Well, looky there, I forgot to post the honorable mention in between #4 and #3.

Note to God


"Note to God" is the closing track from The High Road. It's a gorgeous ballad about asking God why there is so much pain and turmoil in the world. The track is written by Dianne Warren. The reason it is a staple in JoJo's discography, though, isn't because of JoJo. Roughly three years after The High Road's release, Oprah featured this brand new young up-and-coming vocalist named Charice on her show. Charice performed a cover of "Note to God," and it became a hit for her after the stellar performance, peaking at #44 on the Hot 100. JoJo, unfortunately, saw no bump because of it. The track was removed to iTunes after the performance. Likely label problems, of course.

[Az Paynter]

Australia has co-opted 'Note To God' as a holiday song lol - it's been performed a few times at Carols By Candlelight (a big televised carols show on Christmas Eve). Unfortunately it's the Charice version that they keep using; I always thought her version was too bombastic, while JoJo's version is a lot more understated (at least production-wise) and VASTLY superior.

Not surprised in any shape or form about the top 2. I expect "Too Little Too Late" to come out on top.

If you'd have swapped "Save My Soul" with "Anything" it would have been a perfect top 5.

Marvin's Room (Can't Do Better)


"Marvin's Room (Can't Do Better)" is another cover/rework of a previous song, "Marvins Room" by Drake. Like "Beautiful Girls Reply," JoJo's cover is a retelling in the perspective of a female. Several other artists did similar things, but Drake partically liked JoJo's cover, saying "she actually took the time to write really potent new lyrics. It was really shocking, I think, for her audience since throughout her career she's been kind of stereotyped as this teen pop star and then she comes out with this different kind of substance. It's very rare that people take your song and do it over like that." Her cover of "Marvins Room" is so popular that JoJo even included it on her Mad Love Tour.

-First off, what even is this single cover?
"Leave (Get Out)" is JoJo's debut single and the lead single from her debut self titled album. JoJo was only 13 at the time of the song's release and the track was absolutely huge. In fact, JoJo became the youngest solo artist ever to reach numer one on Billboard's Pop Songs chart. It is a massive staple in JoJo's discography. Unfortunately, JoJo has expressed distase for the song as well as much of her debut album because of its poppier tone. She still performs it often, but usually with a different arrangement.

Notes
"Too Little Too Late," your number one song, is undoubtedly the biggest and most iconic song in JoJo's discography. It was the lead single to JoJo's second album, The High Road. Upon its digital release, the track broke the record for biggest jump into the top three on the Hot 100, jumping from number 66 to number three. (That record has since been broken and is currently held by Kelly Clarkson's "My Life Would Suck Without You.") The track has also received tons of positive reviews from critics.

You may or may not be aware Au$tin, but the Zedd remix of 'The Other Chick' leaked this year. Supposedly the remix caused a lot of upset in JoJo's camp, as the producers of the original version got very defensive and butthurt that Zedd's remix was better than their production, and that is at least part of the reason why 'The Other Chick' was scrapped. Note that this remix was produced in 2011 before Zedd's career blew up.

The Zedd Remix SLAPS! I thought I was infatuated with the song before, but this remix got me over the moon and sweating at the same time.
