This was close. I liked the sound of "Seeing Stars" but having an affinity for female vocals put "Scared To Be Lonely" over the edge/

- "Seeing Stars" was up at the start, but "Scared to Be Lonely" started closing in fairly quickly and ran away with the victory. "Scared to Be Lonely" moves on 17-6. Japandroids - "Near to the Wild Heart of Life" (Daryl, #8) vs.
Volbeat f/ Danko Jones – “Black Rose” (dm2081, #2) - A close matchup throughout. Japandroids was up for most, but Volbeat was usually a step or two behind. Sadly for Volbeat, it couldn't entirely catch up, as "Near to the Wild Heart of Life" wins this matchup 13-10. Vaults – “One Day I'll Fly Away” (KDA Remix) (lyhom, #7) vs. Kris Kross Amsterdam & Conor Maynard f/ Ty Dolla $ign - “Are You Sure?” (James, #5)
- Wow. This was just a straight onslaught from the start. I think lyhom lost a lot of votes because of his inclusion of the KDA Remix rather than the original. Even lyhom voted for "Are You Sure?" over his own song lmao. "Are You Sure?" started off on a 9-0 run and didn't need to look back. I think this might be the biggest battering of any matchup since I took over for the Madness tournament. "Are You Sure?" wins this one 21-2. Bonobo f/ Nick Murphy - "No Reason" (Juan Carlos, #3) vs.
Pentatonix – “Hallelujah” (Az, #5) - This matchup actually really surprised me. I didn't think Bonobo would have the power to beat Pentatonix, but "No Reason" pretty much wins this with ease. "No Reason" beats the "Hallelujah" cover 14-9. Hey Violet – “Guys My Age” (gravey, #4) vs. LP - "Lost on You" (Leo, #2)
- The closest matchup of the set. The lead changes were big on this one. It was a lot of back and forth action, but for the most part "Guys My Age" was up for a decent amount of time. The last five or so votes favored more to "Lost on You", which takes the set 12-11. Jennifer Nettles - "Hey Heartbreak" (bboat11, #8) vs. Ed Sheeran – “Shape of You” (zaclord, #4)
- The Beckiness is real. I felt bad for putting "Hey Heartbreak" against "Shape of You" when I was pairing songs up, but it was hard to avoid. I guess I'll say it here if anyone notices, this tournament has a lot more diversity than the last tournament. Bravo everyone! Back to the matchup, "Shape of You" had ahold of the matchup the entire time, as it wins 16-7. Ryan Hurd – “City Girl” (bigfan101, #3) vs.
William Michael Morgan - "Missing" (Kanenrá:ke Stacey, #8) - Another close matchup throughout. These two were tied for up by one or two for the entire set. I thought "Missing" had the advantage from early on in the voting, but "City Girl" started to come into its own as it wins 13-10. Jon Bellion - "Hand of God (Outro)" (YotamTS, #6) vs.
Sigrid - "Don't Kill My Vibe" (Juan Carlos, #2) - This one started off pretty far apart, as "Hand of God" was up about 8-1 in the beginning. Sigrid started to get some votes, but it couldn't beat the pace of "Hand of God", as Jon wins 16-7.

I liked Kamikaze a lot. Sounds like some kind of crossover between Fleetwood Mac and Sia. I couldn't make it through Overwhelming.
Michael Logen – “Darkness Within” (Az, #6) vs.
Will Heard - "I Better Love You" (Juan Carlos, #7)
Darkness Within is awesome! That dark symphonic/electronic rock sound is like my favorite genre. Reminds me of Les Friction or Spiritual Machines. IBLY is really good too.
The Chainsmokers f/ XYLØ - "Setting Fires" (Yinzer Daya, #7) vs.
Britt Nicole – “Through Your Eyes” (zaclord, #3)
I don't typically like The Chainsmokers, but Setting Fires is pretty cool. Definitely one of the best I've heard from them. Through Your Eyes has great instrumentation and a good chorus, but I don't care for her voice very much.
Reba McEntire - “Back to God” (bboat11, #7) vs.
James Arthur – “Say You Won't Let Go” (zaclord, #8)
These are about equal. I've always thought SYWLG sounds like discount Ed Sheeran, but it's been growing on me lately. Back to Good has a pretty nice chorus, but the Southern drawl and lyrics are drawbacks.
Alvaro Soler - "Animal" (Juan Carlos, #5) vs.
Marshmello f/ Wrabel - "Ritual" (lyhom, #3)
Both were pretty good, but I didn't like the chorus of Ritual as much as the verses, where as Animal is pretty consistent throughout.
Jamie Lynn Spears – “Sleepover” (.indulgecountry, #3) vs.
The Weeknd – “Die for You” (Born In 1989, #7)
TIL Jamie Lynn Spears has been making country music since 2013. Was not aware of that. Can't say I'm a huge fan of this song, but it's not terrible. Die for You isn't the best I've heard from The Weeknd, but it's still pretty solid.
BT – “The Upside Down” (dm2081, #5) vs.
Cash Cash & ROZES - "Matches" (Yinzer Daya, #2)
The Upside Down is a pretty nice instrumental. Didn't like Matches much at all.
Bearson f/ Natalola - "One Step At A Time" (lyhom, #2) vs.
The Shins - "Name for You" (Daryl, #7)
I liked One Step at a Time's chorus, but the verses weren't that great. Name for You is a lot of fun and has already become one of my favorites from The Shins.

I like Lost On You cause it just sounds so fresh and unique, but I've been liking Guys My Age a lot since the time it showed up in the top 50 on pop radio

Ugh, this one was so hard.
Kamikaze is a good song I never heard before, Overwhelming is one of my least favorites off The Human Condition (which is a great Album).
I'm going with Kamikaze though, because I feel like it'll grow on me. I wouldn't mind both of these going through.

Yeah I'm discovering so many songs I'm liking on here and a number of songs I already am familiar with and love
Ya'll got great taste in music
I also have a load of new artists I should check out as a result
There so far has only been a handful of songs I didn't like, but it's a low amount in comparison to all the ones I like or love
