I'm not convinced that Bruno, Abel and Ed all have that distinct personalities, and I think that Gaga's personality is much more memorable and big than Bruno, Abel and Ed combined imo. The Fame era tho shallow, established her as beyond queenly persona and huge controversy that it travels way faster than millions of album sales. But I don't think you can associate Ed with "big" or some huge energy that owns a whole floor that shatters boundaries. No way. Bruno's debut has literally never been that sensational and his fans are hardly the loudest, and like you said, Abel is too "cold, mysterious" to be "big" or that focusing on "musical" part of it, meaning the dark night bedroom vibe of his music is way to sullen that actually sucks the "dynamic" part of the industry. 
And seriously? They don't implement the darkness at all? "Poker Face", "Lovegame", The entirely The Fame Monster and Born This Way era is almost the textbook example of "dark and abysmal with or without depth", and can make people tremble and shatter in queenly justice that almost turns any established religion scene to cult-like roar in another dimension and Katy Perry's I Kissed a Girl, ET, Dark Horse were all fueled with boundary-pushing or deep space-vibed immediately evocative of dark images to me. Lady Gaga's one song in her earlier career, Katy Perry's one album is darker and have more personality than Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars and Abel's entire discography combined. In this case those guys are actually the boring ones. Really really boring.

Now that upon reflection, I think the real problem is simply CTTR, Bon Appetit are bad songs. Period.

I was posting about their new material. Please, tell me about CTTRs or MRs distinct character and personality and darkness. Currently the only thing that I get off of them other than being pop divas is that they're against Trump (which could have offended some of their audience).

That's What I Like has a strong radio advantage along with matching up to Despacito on YouTube. It's enough to leave large margins despite weakness in sales and Spotify, such that it's been called as the presumptive #1 by sim's formula.

Despacito should climb to #2 though, it has an advantage in almost every category to I'm the One.

Bon Appetit just jumped back into the iTunes Top 100, it's currently sitting at #96, which isn't great but it's a start at least. The song should fall completely off the Hot 100 tomorrow, that's a given. Though if first week YouTube streams hold up, it could look at a decent re-enter next week, especially if sales and airplay catch up by the end of the week.

There's rumors that she is dropping an album tomorrow, which if true, should probably give the song a large jump. And maybe another week for CTTR, we'll see.

CTTR didn't have the competition Malibu has, though. The three songs ahead of it were big (Shape, IDWLF, and Boujee). Shape was of course massive, IDWLF just had it's movie released, and Boujee was still a streaming juggernaut. However, after that, you didn't have much else going on. I mean, the week Katy debut, friggin Closer moved back into the top five, that's how slow that week was.

Of course, if it was released on Friday in the U.S. it would have been a sure top 10 debut, likely top 5. I don't understand the Thursday release; I mean, I know it's earlier in Europe and other parts of the world, but the only people checking for songs straight away are die-hard fans who are likely to download it regardless. Most people who download it would do so on whatever day it dropped.

Two things:

-Despacito has two versions. When combined, it's ahead of Miley.
-We're only part way through the third day of the tracking period. Not only is there still over half of the week left, but the remix version of Despacito is gaining on Miley and will likely overtake her as early as tonight. Not to mention the initial hype of Miley's sales won't be included in this week's numbers since it was released on a Thursday. All of those Thursday sales will count for the new chart tomorrow.

Coldplay Earns First Pop Songs No. 1 on 'Something Just Like This,' With The Chainsmokers

Coldplay notches its first No. 1 on Billboard's Pop Songs radio airplay chart, as "Something Just Like This," with The Chainsmokers, climbs 2-1 on the list dated May 27. The song crowns the ranking with a 6 percent gain in plays and was the only song played on all 167 of the chart's mainstream top 40 reporters in the week ending May 14, according to Nielsen Music.

The track is The Chainsmokers' third Pop Songs No. 1, following two in 2016: "Don't Let Me Down," featuring Daya, which led for three weeks, and "Closer," featuring Halsey (11 weeks).

Coldplay, meanwhile, rules at last with its 11th Pop Songs entry. The Chris Martin-led alt band reached a prior No. 12 Pop Songs high with "Viva La Vida" in 2008 (the group's sole No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100). Coldplay first hit Pop Songs on the chart dated March 31, 2001, with the eventual No. 22-peaking "Yellow," the act's career span of more than 16 years ends the longest wait for a first No. 1 (from a first entry on the chart), passing the nearly 12-year wait for Enrique Iglesias, who crowned the March 12, 2011, tally with "Tonight (I'm Lovin' You)," featuring Ludacris and DJ Frank E, after Iglesias first appeared on the chart in July 1999.

Coldplay expands its resume of genre airplay charts that it's topped, having amassed 12 No. 1s on both Alternative Songs and Adult Alternative Songs and one ("Viva") on both Adult Contemporary and Adult Pop Songs, while "Something" first topped the Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart dated May 13; it leads that tally for a third frame.


Also notable on Pop Songs, Miley Cyrus' "Malibu" debuts at No. 37 with roughly three-and-a-half days of airplay following its May 11 mid-day release. The song is her first entry on the chart since 2014. "We love it and think it will be huge," says John Ivey, iHeartMedia senior vp president of programming/pop brand manager and program director of KIIS Los Angeles (whose signal reaches the beaches of Malibu). "[Listener] response has been active. It's such a great song and progression for Miley."
