Lonely" has been one of my favorites lately, so I will vote for it. Sorry wheatsquares!

- When I heard "Near to the Wild Heart of Life" the first time a few months ago, I didn't care for it. Second listen is a lot better to me. I love the instrumentation on it. I really liked "Black Rose" musically. Michael's voice sounds a bit out of place on it, but I think the music makes up for that. I think I prefer Volbeat here actually; something I wasn't anticipating.

Pentatonix – “Hallelujah” (Az, #5)
- "No Reason" was a better second listen for me than it was on the first when it first came out. I love Chet Faker/Nick Murphy, so I was hoping to like it more, but now I think I might add it. I've never really like Pentatonix, so easy vote for me.

LP - "Lost on You" (Leo, #2)
- I was enjoying "Guys My Age" more than I thought I would, but the chorus is kinda meh. Also, the lyrics are a bit cringeworthy. I like her vocals though! The instrumentation is cool on "Lost on You", but the vocals don't really do much for me.
Jennifer Nettles - "Hey Heartbreak" (bboat11, #8) vs.
Ed Sheeran – “Shape of You” (zaclord, #4)
- "Hey Heartbreak" is decent. I like the production. Jennifer's vocals have never really interested me, and that still stands here. "Shape of You" is basic af, so easy vote here.
Ryan Hurd – “City Girl” (bigfan101, #3) vs.
William Michael Morgan - "Missing" (Kanenrá:ke Stacey, #8)
- I really liked "City Girl" on first listen! I was hoping the chorus would hit a bit harder on it, but overall, it was a good listen. I like the twang of "Missing". I'm not into it as much as "City Girl" though.
Jon Bellion - "Hand of God (Outro)" (YotamTS, #6) vs.
Sigrid - "Don't Kill My Vibe" (Juan Carlos, #2)
- I thought "Hand of God" was pretty solid. I only remember a few songs from The Human Condition when I listened to it a few months ago. "Don't Kill My Vibe" was decent. It didn't really capture me though. I think I would like it on repeat listens though, it sounds like a grower. In the moment, I will go with Jon.

I know Martin and Dua have this stitched up so I wanna throw my vote the way of the underdog. That said though, 'Scared To Be Lonely' is alright too, but I'm over EDM songs all having drops and I haven't really been able to get into Dua Lipa. Japandroids - "Near to the Wild Heart of Life" (Daryl, #8) vs.Volbeat f/ Danko Jones – “Black Rose” (dm2081, #2)- I wasn't very into the Japandroids song, I didn't dislike it but it didn't do much for me in general. The Volbeat song was pretty cool though, it's getting my vote here. Vaults – “One Day I'll Fly Away” (KDA Remix) (lyhom, #7) vs.Kris Kross Amsterdam & Conor Maynard f/ Ty Dolla $ign - “Are You Sure?” (James, #5)- I don't get this Vaults cover/remix. The remix doesn't feel like it fits together properly, and I hate the really thick slapback echo on the vocals, it sounds really messy. I'm not a Conor Maynard fan either but this was a really easy choice to make. Bonobo f/ Nick Murphy - "No Reason" (Juan Carlos, #3) vs.Pentatonix – “Hallelujah” (Az, #5)- A little sad Pentatonix is gonna be out immediately, at least it's not going down in a total blowout. :'( Truth be told though, this was literally the last song I picked just to fill my top 8 before picking my alts so I kinda had the feeling going in they would be cannon fodder. I love PTX and their 'Hallelujah' cover grew on me a lot. I love the drama of it tbh. Hey Violet – “Guys My Age” (gravey, #4) vs.LP - "Lost on You" (Leo, #2)- The production on 'Guys My Age' is a bit of a turn-off tbh. But then the vocals on 'Lost On You' also didn't appeal to me very much either. Overall the Hey Violet song was more appealing to me though, so they get my vote here. Jennifer Nettles - "Hey Heartbreak" (bboat11, #8) vs.Ed Sheeran – “Shape of You” (zaclord, #4)- The becky is strong with this one and I'm not here for it.  I like 'Hey Heartbreak' though so mine isn't just a protest vote. Ryan Hurd – “City Girl” (bigfan101, #3) vs.William Michael Morgan - "Missing" (Kanenrá:ke Stacey, #8)- Ryan's supposed to be a country artist, right? I've said plenty of times before (lol) that I'm not a country fan, but IDK I thought 'City Girl' didn't sound very country. I thought it was quite good though. This was a REALLY easy decision to make, 'cause William Michael Morgan is just not for me. Jon Bellion - "Hand of God (Outro)" (YotamTS, #6) vs.Sigrid - "Don't Kill My Vibe" (Juan Carlos, #2)- To be blunt, I wasn't here for either of these, but Jon's song draaaaagggggggeddddddd out way too long.
