HOW did either "If I Were A Boy" or "Best Thing I Never Had" make it this high? They're so boring. The last three songs eliminated are truly shockers. "Irreplaceable" needs to go ASAP.

Sorry if I sound ignorant, but what the hell is "Becky" Beyonce has spent most of her career trying to please both pop fans (the Becky's) and urban fans. And depending on what style of music people prefer, they tend to gravitate towards one side or the other. Which is why this rankdown is all over the place. If I Were A Boy, and I guess BTINH, are prime examples of songs that pop fans seem to enjoy and urban fans seem to despise. And I think this divide has only grown with her last three albums since CHR has been paying her pop singles dust (BTINH, XO, etc), and she's kind of just said "f**k it" and isn't even trying to appeal to CHR anymore.

I think what Leo is really seeking is the etymology of the word 'Becky' and I'm too tired to properly explain it. ry4n's answer is definitely on point but it's also quite a bit deeper than that.

I'm actually okay with most of what's left in the Top 20. 11 of them are in my Top 15 and my entire Top 5 is still in.
F**k y'all for Lemonade only being album number 3 though.

Oh no, I'm not accepting this. If I Were A Boy is one of my favorites songs of ALL TIME Her voice, the lyrics, the instrumental... well just everything about it. I will NEVER understand the hate for it. It's just soooo beautiful. I love the Spanish version as well. How is it #26 below so many shitty songs :( aerodynamite - I'm mad at you Also side note - Best Thing I never had is pretty and deserves all the love. Why are these two masterpieces so low. ESPECIALLY IIWAB it's so perfect........

Thanks ry4n Seems like Im a Becky without knowing It's okay, most int'l music fans are ( #LisaRinna is a notable exception.) The current style of 'pure' urban music has always been something of a niche, even within the US. There's definitely never been a strong market for it outside our borders.

Catching up: "Dance For You" is really good. Excellent beat/production and Bey's vocals are great on it. It's not quite melodic enough for me to love it tho. But I listen to it and enjoy it. "Listen" is good, vocals slay. Song is generic and total cheese tho. "Upgrade U" was never a favorite, but it did grow on me a lot over the years. The line "I can do for you what Martin did for the people" is cringeworthy tho "Me Myself & I" is melodic and vocal heaven so yeah. "If I Were A Boy" sucks. That is all. "Beautiful Liar" SLAYS! Glad it made it this far but it should have definitely made it farther. .indulgecountry yay @ us both ranking it #4 "Sorry" is crap. WAY too high. You can call me a fan of Beckyonce cuz this is Urban Beyonce right? "Drunk In Love" is horrendous. I remember hearing it for the first time absolutely dumbfounded. Beyonce is way better than this, but it seemed to be a hit with fans. I hated the whole BEYONCE album tho, minus a couple songs... one of which is in this rankdown and has yet to be eliminated. "Hold Up" is okay. It's catchy, which is what saves it. Still, it's not really a Beyonce song I use. Good riddance "Best Thing I Never Had" you long overstayed your welcome!!! Boring ass generic song.

Pretty much all of Lemonade is the height of Urbanyonce...All Night is probably the closest she gets to anything that might remotely attract a pop fan's ear, but I wouldn't consider that a Becky song either.

Well. Hold Up is amazing and Formation too... both in my top 10. I still lost between Becky or Urban Bey Well, it's certainly possible to enjoy some of both. I like most 'Beckyonce' songs myself. The divide usually comes down to which one you prefer - typically pop fans will enjoy the majority of her more pop-friendly material but only a few of her overtly urban songs (or none of that at all). With the Urbanyonce fans, it's not that they never liked the poppy stuff - they're Bey fans so by default they're going to support most anything she does. It's just that once she started going deeper into her r&b roots they realized they much preferred that lane for her. Everything else feels 'basic' or 'pandering' to them. I was always a bit confused by Hold Up though because there are a fair number of pop fans who gravitated to it, which threw me off...it doesn't sound pop friendly to me at all. I have finally concluded that it must be because it sounds vaguely like a more urban take on a Selena Gomez/Julia Michaels song.

'Hold Up' - I think I ranked it too low, because I think I actually prefer it over some stuff that I ranked above it That line: What's worse? Looking jealous or crazy, jealous or crazy - is just iconic to me and I love it But if I had it a few places higher my #2 would've been even lower so it was for the better

20. All Night [566 points]"All Night" is a song recorded by American singer Beyoncé for her sixth studio album, Lemonade (2016). It was co-written and co-produced by Diplo and Beyoncé, while being co-written by Henry "King Henry" Allen, who was also responsible for co-production, Timothy Thomas, Theron Thomas, Ilsey Juber, Akil King, Aman Tekleab, Jaramye Daniels, André Benjamin, Patrick Brown and Antwan Patton.
A reggae-tinged track,[2] "All Night" features "sprinklings" of horns and strings in its instrumentation, while sampling the brass line from Outkast's song "SpottieOttieDopaliscious". The song was sent to rhythmic contemporary radio as the album's fifth single on December 6, 2016.[3] Lyrically, the song talks about forgiveness and rebuilding trust after infidelity, with the protagonist trying to rekindle the passion with her lover. The song's music video is part of a one-hour film with the same title as its parent album, originally aired on HBO. - Wikipedia Average: 25.7272727273 St Dev: 14.5083943458 Chart Peaks: US - 38 / UK - 60 / France - 71 / Canada - 73 06 #LisaRinna09 aerodynamite09 born10 Albie12 Zeebz13 Fat Ass Kelly Price17 @antigonerising 17 Sambalada17 Leo ✔20 Kanenrá:ke20 Normi25 bat199026 .indulgecountry31 Choco33 CF1533 Ky37 jtd Thee Stallion40 @walker9 41 ry4n43 Az Paynter49 LBTrocks58 austinYotamTS

18. ***Flawless (feat. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie or Nicki Minaj) [549 points]"Flawless" (stylized as "***Flawless") is a song recorded by American recording artist Beyoncé from her self-titled fifth studio album, Beyoncé (2013). It was co-written by Beyoncé together with Terius "The-Dream" Nash, Chauncey Hollis and Raymond DeAndre Martin, with production handled by Hit-Boy, Beyoncé, Rey Reel Music HazeBanga and Boots. An early version of the song, titled "Bow Down / I Been On", was released onto the Internet by Beyoncé in March 2013.
Musically, "Flawless" consists of two parts – "Bow Down" and "Flawless", divided by a speech titled "We Should All Be Feminists" delivered by Nigerian writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie at a TEDxEuston conference. It is a trap-influenced song, with a dirty groove and a clattering beat. After being released as a radio single, the song peaked at number 41 on the Billboard Hot 100, in addition to charting on several of the magazine's component charts. - Wikipedia Average: 24.9545454545 St Dev: 16.9213229043 Chart Peaks: US - 41 / UK - 65 / Ireland - 77 / France - 83 / Canada - 88 03 @antigonerising 03 austin 06 Fat Ass Kelly Price 08 ry4n 09 Zeebz 11 born 15 .indulgecountry 16 bat1990 18 Choco 19 Sambalada 20 aerodynamite 21 Az Paynter 23 Kanenrá:ke 27 @walker9 28 Albie 35 LBTrocks 37 Ky 39 #LisaRinna 45 Normi 52 Leo ✔ 56 jtd Thee Stallion 58 CF15 YotamTS
