I honestly hate the Alternative format. Rather, I hate what it's become. I loved 90s alternative, but not what passes for Alt today. There are some gems in it, but overall... not my thing.
"Come A Little Closer" is alright I guess, but it's nothing I'd choose to ever listen to.
So glad "Lazaretto" is gone. I can't stand Jack White.

"Heaven Knows" might have fared better on my list if not for massive overplay. Got sick of it. Still a great song, though.

Putting Mastodon in your bottom 10 is a sin....
Also this song shits on "Show Yourself".

I like the music on "High Road" but the vocals bother me and I'm not a Mastodon fan. "Show Yourself" is really great though.

I'm getting slaughtered tonight. Some thoughts:
"Wrong Side Of Heaven" deserved better. I thought it was one of FFDP's best efforts, and the music video was pretty epic as well.
"Come A Little Closer" - not surprised its out where it went out at, seeing how its not very Active sounding. I ranked based on quality of the songs though, and its one of my favorite rock songs this decade.
Nice to see we have SOME passionate Mastodon fans on here, but its not enough. We need to educate everyone on here about their greatness.

That last Pretty Reckless song put my top 10 red alert. Unless you guys suck completely; my last, remaining, top 10 song, should go the distance? I'll come back to rate the last ten songs later.

"Adrenalin" is great, but Shinedown has better. Seeing them live this summer and am excited!

This is way too high. One of my least favorite Shinedown singles. (I like it, but I don't love it) Not to mention it nearly cost them their top 5 streak.

Never really liked "Always" that much. It's a little boring and I find it kind of cheesy. I never really listen to Killswitch Engage. I can't even hear any of their other music in my head, even though I know I've heard some of it. Will probably need to refresh my memory sometime. Daryl the Beryl I like that we're moving through this at a quick pace :)

Usually it's 10 to 15 updates per day. I usually do 15 so that we can finish it within a week. (I tried this with the 2015 rankdown)

This was top 20 at one point iirc, but then... > This fact disappointed me more than I expected. Then again, I expected "Always" to show up much earlier, around where "Bloody Angel" showed up. Hell, wasn't even the first of my top 10 to show up ("High Road" appeared a few spots earlier). I love that song more than words can express. I even considered putting it top 5.

"Always" was such a strong first listen for me. It's sort of like a metal power ballad of sorts. Good stuff.

45. Breaking Skin - NonpointMiddle of the road rock for me. I initially placed it at #79, but kept pushing it up. The guitars are what I liked about that song. 44. Do I Wanna Know? - Arctic MonkeysGreat song, but their were so many better and harder rock songs on this list. 43. Painkiller - Three Days GraceThis is probably the last song I really liked , since Adam left the band. The chorus is sing along worthy. 42. Edge of a Revolution - NickelbackNot surprised maine is the only one who ranked it higher than me. Another superb song from a superb band. 41. Addicted to Pain - Alter BridgeTwo of my top 10 songs out within minutes. WTF. You guys need more Alter Bridge in your life. 40. Wrong Side of Heaven - Five Finger Death PunchI admit that there is one song from this band that I realllly like. Hope it gets a realllly high ranking, but this isn't it. 39. Sleepwalking - Bring Me the HorizonCompared to that other crap song by this band that just won't show up; this is a masterpiece. I'm not a fan of this band at all, but I did like this one's chorus. 38. Drown - Theory of a DeadmanOne of the few TOAD songs that don't end up top 20 on my rankings. Not cock-rocky enough for me. "Angel" pulverized this song. 37. Come a Little Closer - Cage the ElephantGreat song. I surely will rank this higher on an Alt rankdown. 36. Lazaretto - Jack WhiteJack White seldom lets me down. Great song and I'm glad it made it this high. 35. Heaven Knows - The Pretty RecklessThat fact that @quirkyfarang slotted this song right up there with me; doesn't surprise me one bit. I would have put this at #1; had it not been for STP's stellar comeback. 34. High Road - MastodonNot bad, but doesn't hold a candle to "Show Yourself" . The vocals here are kind of off putting. Bitchin' music video tho. Really enjoyed that one. 33. I'm Only Joking - KONGOSReally never got the hype for this band. I ended up liking "Come Go With me" because it's playback on "The Expendables". This song actually struck me as silly. 32. Adrenaline - ShinedownI like Shinedown. This is Rocker Shinedown. Not Pop Shinedown. Good song and it just missed my top 50. 31. Always - Killswitch EngageI have no idea how this song made it this far? I didn't get any power ballad vibe from this at all and the lead singers vocal tone doesn't work for me. I think its those same tones that actually worked for other members lists

Loved the format (Modern Rock or whatever it was generally called) in the 90s, and it was without a doubt my favourite format back then, but it has evolved into something completely different now.
