This is a pretty terrible top 10 this week for me. The only songs I actually enjoy on here are That's What I Like and Paris, although Paris has burned on me. Probably the the week with the least amount of songs I enjoy since I started following the charts in early 2014. Although that does make it somewhat interesting for me. I find it strange how some people can listen to songs like Mask Off, XO TOUR Llif3 and iSpy without either falling asleep or bleeding from their ears, yet there are clearly many people who really do enjoy the songs. I guess it just shows how my tastes are becoming less and less 'mainstream' (which of course isn't necessarily a bad thing, people enjoy what they enjoy). I think one thing though that most people can agree on is that a lot of these songs are a little darker/moodier in atmosphere (even EDM songs like Something Just Like This and Paris), both in the top 10 and on the Hot 100 in general. Hopefully for the summer we can get some uptempo-ish, bright, fresh songs, like Can't Stop The Feeling and Into You last summer

The top 3 is pretty much untouchable. HUMBLE has number one locked up next week. Everything after the top 3 is a toss up at best. SJLT will probably retain the top 5. Stay, Issues, DNA and possibly It Ain't Me all entering next week is gonna really change the top 10. BLAB, SOTT, Paris are defintely gone next week. I could see XO dropping depending on how strong the 4th entry is. I for one pray Shape of You gets a 13th week, just so there's more than 1.

This week's Top 10 has given the most discussion I have seen since I became a member. I think next week's Top 10 should also generate plenty of discussion.

People are gonna be pissed because of Kendrick Lamar I'm gonna explode because he will have Humble-di-bumble at No. 1 + one-three more Top 10 hits

According to Gary Trust, here are 3 other songs on the Hot 100: Location (24-20) At My Best (re-94) Scared to Be Lonely (90-80)

People are gonna be pissed because of Kendrick Lamar. Do many people on this board hate Kendrick Lamar? Because if not, then I'm pretty sure people aren't gonna be pissed at the fact that Kendrick Lamar is gonna dominate the Hot 100 next week unless they just hate Hot 100 dominations in general.

Both. 1. There will be people hating Kendrick Lamar reigning while the ones who love it will fight with these people 2. There will be people be pissed because the chart is so boring with only one artist being everywhere (I will probably be one of them; although I already made my peace with Humble. being a hit and I can stand Loyalty. (wonder why..))

HUMBLE got 4 million streams in a day on Spotify on the first day of the album release. It has been going down with big chunks since, but it still has a huge lead. It should easily be enough to make up for Ed's massive airplay advantage (their sales are about even, but Kendrick should have a higher number there too).

Am I the only one who hates this new Billboard live Top 10 show? I just want a straight reveal of all the songs without listening to two guys talk for 15 or more minutes. They still do a straight top 10 video, but it's posted later now.

I for one pray Shape of You gets a 13th week, just so there's more than 1. There already is more than one: "End Of The Road" and "The Boy Is Mine" both spent 13 weeks on top

I like some of the recent streaming-boosted top 10 entries (Passionfruit, HUMBLE., etc...) but most of them just bore me. (XO Tour Lif3, Tunnel Vision).
I'm fine with it but I just wish streaming actually spread the love among several genres. At least country is represented for the first time in years, even if a lot of country fans seem to dislike the track.

Thank god "Tunnel Vision" is gone...now we just need to kick out "Body Like A Back Road".

Still mad that so many songs make the top ten just cause of a stupid viral challenge and at times of already vicious chart cycles it's even worse cause it adds on to the blockage pile that ends up being inevitable during certain times on the Hot 100
Only song that I ever liked from a viral challenge I think is My Boo - Ghost Town DJ's and that's cause it was already an older jam from the late 90s and not some new crap.

Haha! Kendrick's falling hard on Spotify! Now his no.1 next week is NOT locked! Based on my rough calculation it's gonna call for at least 65M streams to take no.1 over from Sheeran. I'm not so sure about that
My earlier crazy estimation (which I deleted) was way confident and I didn't bargain for him falling this hard.
But I'm so glad that he may not guarantee a no.1. I'm so tired of Kendrick. His voice's annoying and condescending and the song and video are the most overrated **** ever and suck a big one and his albums are so depressing and not deep enough.
Root for him never hit no.1

Root for him never hit no.1 Humble gets 3x more streams on spotify than Ed. I think that it depends more on Ed than Kendrick. I'll say that if he'll peak on radio, Kendrick has a 90% chance to get that #1. Currently it's like 65%.

I think one thing though that most people can agree on is that a lot of these songs are a little darker/moodier in atmosphere (even EDM songs like Something Just Like This and Paris), both in the top 10 and on the Hot 100 in general. It has been that way since last year. A lot of the songs that gets popular these days, including party songs like "One Dance" or "Cheap Thrills", have been pretty downbeat and kinda depressing in their tone. It certainly makes for a great contrast for when pop divas and party songs that were upbeat and happy utterly dominated the charts in the early 2010s. The pop music landscape has certainly changed since then, but whether it's for the better or worse is up to you to decide.

I blame 2013 for making it more low-tempo, less upbeat, more dark, and just worse in general.

She introduced The Weeknd to the masses, and he deffinately had a lot of impact on modern music.

As much as I'm aware that music is subjective, the fact people are rooting for things like the Lil Uzi Vert song makes me wonder whether Pop music should be the one that's regarded as 'lowest common denominator' anymore.

Root for him never hit no.1 such a great troll. It's really not troll. People don't know what depth is and Kendrick literally has kept disappointing me with his music. Why can he get 99% on Metacritic? If I reduce that points for his album being way too depressing and religiously sanitized I'm gonna give him a 60%-70%. Not to mention HUMBLE. sounds damn awful musically. Not catchy, lyrically still limited his dusty vision, and production half-basked at most. Not impressive to me. Boring, overrated, and obnoxious vocal. Since when can he pull any mainstream success? I'd love to see Shape of You finally not be another song somehow magically blocked at 12 week mark again by an out-of-nowhere streaming atrocity. Kendrick's existence somehow makes the chart boring to watch
