I think that I actually support this. It's very catchy, I would like to hear it during summer, it definetely sounds like a summer song to me. Feels like a more energetic version of Cheap Thrills.

Second most added with 81 Pop adds! Impressive considering she didn't have a radio deal for this.

When something is written by Sia it's so obvious and Camila decided to try to sing a bit like her too. Doesn't stop me from liking this single though, hoping it will be a hit.

Camila has brought me out of the shadows and back to this site... gotta say, I love this song. Massive update today. With that said, I am obsessed with "I Have Questions". She announced her album will drop in September, so it looks like she will be spending the summer pushing/promoting a few songs. Strong team behind her, I can't see how this will fail.

I guarantee they have a high profile duet lined up in case this flops... I.e Taylor, Beiber, Mendes... it's clear the label really wants her to succeed.

Definitely not Taylor, Taylor doesn't do those kind of duets, unless it benefits her, and she won't win anything by dueting with Camila. Anyway, Camila has already confirmed herself that there is a collaboration with a rapper on her album, and her song with Major Lazer is out in a few days

Super catchy song! Sia can do no wrong when it comes to songwriting.

I was talking to my mom earlier today and she likes this. :O She saw Camila's Billboard performance the other night and was asking me if I saw it. So am I! It's so good.

Smashing.
Just announced that Ed Sheeran, Pharrell, and Charlie XCX all have features on the album. Label spared no expense.

I like the Genie sample.
I'm still not sure what the label sees in her to warrant such hardcore promo and high profile collaborations though.

I like the Genie sample. I'm still not sure what the label sees in her to warrant such hardcore promo and high profile collaborations though. My guess is Epic sees investing heavily in Camila as a better payoff then letting her flop as a solo artist. She is leaving a group with worldwide recognition and has done several successful features as a solo artist. Not a terrible launching point if you want to establish a new "pop star". On the flip side, if she flopped, it could have a negative impact on 5H too. I bet they decided to double down on the investment for Camila and 5H to not only save the 5H brand from getting devalued with her exit, but also to establish a new top performing artist. Turn a negative situation into a win-win for everybody. Why else would Epic want to drop a 5H single a few days after Camilas? They want the press, the hype and the chart competition. ;)

Along with her new song "To Be Human" and this for me Sia´s sound is officially dated and the thing from the past, she is selling the same dramatic abstract misery chorus for the tenth time and I´m not buying it anymore, her sound has really stalled and stuck in a moment and has zero refreshness in it.

I'm still not sure what the label sees in her to warrant such hardcore promo and high profile collaborations though. I think you've made it quite clear that you want her to fail. While that is true, I don't see how that was relevant in the context of the post you quoted. Even the biggest Camila fan can see that they're pushing her hardcore. And I'm curious as to what they see in her to warrant it. I don't even recall Epic pushing Meghan this hard. There's usually some type of hook (viral element, huge social media following, big name, general X factor, etc) that they're trying to capitalize on to ensure success. But I don't see those elements at work for her. She was clearly always the label's favorite from the beginning, but I'm seeing a Meghan type (bigger girl, body image, doo-wop) or Ariana type (Mariah-lite) hook. As someone above posited, it could be to make sure she doesn't fail and that her success can draw more attention to the soon-to-be-released Fifth Harmony single and project. It's a win-win for the label. So chill out and take your overdefensive stan reaction somewhere else. No one is trolling. And as long as I'm on topic, not derailing, and not trolling, my presence here shall continue whether you like it or not.

I never understood why people come in threads with hatred or bias towards an artist then get mad when someone calls them out. How about keeping that negative energy all to yourself?

Because this isn't a fan board. I noticed the Genie sample stuck in my head (which is notable since I've only heard the song maybe 4/5 times) and came here to voice my appreciation for it, which you conveniently cropped out of your quoting of my post. And honestly, I've only made one post in this thread that was wholly negative, and that was my initial review of the song. This thread isn't about me. There's a way to have healthy discourse without every post either being praise or daily updates. And if you can't handle that, feel free to either put all of my posts on ignore or skip over them. Hop off my dick. It's really that easy. Caviar Nick

Why wouldn't they push Camila? She's had hits with a (kind of popular) girl group, she's the most popular member and it's easier to brand and sell a solo artist than a group. It's also way easier to push an artist that's established than a new act. She's young, attractive, marketable and could potentially be a cash cow. It's pretty much up to them and her not to f**k it up (see Nicole Scherzinger).

To clarify, I was surprised by the extent that they're pushing her. Of course I didn't expect them to throw her out there to dry (a la Tinashe), but I wasn't expecting the months-long media campaign, super high profile collaborators, and major television awards show spots.

^That's my point too. She's a cute girl. Labels want to market young attractive artists. Will she see Zayn or Harry type success? Probably not, but she deserves a chance. I don't understand why some people wish for someone to fail. Don't buy or stream. It's that easy!
