I think you've made it quite clear that you want her to fail. While that is true, I don't see how that was relevant in the context of the post you quoted. Even the biggest Camila fan can see that they're pushing her hardcore. And I'm curious as to what they see in her to warrant it. I don't even recall Epic pushing Meghan this hard. There's usually some type of hook (viral element, huge social media following, big name, general X factor, etc) that they're trying to capitalize on to ensure success. But I don't see those elements at work for her. She was clearly always the label's favorite from the beginning, but I'm seeing a Meghan type (bigger girl, body image, doo-wop) or Ariana type (Mariah-lite) hook. As someone above posited, it could be to make sure she doesn't fail and that her success can draw more attention to the soon-to-be-released Fifth Harmony single and project. It's a win-win for the label. So chill out and take your overdefensive stan reaction somewhere else. No one is trolling. And as long as I'm on topic, not derailing, and not trolling, my presence here shall continue whether you like it or not. Just because you can't see it doesn't mean it's not there. I never used Fifth Harmony, nor did I know Camila before Work From Home, but I see it. The girl has potential and I totally see why they're pushing her like they are.

I guarantee they have a high profile duet lined up in case this flops... I.e Taylor, Beiber, Mendes... it's clear the label really wants her to succeed. This is poised to be big on radio. I don't think it'll be the "song of the summer" but it'll for sure be big enough that she can continue to capitalize. Personally, I was hoping for something more...uptempo? Especially for summer, but the album won't come out until September so I'm sure there'll be another single in just a couple of months. As hot as the Major Lazer song sounds, I doubt it'll do much. To be quite honest, I was shocked to see that her debut single doesn't have a feature. That'd pretty much guarantee for the song to succeed. I'm pretty sure 5H's will have yet another rapper.

He has literally said nothing of the contrary. He doesn't see it and doesn't understand the massive push that most newer artists don't receive. That is different from outright saying there isn't any reason, though. One is trolling while the other is genuine contribution to the conversation. Instead of being picked apart for his comment, the right thing to do would be to just explain the big push without being snotty. But apparently some users here feel personally attacked when someone else questions something they like (not insinuating you specifically, your post was just the latest in the conversation). Plenty of people have a large distaste for this girl for several reasons. She is definitely not the most easily likeable celebrity. That's part of why it is a little hard to grasp this big push behind her. It's going to be really difficult to overcome that stigma, and it's also not like she was a household name before she went solo, and neither were Fifth Harmony. This isn't like Beyoncé leaving Destiny's Child or Justin Timberlake leaving N Sync. In fact, Zayn and One Direction even had bigger name recognition than Camila Cabello and Fifth Harmony. Sure, a push is going to be necessary for any artist, but one of this magnitude seems really risky since it could just as easily backfire and cost the label loads of money as it could make them loads of money. That's why it's harder to grasp why so much time and effort is being sunk into her when overcoming her not so great image and unrecognizable face are immense challenges. It's actually really similar to Zara Larson. She's been given heavy promotion everywhere despite not being a surefire money maker. The strategy paid off in Europe where she became a fairly big star. However here in the states, it was a terrible strategy and she basically has no career here since now the label doesn't want to waste their time and effort on something that didn't work before. I'm afraid trying to convey an artist as an A-list big name before they actually are one is a little detrimental when it comes to the US music industry.

This will probably have a similar run to Issues/Down. Great start with massive updates but eventually slows down and struggles once it makes the top 10.

So good. Never expected to like a single of hers...no reason why I'm surprised, just am.

8th day effect actually, which means it's pretty good - 322 total spins on its 8th full day of airplay versus 208 on its 1st full day (hence the +116 increase). QUICK EDIT: I forgot this already snuck in a few spins before its first full day so I adjusted the numbers.

I'm afraid trying to convey an artist as an A-list big name before they actually are one is a little detrimental when it comes to the US music industry. I think she's similar to Ariana Grande's situation at launch. Ariana was not well known outside tweener/young teen land but she had a big online following and a passionate fan base there, Plus she was cute with a great voice for pop radio. Camilla is all those things with a multiple hits under her belt --- but minus Ariana's charisma. I think in this day of diminishing returns for labels they might see her as worth the push. Girl has had this many hits and a solid fan base without really having a likeable persona, so maybe they figure they can put her recognizable voice over some catchy songs and coach her into wider marketability. That said I find her pretty annoying. LOL. But good luck to them, I ain't mad at her.

I'm into this and I can't separate my skepticism of her as a person with the music. I think she has a chance to get a few hit singles under her belt. However I think her album is going to TANK. Even with the social media hype 5th harmony had, X factor, and sledgehammer + worth it, their album only sold 150k which is abysmal.
Their second album had work from home, a big hit, and a respectable follow up single and the album barley scratched 100k
with 5 girls moving ~100k albums I fear what one girl can move even with hit singles

It took me this long to listen to her song because she is Camilla not Britney but I kinda dig it! I like she went the route of Sia because otherwise she would have been out here in these streets like screeching weasel teas. I like this subdued style.
I just think your introduction to the world as a solo artist should either be more original or showcase the real you as far as that goes we shall see what the public feels about her as an artist . This is cute enough but will not propel her album, career or brand. Which I'm okay with because she can't sing and she can barely wobble on stage on rhythm but if she gives me cute songs, I'll listen.
There are a million girls in the world who can be the next Camilla Cabello and this song didn't convince me to get invested.

No one is really selling much anyways. 5H has been able to survive with just one big hit per album.

Wouldn't have been upset to see it as the lead single.
