The Unbreakable era is over as the renamed State of the World Tour dates are rescheduled to fall 2017. Tickemaster is beginning to show the new dates for those who are still holding tickets from the postponed Unbreakable Tour. Unconfirmed rescheduled dates: September 29 Portland, OR October 26 Chicago (Rosemont), IL November 18 Baltimore, MD November 19 Newark, NJ December 3 Cleveland, OH December 11 Sunrise, FL December 17 Atlanta, GA New music is rumoured according to a source from The Sun. Janet Jackson ‘to reschedule her 75 axed tour dates as she plans new album about motherhood’

Definitely going to the Dec. 17th date. I do wonder though will demand still be there? Staying silent and away from the press won't work this time. I want interviews, videos, and whatever else to re-established her brand.

Great news about the tour restarting. I was lucky enough to see the Unbreakable Tour in Winnipeg before she cancelled. Not sure I'm here for an album about motherhood. F**k it, I'm always here for new Janet in any form...

1) I'm sad about the separation. But I hope it works out for the best.
2) I'm shocked that we got a picture of Eissa at 3 months old. All of us expected to see him in his teens.
3) Jimmy Jam has alluded to them having recorded more songs in 2014-2015 and that more is to come. Gil allegedly confirmed new music is coming soon.
4) Trying to restart a tour with a 2 year old album is very difficult. It cannot be done without promo either. So if it's an EP, it'll be great.
5) Renaming the tour is a great way to create some buzz and excitement. I just hope she spreads out the dates and doesn't tire herself out. There are a lot of fans that have been let down and they have to make sure this tour goes well.
6) I do hope she downsizes venues in Europe and/or does festivals. She'll do well in other territories like Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. Hopefully she'll do some theaters or festivals in Latin America.

What's so interesting is how she is this unwarranted reputation for canceling shows when before Unbreakable the only tour she canceled was Rock with you. She did 81 shows for the Up close and Personal tour after the Rock with you tour and who would expect a 50 YO woman to perform while pregnant. I swear she just can't catch a break with some people.

She did 81 shows for the Up close and Personal tour after the Rock with you tour and who would expect a 50 YO woman to perform while pregnant. I swear she just can't catch a break with some people. She cancelled the entire European leg of the AFY tour and cited 9/11 as rationale, which was simply BS (tickets weren't selling well). The issues with her tours started there. More than anything, I think her poor communication with fans and ticketholders around the reasons for show cancellation (and plans to make up cancelled dates) has led to this reputation. |

Sorta OT but I wish music "fans" and media wouldn't be so vicious about poor ticket sales so much. I feel like most artists would be more upfront about the fact that they're cancelling b/c of sluggish sales (because duh, if you're not bringing in the money you're not going to operate a tour at a loss) if people wouldn't essentially turn it into a PR nightmare by dragging them mercilessly for it and making it seem like some huge career TKO when many times, it's just an overestimation of demand at the time, nothing more and nothing less. That said I do agree that Janet's poor communication is the source of a lot of her fans' ire. With this tour in particular I think it was off-putting because a 50 year old doesn't just 'get' pregnant. Some degree of planning had to go into that decision, and it didn't seem like she thought the whole juggling-family-and-career thing through at all until the family part of it actually happened. |

I think her overall touring and concerts are impressive. I wish she'd slow down with committing to so many dates, but also cater to other markets. She can keep her name and music out there with concerts, shows, and performances here and there.
She'll be ridiculed if she keeps postponing. Something different has to be done. And I'd love to finally see her fans in Central and South America get a show.
