Honorable MentionCity LightsNot gonna lie, I chose all of the honorable mentions I did because they have some sort of significance in JoJo's discography. However, there are two I picked just because I love them and sometimes I can be selfish! This is one of those times. "City Lights" is the sixth (or seventh in European editions) track from JoJo's self titled debut album. The track is a complete throwback to 90s hip-hop that pays homage to the Beats of the 60s. In fact, some of the lyrics are even inspired by noteable Beat author, Jack Kerouac. While it was always a favorite of mine and solidified my love for JoJo, I gained a whole new love for the song after studying the Beat Generation in my English Literature class my sophomore year of college in which the entire class was about American literature of the 50s and 60s. Gotta be honest. "Good Thing" is fine and all, but it's one of my least favorites on Mad Love. It's just so generic, I don't really get the love. THANK YOU. I never have a desire to listen to that song. Sounds like some generic song that would play in a club I would never go to. It's not TERRIBLE but definitely beneath JoJo's abilities. So far, I am fine with all the eliminations, even though I was a BGR fan. |

Awwww, my #1 and #4 ranked so low. I have such a love for her mixtape songs, except "Andre."
Also, I'm in the camp of LOOOOOOVING "Good Thing!" I danced like crazy when it was the encore at her show!

JoJo cites the inspiration for "Sexy to Me" as Michael Jackson. In an interview, she stated "I had posters of him in my room. He’s incredible. I used to watch his tour DVDs. If they had mashed up the demo with the mastered version I would've put it slightly higher. They should've kept the post-chorus on it.
